“We are so grateful for the amazing care you gave Cloud while we were away! You went above and beyond—keeping us updated the whole time and sending the sweetest pictures that truly put our mind at ease. It was clear he was in great hands. Til next time!”

“Bruno had such a good stay with Donna and we felt completely comfortable leaving him somewhere new because of our previous visit and her great communication! He keeps running to the car wagging his tail since returning home- I think he is hoping to return for a visit!”

“Thalya did great with my pup Apollo! She took him out for long walks to get his energy out and sent frequent updates and pictures letting me know how things were going. Highly recommended! I felt at ease knowing my pup was in good hands.”

“Absolute peace of mind through the entire experience. This was only the third time with a sitter and second boarding my Whiskey dog overnight; but never have I felt as content as when he was with Judy, her wonderful family & beautiful home. Was able to completely enjoy my vacation knowing he was cared for as one of her own. I really can’t thank her enough for what that contentment was worth to me. To top it off she’s so nice!! Had pushed the date forward a day at the last minute, she was totally understanding and went with the flow. Just thank you!!!! I know Whiskey dog misses his new friends already =^_^=”

“Our dog seems very well adjusted and settled with Kennique. This is re-assuring for us, as we had to lodge her for an extended time and extend. Kennique has been very steady and Nova seems to be happy and settled. Eating and playful.”

“We left our pup with Rebecca for a long weekend and he had a great time! She sent lots of pictures and updates and clearly showered him with love all weekend. Would definitely book again! Thanks Rebecca!”
“Angel was just terrific with our dog, Sasha, who can be rather anxious. Sasha came down with a stomach thing two days before we were going away. I offered a couple of options to Angel because I was worried that Sasha would get up in the middle of the night and need to go out (and might not ask!). Angel wasn't phased and said no problem. In the end that didn't happen, but Angel was willing to get up if needed. Sasha seemed very happy. Since their backyard isn't fenced in, Angel put up a great enclosure so Sasha could play and hang out safely outside. We look forward to her next visit with Angel!”

“I cannot recommend Stephen enough. He took amazing care of our Buddy while we were away. He communicated and sent us videos and updates every day. He was cautious when introducing Buddy to the other dogs in his care and we had a meet and greet prior to the stay which I appreciate, he goes above and beyond to make sure the dogs in his care are compatible to keep all dogs safe. I look forward to using him in the future and I know Buddy will too. You can see that dogs in Stephens care are treated as his own and that is so comforting when leaving your dog in his care.”

“EXCELLENT IN ALL WAYS - TOP NOTCH !!!!!!! SHE HAS DOGS, FERRETS AND A BIRD - SHE SIMPLY LOVES ANIMALS AND IT SHOWS !!!!!!!!! We traveled over an hour to drop our 13 month old puppy off - sure there were closer providers BUT NONE LIKE HER !!!!!!!!! WILL USE HER EVERY TIME - NOONE ELSE !!!!!!! Had daily communication along with a lot of pictures !!!!!!!”
About: I’ve cared for dogs at different life stages, including raising a dog from puppyhood and providing dedicated care for a senior rescue. I also have experience administering medication, including for dogs with congestive heart failure. I’m attentive to routines, behavior changes, and understand the importance of patience, consistency, and safety in pet care. I work part-time and am available for pet care on weekdays after 1 PM and on weekends. I plan my schedule to provide consistent attention, including walks, feeding, and medication routines. I’m reliable with timing and make sure each dog’s routine is followed closely. I provide a calm, structured home environment that works well for gentle, low-energy, or senior dogs. I have two young children who are taught to respect dogs’ space, so I only accept dogs that are comfortable around kids and have a calm temperament. While my yard is not fenced, all outdoor time is supervised and dogs are kept safely leashed. I do not have other pets, allowing me to give your dog focused, one-on-one attention. I follow routines closely, including medications, feeding schedules, and any special care instructions. I require a meet-and-greet to ensure a good fit for everyone’s safety and comfort.
“Wanda is the best! She always takes such good care of our anxious little toy poodle. On this stay, our dog needed medicine twice a day that he didn’t want to take. I felt so badly about putting Wanda in that position, but she got creative and found a way to make him accept the medicine more easily. I can’t recommend Wanda highly enough! We wouldn’t want to leave our dog with anyone else.”

“Megen took great care of our dog Lotta. She has a fenced in backyard which was great so our dog was outside a lot and played with the other dogs there. Easy to communicate with. Highly recommend!”

“Daniela took exceptional care of my fur-baby, keeping me up to date with beautiful pictures and messages. I recommend her 100% 😀 Thank you Daniela, you are the pet sitter I always needed.”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Red Oaks Mill
Our somewhat anxious dog Millie had an absolutely wonderful time staying with Judy, Steven and Ginger. It was her first time away from us and she had a great experience. Getting photos and videos was very reassuring and it was clear she settled right in. We will definitely have them look after her again in the future!
I HIGHLY recommend Brandie!! She’s fabulous and took amazing care of our dog. I did a lot of research and she was the perfect fit. She’s an excellent communicator, has a patient disposition, is very knowledgeable about dogs and their behaviors. I felt at ease knowing she was caring for him. He doesn’t do well in large dog settings or storms and fireworks and Brandie was great in handling and caring for him. I’m sure our dog can’t wait to go back !! Thank you for opening your home to our precious dog !

Matthew was a great dog sitter. He was friendly and accommodating. My airplane coming home ran very late and at the last minute, Matthew agreed to keep my dog for an extra night. He sent multiple pictures everyday and took my dog on long walks with his dogs. I couldn't have asked for a better pet sitter or pet sitting experience.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Red Oaks Mill home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Red Oaks Mill.
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Red Oaks Mill sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
