“Jeff was extremely responsive! This was our first time leaving our dog with a home sitter. It was a fantastic experience for both us (owners) & our dog seemed happy when leaving him for the weekend. Jeff provided a Meet & Greet to get acquainted with his dog. He also sent us updates & several pics of our dog which gave us peace of mind that all was good. We will certainly utilize Jeff’s service again!”

“Celina was great. She sent photos and updates and Mango seemed to have a great time. She was flexible and responsive about timing, and everything was so easy and pleasant. Thanks Celina!”

“This was my first time using Rover and Cory made it a great experience. She was friendly, caring and made me feel very comfortable leaving my two dogs with her for the week. I was anxious about it but she sent photos and made me feel at ease that the pups were doing well. I like her setup too, the dogs got to play outside and with her family which was a nice bonus! I will definitely use her again in the future. Thanks again Cory!”

About: I just got out of the Army after 8 years and had my best friend with me the whole way, a German Shepard named Mac. Sadly he passed about a year ago and I would love to have a new companion but I'm going back to school in the fall and need to focus on that. However, in the mean time I have the whole summer free to care for other's dogs. I live in a house with a large, fenced in yard and all the free time in the world. I'd love to have a dog to play with a d go on walks with. I currently have no obligations until January so I can devote 100% of my time and energy to your pup. Their care will be my full-time job. I have a large, fenced in yard and no other pets or children. I live on a large street perfect for walks and near the rail trail too.
“Nayeli is an amazing choice for watching your pooch. When you travel, the last thing you want is to worry about your dog while away. So glad we found Nayeli! Our yellow lab will be spending a lot of time with her, as we travel quite a bit.”

“Wanda is one of the best dog sitter that we ever had. She is professional. Clearly she loves dogs and passionate about what she does. She does it because she loves it and my dog loved her right from the first meet and greet. She kept us updated everyday while we are on a vacation for a week. When we picked him up we clearly noticed that he was happy and healthy during his stay. Wanda will always be our dog sitter from now on…”

“Erika was amazing. She kept me posted all the time with pictures and she helped my boy with his anxiety of staying away from us. The peace of mind of finding someone we can trust our dog with its really the best.”

About: I’ve been raised all my life with animals, and I’ve loved everyone of them , I have been trusted in watching friends, families pets for about 7 years now , I’m not a professional in training animals but I do my best, but just know you’re fur babies are in good hands and I’ll give them so much love and belly rubs or pets I’m currently working full-time in the mornings , but on my days off and afternoons I’m always with my dog fluffy , she’s a shih-poo but she is always with me 24/7 follows me around like a shadow but I adore her , on my work days my family watches her Whenever I’m entrusted with friends or family’s animals, I make sure all my gates are closed and I’m always watching their pets carefully because they are putting their trust in me and I want to show them I’m great at doing so , I love cuddling up with them and playing ball and giving them so much love that next time they see me they get so happy
“Once again Annette has enabled me to leave Charlie and not worry. She is so reliable and knowledgable. We were gone for close to two weeks and I didn't worry about Charlie at all. Thank you Annette!”

“Jasmine is fantastic. She was open and responsive with a genuine wish to get to know Milo and make sure he has a great stay. His stay was superb. Lots of pictures and she treated Milo as one of her own pups. Definitely a repeatable experience!”

“We will definitely be coming back to Danielle. Our two dogs got lots of attention in her home. In the past, our dogs would show signs of stress after being in a kennel. No signs of stress this time. I was really pleased to see how happy they were. Danielle, From our family to yours, "thank you for taking such good care of our girls.' Regards, Peter”
“The best pet sitter I have ever hired. It is very clear how much she loves animals and how much mine love her. I never had to worry while I was away. Reliable, trustworthy, and excellent communications!”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Myers Corner
We are so happy to have found Jeff! My dog was relaxed at pick up so I knew he had a great experience. Jeff said he ate (which he hasn't at other places) and played with the other dogs. Communication was wonderful. We have found our dog sitter and know that our dog will be in good hands.

Phalisity was awesome! Clover tends to get an upset stomach when he’s nervous. During his week with Phalisity, he was completely well and he seemed to have loved his time there. It might be her wonderful care, her family, or her beautiful dog. It’s probably all the above and I’m excited for Clover to spend time with them again!

Matthew was a great dog sitter. He was friendly and accommodating. My airplane coming home ran very late and at the last minute, Matthew agreed to keep my dog for an extra night. He sent multiple pictures everyday and took my dog on long walks with his dogs. I couldn't have asked for a better pet sitter or pet sitting experience.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Myers Corner home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Myers Corner.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Myers Corner sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
