“Karrie sent me so many pictures, I loved it. She was open and honest to any incidents that happened good or bad, Gray tends to get herself into a few messes and I was notified of them which made me feel at ease and able to trust Karrie. Gray was living the life at her stay. Thank you again!!”

“Jared and his family were great to our dog Ollie. This was the first time we had someone outside of our family and friend group watch our dog. Jared made sure Ollie was exercised, well fed, and loved. He even sent photos and videos of him through out the day. Would highly recommend and plan to be a repeat visitor!”

“Blanca took wonderful care of our 2 pups. She sent us pics and updates was flexible with pick-up and drop-off hours. They were at ease right away and seemed to have plenty of time to go out and secure space to runa nd spend some energy. Would not hesitate to board our pups with her in the future.”

“Kim is the best!! She sent us so many updates & pictures, and took extra care of Winston during the thunderstorms! You can tell she truly cares about your pups and we will definitely be booking her again. Winston didn’t want to leave and I think he’s still sad he had to leave his vacation home 🤣 Our whole family is so excited that we found such a trustworthy sitter on the island! Thanks again, Kim!”

About: I’ve cared for many cats/dogs since I was 10. My partner is a dog trainer and works at a daycare/training facility with his family he has taught me so much about dogs and their behaviors. I’m currently open availability. So if you need someone more consistent I’m available for daily walks and visits and over night home care or boarding Depending on your dogs bathroom schedule they will have multiple times outside and walks. I will feed them and give them meds if needed. If they like to play we will play too.
“Michelle watched my old guy mini-dachshund, Mojo, for a little over a week while we traveled. I am always nervous leaving him anywhere - but Michelle was so sweet, sent pictures & check-ins, and took great care of him. Mojo seemed like he had a great week. :)”

About: Neighbors and friends have always relied on me to watch their pets. Will go above and beyond to make sure your pet is taken care of and that you feel satisfied/comfortable. Like any normal pet owner you want to hear how your pet is doing and if everything’s going okay. I will be sure to send updates. I will make sure everything goes smoothly and no issues come up. Sometimes things do happen and if they do I will contact you immediately. My availability is always open and I am open to accommodate. I am open and available. Just let me know dates and times and we can try to make it work; if not, I’ll let you know. I do not have a fenced in yard at my place so I wouldn’t leave them outside alone. Going to a clients home I will access situation and go from there; if they need food, water, play, or walk.

“Shannon was wonderful to our 1.5 year old lab/shepherd mix, Ruby, during her recent 3-night stay. We received a few photo, video, and text updates while we were away, and we could see our pup was truly being cared for. Shannon clearly cares about the dogs she watches and treats them as her own. About: I work remotely from my cozy home in Northfield most days a week, and I love furry company! I have a large back yard and live in a calm neighbourhood with lots of treelined streets to walk your pups through. I can also petsit your babies in your own home since my work is remote. I've been taking care of animals for friends for years and just realized I could be doing this more often through Rover! I work remotely and it's very flexible work. I love to take breaks and go out for walks frequently, and if your animal fits on my lap they'll most likely be there most of the time! If they have anxious tendencies I have lots of experience with helping them calm down and feel secure with me. I love to snuggle and will give your animals lots of cuddles and love! I have a big yard where your pup can run on the line. I make sure to feed your animals on time and take them out for frequent walks in my neighbourhood, parks nearby, or at the dog beach!

Great sitter! Michael was friendly, responsive, and attentive. He also sent plenty of photos and touch based with me the day before pick up. In terms of the location, he lives on a quiet street with lots of trees so I’m sure the dogs had a great time on walks. I also loved his fenced in back yard - the dogs looked so happy playing around there.

I had such a great experience with her watching my cat! She was kind, caring, reliable, and treated my cat like her own. She kept me updated and made me feel completely comfortable knowing my cat was in good hands. I would definitely recommend her and will absolutely use her again! ❤️🐱

I can't say enough wonderful things about my pet sitters! They were so incredibly heartwarming and welcoming to my dog, Brooklyn, right from the start. They truly took care of her like she was their own, and that made me feel so comfortable throughout the entire process. The daily pictures and updates they sent were fantastic, and it was clear Brooklyn was having a blast. They even gave her extra toys and showered her with the utmost love. I couldn't have asked for a better couple to watch my dog, and I appreciate them so much!

I am pleased that Myles was well cared for by Jim. Myles received the same pampered attention with Jima as he receives at home. It was also comforting to receive periodic photos to see how well Myles adjusted to his new environment. I would use Jim again in the future.

Jason and Lauren are very nice! They didn't have any trouble with following Taka's routine and feeding schedule. Their space is great; clean and comfortable and a big backyard! They even took Taka on a hike on of the days. We didn't have to worry at all. We look forward to future sittings!

When my dog,Millie, first met Karrie I could have sworn she recognized Karrie as a long lost friend! Karrie welcomed my Millie into her home and sent me pictures of Millie looking extremely relaxed and tired from all her exercise. Karrie is a confident and capable dog sitter and very kind. This helped us relax and enjoy our Christmas ! We look forward to scheduling with her again! Thank you.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NJ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
