“I cannot say enough wonderful things about Penny and Evan. I had a last-minute, same-day request for someone to watch my two dogs, Bella and Milo. Bella has severe anxiety (just like her mama) and takes medication three times a day, so leaving her is never easy for me. When I came across Penny and Evan’s profile and saw their picture, I immediately felt at peace. I just knew these were the people I wanted caring for my babies. They accepted my request quickly, and within a few hours I was able to bring Bella and Milo to their home. From the moment we arrived, Penny was warm, kind, and incredibly welcoming. She immediately took us to the backyard so the dogs could sniff and explore. She thoughtfully explained their setup, including a separate area in case bigger dogs were present, which gave me even more confidence in their safety and comfort. Inside, she allowed Bella and Milo to explore freely and get comfortable. She carefully gathered all of my information, emergency contacts, medication instructions, and even provided her personal number. She made sure she had mine as well. That level of thoroughness meant so much to me. When I left, I truly had zero worries. That says everything. Even though I was only gone one night, I received multiple updates, pictures, and even a video. I could see my dogs were relaxed and felt safe — which is especially important for my anxious Bella girl. Seeing her calm brought me more relief than I can explain. When I picked them up, they greeted me with all the kisses I could possibly dream of. Milo even turned back as if he wanted to say goodbye to Penny, which told me everything I needed to know. They were content on the ride home — either completely relaxed or happily worn out from their wonderful adventure! Because of Bella’s anxiety, I have often avoided traveling or visiting family. We’ve tried multiple medications and behavioral treatments over the years. Finding Penny and Evan feels like such a blessing. They reassured me that my babies were happy and that they look forward to seeing them again — and I truly believe it. About: I have experience taking care of both small and large dogs, including dogs with specialized medication schedules. I have taken care of cats and dogs my whole life and I love all animals :) I hope to provide any extra help needed and am happy to show your animals love. I work full-time, but I am able to visit animals during my lunch breaks or after I’m off of work usually around 4 or 5 pm. About: In addition to caring for my own dog and cat, I've also helped with my neighbor's dog, and my sister's dogs. I've got a fully fenced in back yard that's almost a full acre. And my german shepherd is incredibly sweet and gentle around other animals. I keep my weekends free so I can hang out with your pet! With school out my 15 year old daughter is home too and is eager to help love on some new pooches. My mother is also home most of the time working, and we are used to loud dog barks! In my home I have a German shepherd upstairs full time and a pit bull mix downstairs in the afternoon. Both are sweet and energetic and love new dogs! My cat does better with people, but she knows how to stay out of dodge when its needed. We do crate our dog when we leave the house but she free roams at night, alternating between the bed and the floor and the couch as she pleases. I would require your dog to be crate trained in case I need to leave the house during a boarding session. In your home, your rule is law. Whether its feeding your cat a carefully measured amount of wet food or keeping the litter box filled exactly half way, your standards are mine and I'm happy to go the extra mile. Likewise for a doggy drop-in to walk and feed. I always pick up after my pet on a walk so your neighbors have nothing to fear from me. And I'm used to reigning in a 90lb German shepherd who wants to make friends with every neighborhood stray cat so you can rest assured that I can keep hold of your dog on a walk.

During the “meet and greet” Penny had us come in and take him straight to the fenced back yard where he could sniff around and go to the bathroom. Knowing about his anxiety, once we went back inside, Penny never tried to pet him, she just allowed him to get used to her being in the room. She was a very calming presence for him. Evan likewise was patient with him and allowed him the time it took to settle and get comfortable. We are thrilled to have found Penny and Even and the bonus is that they live about 4 minutes from our house! We have already booked the next daycare appointment!”

About: Updated March 2026 : As of now, I have a year old mutt I adopted. She gets along great with other dogs, but I have gates to keep animals separate if they’d prefer. I have kept up to 6 dogs at a time. My love for animals began at 8 years old with my two aquatic dwarf frogs named Rocky and Elvis and my hamster, Josie. In college, I fostered sick kittens from a local shelter. My first few years of living on my own allowed me to adopt my two cats, Piper and Blue. But it wasn’t until I moved into my first house with a yard that I knew I could provide a loving home for dogs, as well. I love all shapes and sizes, but big dogs have my heart. Currently my parents own an English Lab and a Chow Chow/ German Shepherd mix. Our first dog, Molly, inspired the paw tattoo on my inner wrist. I miss her every day. As for my cats: They have a separate space- but they’ve made friends with many of my repeat clients: Belle, Butters, Nova, Larry, Leroy, Doris, and many more! I am home Sat& Sun & after work (3pm) on Monday-Friday. I have a crate here in case your pup needs one while I am at work. I have a large, fenced in yard that dogs love to run and play fetch in. My home is comfy and dogs are allowed on / in any space in my home (we share furniture in these parts). I am very responsible and have pet sat in others homes multiple times. I have always appreciated the opportunity others have given me to make friends with their pet and care for them like they are my own.

About: Over the years, I have fostered, loved and cared for many different pets. Dogs, cats, birds, turtles, fish and crabs, rabbits & etc. I have a passion for dogs, especially! I am a strong believer in treating our pets as well as our kids!! It is very easy for me to connect with animals- that is where most of my passion comes from. I have also fed, bathed, kennel/potty trained and provided medication dogs of many different breeds, sizes, ages & temperaments. I can be extremely flexible. I am conveniently located near Downtown Roanoke, which helps me stay easily and readily available. Typically available for 2-3 check-ins/walks per day. My number one priority will be your pets safety! I will send updates and photos during every visit to reassure you that your pet is well taken care of.
About: Dogs have been part of my life since day one. I’ve trained two dogs on invisible fence systems myself, so I understand structure, patience, and what it takes to keep a dog safe, happy, and well-behaved. Your dog isn’t just a booking to me. I’m a college student home for the summer with a wide open schedule, meaning flexible drop-ins, and last-minute bookings are no problem. Your dog gets my full attention, not just a quick check-in between a packed day. Every dog that I meet gets treated like family. I’m attentive, patient, and consistent. I respect each dog’s routine, personality, and boundaries, and I make sure their environment feels safe and comfortable whether we’re at my place or yours.

“I cannot say enough wonderful things about Penny and Evan. I had a last-minute, same-day request for someone to watch my two dogs, Bella and Milo. Bella has severe anxiety (just like her mama) and takes medication three times a day, so leaving her is never easy for me. When I came across Penny and Evan’s profile and saw their picture, I immediately felt at peace. I just knew these were the people I wanted caring for my babies. They accepted my request quickly, and within a few hours I was able to bring Bella and Milo to their home. From the moment we arrived, Penny was warm, kind, and incredibly welcoming. She immediately took us to the backyard so the dogs could sniff and explore. She thoughtfully explained their setup, including a separate area in case bigger dogs were present, which gave me even more confidence in their safety and comfort. Inside, she allowed Bella and Milo to explore freely and get comfortable. She carefully gathered all of my information, emergency contacts, medication instructions, and even provided her personal number. She made sure she had mine as well. That level of thoroughness meant so much to me. When I left, I truly had zero worries. That says everything. Even though I was only gone one night, I received multiple updates, pictures, and even a video. I could see my dogs were relaxed and felt safe — which is especially important for my anxious Bella girl. Seeing her calm brought me more relief than I can explain. When I picked them up, they greeted me with all the kisses I could possibly dream of. Milo even turned back as if he wanted to say goodbye to Penny, which told me everything I needed to know. They were content on the ride home — either completely relaxed or happily worn out from their wonderful adventure! Because of Bella’s anxiety, I have often avoided traveling or visiting family. We’ve tried multiple medications and behavioral treatments over the years. Finding Penny and Evan feels like such a blessing. They reassured me that my babies were happy and that they look forward to seeing them again — and I truly believe it. If you are looking for someone who will treat your pets like their own, communicate clearly, and give you complete peace of mind, look no further. Penny and Evan are absolute gems. We will absolutely be back.”
