About: I have experience taking care of both small and large dogs, including dogs with specialized medication schedules. I have taken care of cats and dogs my whole life and I love all animals :) I hope to provide any extra help needed and am happy to show your animals love. I work full-time, but I am able to visit animals during my lunch breaks or after I’m off of work usually around 4 or 5 pm. Depending on the environment provided, I am confident in my ability to walk a dog of any size or just allow them to play in the comfort of their own backyard. Every dog is different and I am able to adjust however they are needing me to.

Gussie did a wonderful job taking care of Simba, our geriatric Lionhead bunny. She was on time, followed instructions and was excellent in helping us during a stressful time.

About: There have also been pets in my house and I have also made myself available to pet sit for friends and family. I am flexible in when and how to care for your smallest or largest family member. I am a runner so I would love to have a buddy join me on a run, jog, or even a walk. I can care for your pup at my house or your house which ever one you would be comfortable with. At the moment I can be open anytime of the week, and visiting houses multiple times in the day to ensure that your furry friend feelings loved and cared for throughout the day. Whether that's a potty break, a snack, or a big ole tummy rub. I’m a teacher on summer break though I do have a part time evening job that starts at 430 my husband comes home at 4 and probably loves dogs even more than me. I have a large fenced backyard and plenty of room in my house for exploring. We do have a small rescue Chihuahua, but she is friendly and very kind.

About: We enjoy having a dog. We do walks, sniff games, chicken broth ice cubes for happy hour in our fenced in yard. We want your dog to feel like they are on vacation when they are with us. They might be spoiled when we give them back. Sorry about that. My husband is fully retired and I have a hybrid position. At least one person will be home to attend to your fur babies needs. We enjoy taking care of a dog. There are no children or pets in our non smoking home. We have a fenced in yard and a nice neighborhood for taking walks. We also have an Apple air tag to put on your dogs collar. We enjoy being outside with your dog in the yard.

About: I’ve taken care of my own dog and watched my neighbors dog, making sure they are well fed, get enough time outside and feel loved while their families are away! I’m currently doing odd jobs over the summer and because of this, I am able to spend a lot of time with your pets! I will be out of the house periodically but will not be out longer than 3-4 hours at a time. I keep a clean and pet-friendly environment at home with plenty of space to relax and a backyard to run around and enjoy time outside. My family will also love spending time with your pet and giving them lots of attention!

About: I have experience caring for both elderly and young dogs. This has equipped me with a variety of skills such as age-appropriate exercise, nutritional needs, and understanding certain behaviors and how to react. I just recently graduated high-school and need something to fill my time. Playing with your pups seems to be the best thing to fill my day! I’m free majority of the week and only work part-time as a waitress. I have a cat and dog at my house but both a friendly to other animals. If needed the animals can be put in a separate room away from clients pet.

Zoe was great! She was always on-schedule and was very patient with my weird little girl. She does things like hiding when it's time to go out and then pulling a LOT once you finally get her out. But Zoe never complained and always hung around with the baby for a few minutes of love and play after the walk. My schedule has changed and no longer need a dog-walker, but if I ever need one again, will definitely look for her!

I have also recently fostered a puppy with my college roommates for 2 months! I love dogs and puppies, all sizes and types. I’m a HUGE dog person! I’m available almost always and I have my own car so I can travel whenever necessary. I’m going into my Junior year at James Madison. I’m very friendly and very responsible. Neighbors and friends have had me pet sit before. I’m very knowledgeable about taking care of pets, feeding them, playing with them, walking them, etc. Thank you for taking your time to read and get to know a little more about me!❤️🐶🐾 I’m currently a student at JMU. I am currently on summer break until August 15! I would love to get outside to walk and play with your dog!! At my house I take very good care of my dogs, I have two dogs at the moment, a silver lab and a golden doodle! They both have an invisible fence to stay in the yard. I can take care of your dog/dogs by keep them on leash at your house or walking around your neighborhood.

About: Dogs have been part of my life since day one. I’ve trained two dogs on invisible fence systems myself, so I understand structure, patience, and what it takes to keep a dog safe, happy, and well-behaved. Your dog isn’t just a booking to me. I’m a college student home for the summer with a wide open schedule, meaning flexible drop-ins, and last-minute bookings are no problem. Your dog gets my full attention, not just a quick check-in between a packed day. Every dog that I meet gets treated like family. I’m attentive, patient, and consistent. I respect each dog’s routine, personality, and boundaries, and I make sure their environment feels safe and comfortable whether we’re at my place or yours.

About: I have experience sitting dogs and cats ages 6 months - 16 years, including overnight house sitting, walking and playing, and regular feedings! I have trained two of my own dogs from puppies, and am very patient with all animals. I am a full time student at James Madison University, so I have plenty of time to spend with your furry friends on weekdays and weekends when not in school! I have a flexible schedule at school and am more than able to drop in for quick potty breaks during the school day as well. If there is not fenced in yard, I keep dogs on a leash at all times to ensure safety. I never allow pets to be near human food unless authorized due to allergies and special accommodations. I spend lots of time giving your pets attention, love , and care while their best friends are away!

Ashlynn is wonderful. She was able to meet for an initial consultation without a lot of notice, and started walking Hoss just a few days later. Hoss has been a handful while we help him deal with his separation anxiety and being home alone for the first time, and Ashlynn couldn't have been more helpful. She was very communicative, and let me know how Hoss was handling his transitions. After one day of Hoss being a bit tentative, he warmed right up to Ashlynn, and I'm excited to make use of her services going forward. Highly recommended!

Holt took excellent care of my old "girl". I probably booked her care inappropriately for while I vacationed. I booked her for 3 - 30min walks a day and it was to much for her. While communicating with Holt we changed her care to suit her better. I appreciated that!

  • 100% of walkers can help with special care needs
  • 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 98% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
