If I could give more than 5 stars I would. Drew was incredible with my 2 dogs and cat. We were gone for a very long time and I was worried about leaving them with ANYONE but myself (esp since one dog is a covid dog and has never been home without me). My two dogs and cat absolutely loved spending time with him and Drew sent me updates with pictures which made me feel so much better about being away. Would recommend him to anyone looking for a pet sitter or walker.

Olivia was wonderful with our two dogs. One of them unexpectedly needed medication during the time we were going to be on vacation and Olivia had no problem accommodating us at the last minute. Knowing that she was taking great care not only of our dogs, but of our house as well, gave us the peace of mind to be able to actually enjoy our time away. I cannot recommend her highly enough.

Gabby was great with our dog, she took great care of him and our house! The house was spotless on our return, and our normally anxious dog seemed as happy as usual which was a relief for us. She was very quick with communicating, we would definitely have Gabby sit for us again.

I have used Laci for both drop in and overnight services. She met with us for a meet and greet before the sitting dates. My Lola took up to her right away. Laci provided updates and picture and followed directions left for her the day of the sittings. I would seek out her service again for sure!

Megan and Lee stayed with our pups for an extended timeframe and did a terrific job caring for them. One is a senior dog and the other a needy Velcro dog and we felt very comfortable with the care they provided. We would use them again. They also took care of miscellaneous house stuff that popped up while we were gone. Great communication.

About: I grew up with dogs and cats around me since I was a baby, and have always held a special place in my heart for them. When my parents, as well as family friends, would go out of town, I would frequently be responsible for feeding the animals, taking them on walks, or simply just keeping them company. My mom is a veteranrian so I have grown up with a great role model on how to treat animals in a safe and respectful way. I am home for 2 months before my study abroad trip, Dec. 21st-Febuary 10th. I have a completely free schedule until then. I am able to provide services Monday-Sunday. I have a large backyard that I can throw toys in and have 2 other dogs that can keep them company. One is a Leonberger and the other is a Jack Russell Terrier.

I can’t recommend Alex enough. She is a wonderful sitter. I had an emergency where my flight was bumped to the next day - Alex was there for our cat and dog. I’ve rebooked her several times and will continue to do so. She takes care of our home, is very communicative and our pets love her.

Kylie did an awesome job staying with our pups while we were out of town for the weekend. Quick to respond and thorough communication, provided lots of photos and updates. She was fantastic with our almost 16 year old senior dog who wears a diaper and requires more care, and also played fetch in the backyard with our younger dog. She was tidy and left the house spotless. Would book again!

About: I have taken care of my own dogs and others dog's for over 10 years now. My family and I have 3 dogs currently and have owned 6 dogs throughout my life of varying sizes. I have dog sat and walked dogs for many of my friends and family over the years with the dogs being in size ranges as big as Great Danes down to little Griffons. In addition I have bathed and brushed dogs for years as well. I of course am also very affectionate towards any dogs, making sure to give them lots of pets and scratches. I will be available between 10 AM-6 PM every weekday unless specified otherwise, though days and hours are mutable and can be subject to change in the future. If I decide to change my hours/days all clients will be notified of the change with ample time to figure something out between us if need be. I will show your dog affection and make sure they have enough food and water as needed. I can also differ my services based off what my client needs. For example during a drop in I can wear out your overly excited puppy, I can clean your litterbox, or I can just lay down and chill with your older dog who just needs some pets and attention. I am easygoing and can work with any client.

About: I’ve always loved working with animals. I have hands on experience caring for all breeds of animals. I'm active, dependable, and genuinely enjoy spending time outdoors, whether that's going for walks, hikes, or simply getting fresh air. Because of my animal background, I'm comfortable around animals of all sizes and understand the importance of patience, consistency, and attentive care. As a pet caregiver, I'll treat your pets like they're my own. Whether your dog needs a quick potty break, a long walk to burn off energy, or extra attention while you're away, I'll make sure they feel safe, cared for, and loved. I look forward to meeting you and your furry family members! I’m currently working part time, which allows me to have flexibility and availability throughout the day for dog walks, drop in visits, and pet care. Your pets safety, comfort, and well being are always my top priorities. I understand that trusting someone with your pet and home is a big decision, and I take that responsibility seriously. I strive to provide a calm, safe, and positive environment where pets feel comfortable and cared for while you're away.

Elizabeth is such a sweet and caring dog sitter. Our more anxious big dog took to her at the Meet and Greet which made me comfortable about the actual stay. She was very honest and accommodating of all our questions during the M&G too. She was very flexible on our departure day because we were delayed due to weather. The actual stay went well, no issues with the dogs or house. The house was all tidy when we returned so I couldn't tell she stayed for 5 days. Plus she took such cute pictures of our dogs while we were away. Def recommend her!

We were super lucky and blessed to have found Jenna for our very first cat and kitten sitting in-home adventure. She is truly one of a kind and has an animal spirit. She kept us up to date daily, sent us pictures, and I could tell she went above and beyond to make sure that our kitties were happy and did not miss us. We could relax knowing that she was taking care of everything and knows what she's doing. She's also educated and highly experienced. Love love love her.

We will definitely use Gabrielle again for any pet sitting needs!

Saige was wonderful with the dogs, when she came to meet them, they all came up to her immediately wagging their tails, which is not usual for the smallest one. We felt completely at ease with Saige and knew we could trust her with our three furry babies. She was great with communication and we will definitely have her back when we need a pet sitter. When we got home, the house looked like she was never even here.

FAQs for House Sitting - Camp Dennison

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of July 2026, there are 1,499 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Camp Dennison. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Camp Dennison walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Camp Dennison maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Camp Dennison choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Camp Dennison. On Rover:

  • 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 96% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
