“Valentina was amazing with Bentley! She was so sweet, communicative, and clearly gave him so much love and attention. She sent me updates 1–2 times a day with lots of pictures, and Bentley always looked so happy and comfortable. She made him feel right at home, gave him plenty of outside and play time, and even sent him home with a little stuffed animal gift! 🥹 Her son Ezekiel was also such a sweet little helper. I’m so happy I found Valentina and would absolutely trust her with Bentley again. Highly recommend her!”

“We had a unique situation that lead us to Eric and he was incredibly accommodating. I forgot my dog's bed and he was able to provide one. He took great care of our shepherd and sent us several photos to show us our dog was doing just fine. Eric is a super nice guy to boot! Would highly recommend!”

“I had an amazing experience having Denis and his wife to watch my cat Fifi for a few days! They were able to confirm to watch my cat, given the short notice and on a holiday weekend. I was sent plenty pictures and videos throughout her stay and I was shocked to see how quickly Fifi adjusted to her new environment. I was happy hearing how well she was doing, and seeing her be herself. She had earned their trust pretty quickly on. They really took the time to care for my angel 😌 I could see how much passion, care and attention they have for animals and they treated Fifi as if she was theirs. 🥲 I was worry-free most of the time, knowing she was having a blast with her new friends ☺️ I was able to get alot done while they took Fifi off my hands. My cat will definitely miss being there with them. I am so glad I booked and I absolutely trust them with her again. I highly recommend them looking after your pet! 😊”

“Juliana was great. She met with Lady before her stay which was great because when I dropped her off she pretty much left me behind. Juliana asked lots of questions and took notes. She made me feel very comfortable able leaving lady with her. She sent picture and updates of lady while I was away… Highly recommend”

“Alissa was great with Chutney. We got regular updates with videos. We had some last minute changes with pick up, Alissa was very flexible and we didn’t have to worry. Would definitely recommend her.”

About: I’ve always had a genuine love for animals and understand how important it is to have someone you can trust caring for your pet. I’m patient, attentive, dependable, and comfortable following each pet’s individual routine, whether that includes walks, feeding schedules, playtime, medications, or simply providing plenty of companionship and affection. I work a consistent full-time schedule during the week, which makes it easy for me to plan pet care around my routine. I’m available for early morning and evening walks, drop-ins, and care during the week, with greater flexibility on weekends. I’m dependable about sticking to feeding, walking, and care schedules, and I’ll always communicate clearly about my availability so your pet receives consistent, reliable attention. Your pet’s safety, comfort, and happiness are always my priority. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I’m respectful of both their space and their established routine, including feeding, walks, playtime, medications, and any special instructions you provide. I make sure doors, gates, leashes, and harnesses are secure and never leave pets in an unsafe situation. I also understand how much trust it takes to leave both your pet and your home in someone else’s care, so I’m dependable, communicative, and happy to provide regular updates and photos for peace of mind.
“Margarita and Cristian took wonderful care of my dog, Gracey, while I was away for 10 days abroad. They sent pictures and let me know how she was doing. I provided notes and suggestions about Gracey as she has anxiety and she managed to adjust really well in their environment and with the other dogs that had overlapped with Gracey’s stay. I look forward to when I need to have Gracey stay with them in the future.”

“Ilona was wonderful with Princess. Princess had a seizure which she hasn’t had in months and Ilona was so warm, caring and comforting to Princess. It really put my family and I at ease since we were not there. Ilona provided frequent updates and made Princess’s stay a very comfortable one. We highly recommend Ilona! Thank you so much for taking great care of Princess, Ilona!!!”

“I would like to start by saying, in general I am a skeptical person who does not trust people with my dog because like others, my dog is my child. With that being said, I needed a dog sitter short notice while I went on a family vacation to Africa and prior arrangements fell through. Hesitant, I knew that a sitter would be best for me because I didn’t like the idea of boarding him at a facility. My dog weighs 4 lbs and is still a puppy, he seeks love and companionship. While scrolling through Rover I found Diane and I am happy I did. She was amazing in every aspect. She kept me posted about my dog with text, videos, and pictures several times throughout the day. She gave him sooooo much love and affection, responded fast and answered any questions I might have. She was very accommodating to me and Kobe. She treated him like he was her dog. She even sent him off with a gift. I trust her so much and will be sure to book with her over and over again. Thank you so much Diane. If you are looking a for someone who will love and provide good, safe care for your dog please book Diane.”

“Mathew was an awesome sitter for our Pavlo..He gave us up dates and was very attentive to Pavlo…I would recommend Matthew to anyone looking for a sitter! Thanks again! Matthew and Penelope!!”

“Jana was an amazing dog sitter! Very communicative about our dog who was new to the neighborhood. Was willing to meet with us before so our dog could get to know her, and sent THE BEST PICTURES of our dog throughout his stay! We have already discussed our next trip with her.”

“Amazing care! I was apprehensive about leaving my dog in someone else’s care, especially with how nervous she is, but Mariela and her team are truly dog whisperers! She regularly sent pics and videos throughout the day and by day two, my nervous girl looked completely relaxed! Mariela went above and beyond to make my baby feel comfortable, going as far as spoon feeding her to make sure she ate. I’m excited to bring my dog back!”

“My wife and I needed a last minute dog sitter, and we found dilania here on rover. Her response was quick. When we dropped our dogs off she gave updates and took great care of our pups.”

“This was my first time leaving my boys with a dog sitter so I was super nervous about it. After meeting Vanessa for the first time I felt at ease right away. She's super friendly and super knowledgeable. My boys were so happy and well behaved with her. I was gone for the weekend so I left my boys with Vanessa for a few days. Throughout the weekend, Vanessa sent me updates on them via photos and videos which was really nice of her. She will definitely be my go to sitter for my boys.”

About: What sets me apart is the combination of hands-on experience, professional pet care skills, and a home environment designed around each dog’s individual needs. I have about 5 years of experience caring for dogs, including dogs of different sizes, personalities, and energy levels. I pay close attention to body language, comfort level, and interactions so I can recognize when a dog is relaxed, overwhelmed, or needs more personal space. Pet care is my full-time focus, and I’m both pet CPR certified and a certified groomer. This allows me to provide attentive daily care while also helping with brushing, bathing, coat care, and general cleanliness when requested. My home has a private backyard of approximately 900 square feet for supervised outdoor play and potty breaks, along with additional rooms that allow me to separate dogs based on size, temperament, energy level, or individual comfort needs. I understand that every dog has a different routine, so I do my best to accommodate feeding schedules, sleeping preferences, sensitivities, and other special instructions from parents. I also send frequent photo and video updates throughout each stay. My goal is not only to make every dog feel safe, comfortable, and cared for, but also to give parents real peace of mind while they are away. Caring for dogs is a major part of my daily life and my full-time focus. Because I have a flexible schedule, I’m able to provide consistent supervision, regular potty breaks, outdoor play, feeding, rest time, and plenty of individual attention throughout the day. I genuinely enjoy getting to know each dog’s personality and adjusting their routine so they can feel safe, comfortable, and at home during their stay. I’m pet CPR certified and also a certified groomer, so I’m comfortable providing basic coat care, brushing, bathing, and grooming services when requested. For longer boarding stays, I’m happy to include a complimentary basic bath when appropriate. For shorter stays, bathing or grooming services can be added for an additional fee. My priority is always to provide attentive, reliable, and personalized care for every dog staying with me. I live in a clean and well-kept home with a private backyard of approximately 900 square feet, giving dogs plenty of space for supervised outdoor play, potty breaks, and fresh air throughout the day. I also have additional rooms available, which allows me to separate dogs by size, energy level, or comfort needs when necessary. This helps each dog have a safe and quiet place to rest, settle in, and decompress without feeling overwhelmed. I have a 3-year-old Border Collie who is very sweet, gentle, and full of positive energy. He has done very well with other dogs and enjoys spending time and playing with them. I carefully supervise all interactions and introduce dogs gradually, while paying close attention to their body language, personality, and comfort level. I never force dogs to interact if they need more time or personal space. Throughout the day, I provide regular potty breaks, supervised backyard time, playtime, and plenty of opportunities to relax comfortably indoors. I also try to follow each dog’s normal feeding, sleeping, and daily routine as closely as possible. Sleeping arrangements can be flexible based on the owner’s preference and the dog’s needs. For dogs who are more sensitive or feel more secure near people, I can arrange for them to sleep in the same room with me. After outdoor time, I clean the dogs’ paws to help keep them comfortable and maintain a clean living environment. I also pay attention to brushing and overall cleanliness throughout their stay. My goal is to provide a safe, structured, and welcoming home where every dog receives individualized care and owners can feel confident while they are away.
“Dan and her partner were the best sitters we’ve ever had! We have a very sweet but very anxious girl who still gets nervous around new people so we really appreciated how patient and kind they were with Chloe from the very beginning. They let her open up slowly on her own time and by the end of her stay it was so evident how much she had grown to love them. They also kept us constantly updated with lots of photos and videos of Chloe which we loved seeing on our trip as we were missing her so much. Would recommend Dan and her partner to everyone!”

“AMAZING! Took care of my wonderful puppy, even taught him how to stop scratching people for food. Consistently sent photos and if I ever have to board again I know who's my number 1 pick!”

We are so happy we found Viera! It always feels hard to leave our 15yo dog when we need to travel but Ginger had a great time in Viera's care. Viera and her family are lovely and Ginger enjoyed the human and canine companionship during our absence. She came home happy and relaxed. We will definitely book with Viera again.

We felt very comfortable leaving our puppy with Shan. Her and her family clearly love dogs and sent us many pictures and videos throughout the stay. Our puppy seemed well adjusted when we picked him back up! We plan to have our puppy stay with Shan again when we need a sitter for our fur baby.

Piper and Juno had a fantastic week being cared for by Lisa and Gracie, Juno’s new best friend! Both our dogs were cared for like family, and Lisa shared many pictures and kept us up-to-date throughout the week. We were able to enjoy our vacation, knowing that they were both happy and loved and in great hands. A very kind family to take care of our loved ones.!

We boarded our 1yo dog with Katsumi for 5 nights and couldn’t be happier with the experience. Katsumi was wonderful, clearly loves and cares for dogs and made our boy feel right at home. She was very accommodating to his personality and routine. We’ll definitely be reaching out to Katsumi for future day care and boarding! 💚

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
