“This was our first time leaving our husky Sansa with someone she had not previously met before, and we would choose Shane again in a heartbeat! Shane introduced Sansa to the other dog at his home and supervised them as they played in the yard. She came back tired, but happy!”

About: I am a writer and I work from home. Relocated to Prescott Valley from Sedona. Lowered my rates and I need new clients!!! Read my reviews!! I rescued my senior dog Bella off the streets of Mexico when I was living and working there as a teacher. Sadly, Bella passed away in February 2023. A year before I met Bella, (the love of my life) I helped a friend rescue an entire family of street dogs. I helped the dad, Cairo recover after his surgery, aided in a newborn puppy rescue, and helped network 6 puppy adoptions. I love all animals and have experience with dogs and cats of all ages, including senior dogs with special needs. My brother has two puppies at home that I help take care of. I was a teacher for 10 years and now I am back in Sedona living with my family. I am looking to live a less stressful life and chilling with dogs brings me joy and happiness. I work from home and am a full time writer. I spend most of my time working on my writing and photography projects. I am good with cats and lizards too and will even help keep your plants alive if you need me to! Normally, at home, I wake up early every day and I go for a mile walk around my neighborhood. I love helping animals and spending time with them. I cannot commit to pet sitting at my home, but when I am at a client’s home I stick to the dogs routine and follow instructions very carefully. I give a lot of updates! I love taking photos and videos of the animals and I consider myself an above average communicator! I go above and beyond and make sure that your pets feel comfortable with me. I love walks and cuddles!

“This was the second time Zack watched my dog Piper and let me tell ya what, she has come home tired and happy every time! We love it lol, she has gets her energy out with Zack...goes on walks, and plays and sunbathes outside in his big yard! Zack always sends pictures and updates, which eases my mind because I hate being away from her. Trust Zack with your pup, you wont regret it 😊”

“Incredibly nice! Great at keeping us updated with photos and messages about our babies throughout their 12 hour stay. Walked them multiple times, fed them twice, and gave them plenty of outdoor time. Also, spent time chatting with us at drop off and pick up so we were comfortable with leaving them.”

About: Hello there! I hope to make your acquaintance. My greatest passion for life stems from a deep-rooted love and appreciation of nature. Not only do animals encourage me to spend more time outdoors, they also lift my spirits. I have yet to meet one whose company or quirks did not bring me enjoyment; from my best friend’s sixty-four slithering snakes, to the most docile (and most dastardly) of llamas. As a child, my favourite playmates were fickle felines, slobber-faced dogs, flopsy rabbits, furry scurriers, flittering birds, flashy fish, and even the occasional amphibian, reptilian, or arthropod to cross my path. Not much has changed since then. Ever-optimistic in my venture to learn more about and care for our beloved companions, I aspire to take courses for animal massage therapy, nutrition, acupressure, and aromatherapy. For now, I am enrolled in basic lessons for the efficient use of essential oils for health benefits. Hopefully this proves to bolster the vitality of our loved ones, and to also honor my endless admiration of plants and animals. I am more than happy to discuss any questions, comments, or concerns regarding your dearest critter’s care, and hope to get to know them a bit better. I have a relatively flexible schedule, while studying for my ultimate goals of a career in working with animals. Please contact me for any more information on scheduling; if necessary. I urge anyone who is willing to enlist my services, please do not hesitate to ask questions and please bear with me if I ask plenty - it’s important to make sure things run smoothly, and to minimize stress on our companions as much as possible.
“My puppy enjoyed her time with Angel! She came home tired and relaxed every day! I received regular updates and Angel is very accommodating. I enjoyed the spacious yard that was designed to keep the dogs entertained but also stress hygiene and cleanliness. Mary will be back the next time we are in Prescott! Thank you, Angel and Casper!”

“Janean's home was exactly what I was looking for for my dogs. She has lots of room for the dogs to run around and she limits how many dogs she has at one time. My girls came home happy and tired :)”

“This was our first experience with Casper. As promise Casper followed up with a nice picture and video of Toby. Toby must of had a fun time because he was so tired when he came home. Thank you Casper for taking very good care of Toby.”

“Wonderful experience! We will bring our Bentley back. He was taken care of so great. He played with the dogs and was a happy dog. Highly recommend choosing Kristopher, Barbara, and Randy if you are looking for kind dog sitters!”

“So happy I chose Leann to watch over my baby! Thank you for keeping me updated throughout the day with photos & videos, truly gave me peace of mind. Also, I love that she also has other dogs to hang out with since at home she doesn’t. The pupuccino was the cutest touch too, can’t believe she enjoyed it. Excited to continue to book you and definitely only want you watching over my baby… thank you!”

“Jeanette really took special care of our Carmie! Her dog Niko is very special and was so mellow around our 7 month old puppy. She sent us texts with picture and video updates so we could know how he was doing. We highly recommend her!!”

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in AZ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
