“Ceecee was AMAZING. I needed a sitter at the last minute and she responded asap and was able to accommodate me. She was so great with koda and so sweet. Koda is a big boy and she took him in with no questions asked and updated me through out the stay. She made sure he felts safe and loved. I would 100% recommend booking with her.”

“Ashlee was so great with our dogs! She kept us updated with pictures which we really appreciated as we knew our doggies were very happy! Ashlee even cut our dogs nails!!! We definitely recommend Ashlee and will def rebook when we need someone!”

“Coco stayed with Anita and Kirk for 13 days and we couldn't have been more thrilled with the care they gave her. We got photos and videos daily, along with updates. They even were able to attend to a dry nose that I was unable to treat myself, along with nails clipped and a bath before coming home. Anita gave Coco a goodie bag to take home!! Their place is definitely a doggie heaven and I absolutely will have Coco go back to Furry Farm. Thank you so much, Kirk and Anita!!!!!”
“Kim is the best!! She sent us so many updates & pictures, and took extra care of Winston during the thunderstorms! You can tell she truly cares about your pups and we will definitely be booking her again. Winston didn’t want to leave and I think he’s still sad he had to leave his vacation home 🤣 Our whole family is so excited that we found such a trustworthy sitter on the island! Thanks again, Kim!”

“Blanca took wonderful care of our 2 pups. She sent us pics and updates was flexible with pick-up and drop-off hours. “You couldn’t find a more attentive sitter than Jared! My dog was very well cared for (spoiled) as the only pet in his home. Jared sent many photos of our dog with him, even at the driving range! My dog was probably a little sad when I picked him up. I will definitely use Jared whenever I need a sitter!”

“Rebecca and Ozzie were outstanding while watching our dog. Its obvious they both show a passion for animals and we couldn't be happier. We'll definitely try to book with them next time our needs require a fog sitter.”

About: I’ve cared for many cats/dogs since I was 10. My partner is a dog trainer and works at a daycare/training facility with his family he has taught me so much about dogs and their behaviors. I’m currently open availability. So if you need someone more consistent I’m available for daily walks and visits and over night home care or boarding Depending on your dogs bathroom schedule they will have multiple times outside and walks. I will feed them and give them meds if needed. If they like to play we will play too.
“I am so glad we found someone like Mariah to watch our girl while we were away on vacation. She consistently sent us updates, pictures and videos, and took the pups on long walks. My dog got to play with the other dogs that stayed there and she was literally smiling in all the photos! I was worried about leaving my dog for a long period, but I’m not sure she even wanted to leave Mariah’s house by the time we went to pick her up! :) Mariah is super sweet and personable and we will definitely take our dog there next time we need a sitter. I never once doubted that my dog was in good hands, and was able to have peace of mind during vacation. Highly recommend!!!”

“Michelle watched my old guy mini-dachshund, Mojo, for a little over a week while we traveled. I am always nervous leaving him anywhere - but Michelle was so sweet, sent pictures & check-ins, and took great care of him. Mojo seemed like he had a great week. :)”

“Absolutely wonderful!! First time leaving our Sunny and Katie and John took care of her as if she were their own. Great communication, constant pictures!! Will definitely use again!!”

About: I’ve had dogs before, so I’m comfortable managing and caring for them daily. I also grew up around about 16 dogs, which helped me develop patience, confidence, and the ability to handle different personalities, sizes, and energy levels. I understand routines like feeding, walks, supervision, and making sure pets feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while their owners are away. During the school year, I’m available before and after school. I leave for school in the morning and return around 2:40 PM, so I’m dependable for afternoon, evening, and weekend care. I prioritize safety, trust, and creating a calm environment for every pet in my care. I follow owner instructions carefully, keep pets supervised, and pay close attention to their behavior and comfort.

“Karrie was our go-to dog sitter when we had work in Atlantic City. She would take him to the beach for long walks and he definitely seemed content when we took him home. He was always happy in the photos she shared. We no longer have our old bad dog Pete, so we haven’t seen her lately.”
“Angela was absolutely wonderful! From the moment we arrived, she made both Murphy and me feel completely at ease. I usually prefer to give Murphy time to acclimate to a new sitter and environment, but Angela stepped in last minute and made it possible for me to keep my vacation plans. To my surprise, Murphy immediately took to her and her home. Everything went so smoothly and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Thank you so much, Angela!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Longport
Shannon was such a help for us at the last minute, on a road trip to the shore when we needed pet care on really short notice. She was incredibly accommodating with us, and did a great job watching our dog for a night. Shannon is responsive, communicative, and friendly, and it was clear that our dog was having a great time when we picked her up. I'd highly recommend Shannon for watching your pets while down the shore!

I am pleased that Myles was well cared for by Jim. Myles received the same pampered attention with Jima as he receives at home. It was also comforting to receive periodic photos to see how well Myles adjusted to his new environment. I would use Jim again in the future.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NJ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
