“A friend recommended Tilly, and she was so so sweet and my boy was immediately super comfortable with her! She sent me so many pictures though out the weekend and was really good at communicating and caring for him!! :)”

“Carley was phenomenal! During our meet and greet she took the time to learn what Camden is like and how best to take care of him. In her updates is was obvious Camden was having a good time and she has him out sunning with his favorite toy multiple times. He was very happy when I got back. I could not reccomend Carley more!”

“I was amazed at how quickly Chauncey (our rescue dachsshnd) warmed up the Nancye. She has this innate ability to know a dog and his needs, placing that as top priority. She texted with pictures often, I left home for a much needed few days away without a worry at all. HIGHLY recommend and feel sure we'll want Nancye to pet/house sit for us again--SOON!”

About: When you book with me, you’re not just getting a pet sitter—you’re getting someone who shows up, follows through, and genuinely enjoys what they do. I keep things consistent for your pets (same routines, same care, same attention), so they stay happy and relaxed while you’re away. Expect quick replies, regular updates, and zero wondering how things are going. My calendar fills up quickly because my pet families know I’m dependable and easy to work with. If you want someone professional, trustworthy, and fun for your pets to hang out with, I’ve got you covered! Simply put, I prioritize my furry friends. My schedule allows me to have flexible breaks throughout the day, so your pets aren’t left waiting long stretches for attention. Whether it’s potty breaks, walks, playtime, or just a quick check-in, I’m able to show up when your pet needs it—not just morning and night. Safety first! I always have a care plan that I follow intentionally to provide a quality experience for your pets. I keep things professional and dependable from start to finish—quick responses, regular updates, and a routine your pet can count on. Most of the families I work with are repeat clients because once they see how smooth and reliable the experience is, they don’t want to book anyone else.
“Denise took fantastic care of Frankie and was great with communications both before and during my trip! She went above and beyond to make sure she left the house in good shape as well. We will absolutely have her back!”

“Justice was absolutely fabulous with our two dogs and cat. We know that she took great care of them because when we returned from our trip, they were relaxed and happy. She sent us some pictures and answered every time I sent a message. We would recommend her wholeheartedly.”

I also volunteer at the animal shelter to help animals in need I’m currently working part time and only work a few days a week so I am available almost all the time to check in and help out with animals. About: I’ve owned a black Labrador(Anna) for over 13 years, she has not once had any sort of health issue as I’ve feed her well, and kept her up to date on vet visits. I’m caring, compassionate, and smart and versatile enough to be calm in any situation that may arise. I assure you that I will treat your pet as if it were my own. This allows me the freedom to stay focused on your pet and be there when other folks have to leave. If a situation ever does arrive my strength are communication so you can rest assured I will be in constant contact, which as a pet owner for an older girl myself id expect from others if I left her in their care. If the pet requires adequate exercise I have no problem going on a long walk with them and the space is pet friendly as my dog (Anna) is there. In your home, I can assure you that my experience will allow me to provide the best care for your loved ones.

About: I’m an experienced cat sitter and foster caregiver with a passion for helping pets feel safe, happy, and loved. I currently foster two cats and have two of my own, and over the years I’ve cared for and socialized more than 40 cats and kittens. I’ve currently work for a non-profit rescue called Forgotten Animal Rescue and work closely with local shelters on TNR programs and adoptions, gaining hands-on experience with shy or nervous cats and helping them become comfortable around humans. Whether it’s daily care, administering medications, or offering extra love and attention, I’m committed to making every pet feel safe and cared for while their owners are away. I have a consistent daily routine that allows me to give pets plenty of attention and care. I’m available to check in, feed, and play with cats multiple times a day, including mornings, afternoons, and evenings during weekends and anytime after before 8 am or after 5pm on weekdays. Because I foster cats and have my own at home, caring for pets is naturally built into my day, and I can adjust my schedule to meet the needs of each pet I sit. I prioritize a safe, calm, and comfortable environment for every pet I care for. In my home or a client’s home, I make sure the space is secure, clean, and free from hazards, with plenty of cozy spots for pets to relax. I handle all pets gently and patiently, especially those who may be nervous or shy, giving them time to adjust and feel comfortable.
“We recently went away for a week-long beach trip and had the pleasure of having Deann take care of our pets and I truly couldn't have asked for a better experience. She looked after our extremely shy indoor cat, our outdoor cat, and even our saltwater fish with so much care and attention. I was especially nervous about leaving our indoor cat alone for the first time for such a long stretch, but Deann checked in regularly, which helped ease my mind and let me actually relax on vacation. When we got home, it was clear the animals had been well cared for—our cats were content, the fish tanks looked great, and the house was in perfect shape. It's such a relief to know we have someone so reliable, kind, and attentive to count on. Highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and compassionate pet sitter!”

About: I have cared for pets of all ages over the years and adopted a pup of my own about two years ago. He’s up to date on all vaccinations and loves other dogs. I have experience with giving medications to animals, caring for both puppies and older pups, and my apartment is hardwood floors so accidents aren’t a problem! I am a graduate assistant and in grad school. This means that I word pretty weird hours and I do a lot of work remotely. I’m home anywhere between 8 hours to 24 hours a day and can rearrange my schedule depending on the needs of the animal. There is a dog park nearby and it’s a safe area. For my pup, and pups I’ve boarded/cared for before, I traditionally feed them in the AM and give them plenty of water. We go to the dog park to start the day and get the energy out. I make sure to leave dog-safe toys on the floor so they know they have stuff to play with and I dog proof the apartment before I leave each time so they don’t get into things they shouldn’t. We go out later in the day to the dog park again to socialize or get the zoomies going. We go back and have a little more food or a snack and then hang out before going out on a walk to end the day. I'm working full-time in ministry so I have lots of time throughout the day to care for your loved one and will be gone no more than a few hours per evening for bible studies and groups. I take my dog, Tonka, out 5-6 times per day minimum and we love to go on walks and be outdoors. I have a large field directly behind my apartment and live in a very pet-friendly area tucked off the main road so your pup will enjoy lots of safe and supervised outside time! I allow animals on the furniture and keep all choking hazards up high. My dog has a knack for finding even the smallest things to mess with so I have good practice with keeping a safe home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Radford walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Radford maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Radford choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Radford. On Rover:
- 100% of sitters can help with special care needs

- 94% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
