About: I’ve owned a black Labrador(Anna) for over 13 years, she has not once had any sort of health issue as I’ve feed her well, and kept her up to date on vet visits. I’m caring, compassionate, and smart and versatile enough to be calm in any situation that may arise. I assure you that I will treat your pet as if it were my own. This allows me the freedom to stay focused on your pet and be there when other folks have to leave. If a situation ever does arrive my strength are communication so you can rest assured I will be in constant contact, which as a pet owner for an older girl myself id expect from others if I left her in their care. If the pet requires adequate exercise I have no problem going on a long walk with them and the space is pet friendly as my dog (Anna) is there. In your home, I can assure you that my experience will allow me to provide the best care for your loved ones.

Really miss having a sweet doggy. Lots of love here to give to a pet. Always first with me. Have a nice place. Closed in deck. Screened in porch. “Tilly is fantastic! She is always timely and detailed and my pets love her! We have booked with her several times previously and have another reservation coming up next month. I can't recommend her services enough!”

About: I grew up with an Australian Shepherd, she was my best friend! Since then, I have been able to love two Mountain Feist dogs and then now have the following: a yellow lab (senior), beagle mix, shepherd mix, and a feist/bulldog mix (puppy). It’s a house full of love and dog hair! I have also helped care for family and friends' dogs when needed. There is nothing like the unconditional love you get from your four legged family member. I work as an independent contractor so my work hours vary. Typically I have some availability for drop in visits or walks Monday through Friday between 8:00am - 1:30pm. Our dogs are family. When I met my now husband, he had three dogs and I had one. Now that we are all under one roof, four legged family members actually outnumber the humans 4:3. We love some snuggles in this house (as evidenced in the photos) and our youngest pup keeps the others busy with her playfulness.

“We are so amazed by the care that Rita provided our boys when we were away. We knew from our initial meeting that she offers her services because she loves pets so much. We will definitely only hire her for our future needs and we recommend her without reservation!”

“Jennifer did a great job checking in on and taking care of my 3 cats for a week. They all seemed happy to see her each day, even the grumpy cat. I would recommend her and would book with her again.”

“Kennedy is the absolute best! She sent a ton of pictures and videos of the pups while we were gone and even clipped my bigger dog’s nails for us! She’s so sweet and I could rest easy knowing my dogs were being so cared for while we were away.”

About: I have had and cared for pets my whole life! I took Veterinary Science 1 & 2 at New Horizons and I am a pre-veterinary student at Virginia Tech, so I have some experience in a more professional sense as well! I received a certification for basic veterinary methods through my New Horizons class! I also know basic pet first aid! As you can probably guess, I love love love animals! I work part-time and volunteer in hospice, so other than that, I am usually free! My work schedule depends on the week, but it is very lenient! I treat each of my own pets as family, so when working with other’s pets, I like to do the same. I treat pets with the same amount of care as I would someone’s child and cater to each individual pet’s needs.
About: Hi! I’m Madison, and I’ve been a Rover sitter since 2019. I bring both passion and experience to the table—along with a background in Veterinary Science, which I studied for four years. I’ve owned and cared for animals my entire life and currently share my home with an Australian Shepherd/Lab mix and two cats, so I’m especially comfortable with multi-pet households and active breeds. What sets me apart is my ability to balance professional care with genuine love for animals. Whether I’m caring for a playful puppy or a senior dog who needs a gentler touch, I adapt to each pet’s personality, energy level, and needs. I’m also attentive to safety—my yard is large and perfect for play, but since I live near a busier road, I take all necessary precautions to keep pets secure during outdoor time and walks. I make communication a priority. I’ll keep you updated with regular check-ins, photos, and quick messages so you always know how your pet is doing. I also offer meet-and-greets (in-person or virtual) to ensure your pet feels comfortable with me before our first booking. Thank you for considering me—I’d love the chance to give your pet the love, attention, and expert care they deserve! Even as a busy nursing student, caring for animals is one of the best parts of my day—and something I genuinely make time for. My class schedule is flexible enough that I can prioritize spending quality time with your pets, whether it’s for a long walk, a drop-in visit, or overnight care. Being around animals is a huge stress reliever for me, so I look forward to every visit. I treat every pet like they’re my own—making sure they get attention, play, and care tailored to their needs. My background in nursing means I’m dependable, detail-oriented, and confident handling schedules, medications, or special instructions. Pet care isn’t a side job for me—it’s something I love doing and work hard to do well. Your pets will get my full attention, lots of love, and a safe, happy experience every time we’re together. I have three pets of my own, so your fur baby will have plenty of company and a pet-loving environment whether I’m caring for them in your home or mine. I focus on creating a calm, structured atmosphere where your pet can feel safe and relaxed, especially since being away from their usual routine—or their favorite people—can be stressful. Whether I’m house sitting, walking your dog, or providing daycare, I do my best to stick to your pet’s regular schedule, including feeding times, walks, play, and any special routines or medications. I treat each pet like an individual, giving them the attention, patience, and care they need to feel right at home—even if they’re not. You can count on me to be respectful of your space, communicative, and totally focused on keeping your pet happy and healthy while you’re away.
About: I am a veterinarian who has dedicated her life to caring for animals. I have worked with animals from a young age, including many hours working in vet offices in high school leading up to college and vet school (became a licensed vet in 2020). I am quite comfortable with caring for animals who need medications administered, or more intense levels of care while their owners are away. Working with animals brings me joy and peace, and making sure they are happy and well cared for is my life mission. I believe in fear free handling, and I am happy to work with animals who do not trust unknown people. I am a licensed veterinarian but I am currently in grad school so I am very flexible. I can be home all day if needed, and can provide close supervision. I have a 3 year old female German Shepherd (very friendly!) and cats (mostly outdoor). I have the ability to keep my dog separate if needed but she loves playing with other dogs! I have a full sized truck and the ability to transport animals with me safely. I have 2.5 acres of fenced land for dogs to run and play as well as a small fenced in section adjacent to the house. A pet door offers come and go access to the house. I am free to drop in during the week or board animals for extended periods, and if your animal needs medications administered as part of their care I am very capable. I am comfortable handling large dogs (I have a lot of practice in my line of work as a veterinarian). I am also comfortable with young animals, cats, older animals, and any animal requiring high levels of care.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Radford
It was a pleasure meeting Abby. She was a good fit for Charlie who doesn't always warm up to new people. She kept up with the litter and his food, and changed his water. And she took time to visit with him and play---and he continued to play more with his toys than he usually does when we got home. We appreciated her detailed notes and the many pictures. It was really nice to be able to take a vacation and know that Charlie was being visited by Abby.

Sydney was very understanding of Gracie's needs as Gracie is an an elder dog. She interacted with Gracie, sent pictures and text updates during her drop in visits. She communicated both before, during and after her visits. Definitely would recommend Sdney to help care for your pet!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
