“Thank you Vickie and Charlie for taking such good care of Trixie. We appreciated the pictures you sent us of Trixie while we were gone. You were always quick to respond and the pictures put us at ease. Trixie looked good and happy. We would not hesitate to have her stay with you again. Dianna and Jerry”

“Hanna watched our two corgis for five days while we were out of town and she was very prompt in giving us updates and did a great job taking care of them! Our dogs looked to be having a blast with her corgi as well, we would definitely recommend her to others for dog sitting!”

“Cy Cy, my cat, is a bit skittish and this was the first time we left her with a sitter. We had only been in Gatlinburg for a few hours when Frances sent a couple of pics of Cy Cy. She was on her back sleeping, just like she does at home, so she evidently felt safe. I really appreciate her care and anytime I need a sitter she will be my first call.”

“Paul and his family were amazing with my dog. They made sure to keep me updated on how he was doing and went above and beyond to accommodate me. I would let them watch Onyx again in a heartbeat.”

“Our Barton boy enjoyed every second of being there!! We received picture and video updates the whole time away and could really feel the love they poured into him. You can tell he misses his new friends so much already! 🖤”

“Colt (my dog) stayed with Joseph and his family for two nights. Joseph was great at communicating with me and very understanding regarding my dog’s separation anxiety issues. It was Colt’s very first board at a home. Needless to say, my husband and I ourselves were a little anxious! But Joseph was quick to reply and provided plenty of updates with photos. Joseph also asked plenty of questions regarding Colt’s care, which I feel is a shining example of his strive towards excellent care. 10/10 would book again! 😊”

“Somer did an amazing job looking after my 14-year-old beagle mix. It’s hard leaving a senior behind but Somer put my mind at ease. I’d recommend her to anyone and will definitely be booking with her again!”

“I felt uniquely at ease leaving my pup with Jeanie, who is experienced and comfortable working with high-drive large dogs with separation anxiety and behaviorial quirks! I look forward to booking again.”

“Had a great experience with Erin with my pup. She kept me informed of how my pup was doing throughout his stay with pictures and texts. He was super well cared for and have no problems using Erin again in the future.”

“This is the third time we boarded our lovely Coco at Lauryn’s place. I am writing this review because Lauryn did a great job caring for Coco, a picky eater and attention seeker. We tried multiple places to board Coco in the last 6 years, but every time, Coco gets sick because they cannot feed Coco. We will use Lauryn’s service every time we need to board Coco.”

“Kathy kept my mini Aussie for 4 days while I was out of town and cared for him as if he were her own! He was happy and tuckered out when I picked him up....a huge relief for me!! She is a gem and I would use her exclusively for my sweet pup!!”

“Joseph was wonderful! Very welcoming and friendly. After the meet and greet, I knew Sioux would be in good hands. Joseph made sure to send pictures and videos everyday and Sioux was tuckered out when I picked her up. I'm glad that I found a great local sitter and will be reaching out to Joseph for future vacations!”

“Goose seemed to absolutely love being over at Skylar’s with their dog Cooper. She sent videos and pictures each day, which I love. Always nice to see your pup having a good time while you are out of town! Would definitely recommend booking with Skylar. Goose didn’t seem to want to leave.”

“I have boarded Charley with Viviana before, this is my second time. Charley seems very happy with their home and her surroundings. Love to receive all the pictures that Viviana sends while I’m away. I know Charley is safe with her.”

“Nicole and her family kept our 5 mo old fur baby Archee for 10 days in her home. This was new to us, dog sitters. Both my hubby and I were apprehensive about leaving him. Nicole made us feel comfortable and took excellent care of our baby. He was well loved. We were sent pics while on our vacation so our minds were eased. He was happy and well cared for. We could not have been happier and would certainly use Nicole again. I recommend her to anyone looking for a dog sitter.”

“Jessica was incredibly responsive throughout our dogs stay. She sent multiple photos and messages while taking excellent care of our dog! Our dog had to take some medication that Jessica was familiar with and that she was able to give to our dog with ease. Will be booking again!!”

“Shawna was great! She was so sweet to our Emma and Louie. She sent lots of pictures and videos and kept us up to date on how they were doing. We would definitely use her again in the future!”

“Kane was very friendly, our dog seemed to be happy. We received pictures and updates on a daily basis. Kane answered all of our questions and always responded to all of our texts. Overall, it was a nice experience and we are grateful for taking care of our little friend.”

I was so happy with how well cared for my Rylee was taken care of! Jenny sent me several pics and videos of Rylee’s day which was a big help. I was able to relax and enjoy my weekend away knowing Rylee was doing so well and settled in comfortably. I definitely would recommend Jenny and plan on using her dog sitting service in the future! Thank you, Jenny (and husband)!

Sandra took great care of our two Shih Tzu dogs. She was very responsive and communicated frequently with pictures to let us know the girls were adapting and doing well. She has a wonderful environment with a fenced back yard just right for small dogs. Sandra made sure they were treated like we treat them at home during the day and she also helped make their night time experience as close to home-like as possible. We will definitely ask Sandra to keep them again because of her efforts to provide a safe and familiar experience for our girls😊

Caitlyn was a GREAT sitter. I was gone for 2 weeks and didn't worry or stress one time. I’ve used many Rover sitters but you can tell Caitlyn really loves dogs. She sent daily updates with multiple pictures and videos, and was very communicative. Would highly recommend. Thanks again!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in TN ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
