“Jan watched our dog Cash over Memorial Day weekend, Jan kept us up to date and sent pictures and videos of Cash. My husband and I both felt very comfortable leaving Cash with her. We were able to enjoy our time away knowing he was in good hands! She was so sweet and we could tell she really loved dogs. We will be booking again throughout the summer!”

“We have had ongoing great experiences with Denise. We are completely at ease when our 11 year old King Charles (Presley) is in her care. A five star service for sure! Rudy & Beverly Meyers”
“Jason and his girlfriend were communicative leading up to and during Emma’s stay. We got almost daily photos and updates and they responded within a couple hours every time we reached out. They seemed to really enjoy and get to know Emma! Thank you both so much for keeping our minds worry-free during our vacation.”

“Cindy was amazing! Very tentative with pictures and updates. Luna wanted nothing to do with me when she came 😂😂 she wanted to go back! lol Cindy made it convenient by picking up and dropping Lu off since it was going to be logistically a nightmare for me! She even noticed that Lu has some hip issue with her age and gave some great advice, thankfully I was already in the process of getting her checked out but it was great that she noticed too. Will definitely be rebooking!”

“Our Huxley was well cared for and Kateri was extremely flexible with our drop off time which kept changing. She sent us some pictures throughout the stay and came home exhausted which means she had fun! Thank you for hosting our queen?”

“Karrie was our go-to dog sitter when we had work in Atlantic City. She would take him to the beach for long walks and he definitely seemed content when we took him home. He was always happy in the photos she shared. We no longer have our old bad dog Pete, so we haven’t seen her lately.”

“Aslee did a terrific job taking care of our Shih Tzu, Buttons. She texted us with updates and pics of Buttons relaxing and playing with other dogs. We like the fact that she is a vet tech, which made us comfortable using her. She even gave Buttons a bath and trim.”

“Blanca was very attentive to my little girl's needs. I was informed on a daily basis while I was away and had poor reception throughout my trip. So messages from her would pour in at weird times, but all in all a excellent boarder and will definitely recommend/return again.”

About: I’ve had dogs before, so I’m comfortable managing and caring for them daily. I also grew up around about 16 dogs, which helped me develop patience, confidence, and the ability to handle different personalities, sizes, and energy levels. I understand routines like feeding, walks, supervision, and making sure pets feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while their owners are away. During the school year, I’m available before and after school. I leave for school in the morning and return around 2:40 PM, so I’m dependable for afternoon, evening, and weekend care. I prioritize safety, trust, and creating a calm environment for every pet in my care. I follow owner instructions carefully, keep pets supervised, and pay close attention to their behavior and comfort.
“Mckenna and her husband were AMAZING! We took a trip to Orlando and they watched our girl for 4 nights and we couldn’t be happier. Dolly had the time of her life and she will definitely be back!”

About: I've had pets for the last 15 years. I'm an active dad who loves walks around town with my own dogs, I am more than happy to walk yours also. Our pets are up to date with vaccines and I keep clean water bowls daily. Feel free to reach out to me with your questions, I'll be happy to help. I am a stay home dad and I take pride in running my house accordingly. I'm an active runner and walk ours dogs often so they don't get anxious and i play fetch with them daily x3 at least. I have a schedule for feeding times to maintain appropriate weight goals for our pets. I have a fence backyard with space to play fetch so we don't have to find random parks on days that are too hot or too cold. However walks are a must for the dogs social development. Walk time vary depending on age, size and capability of the dog. I keep the AC or heat on according to the season.
“Best and most caring family!!! They took such good care of Beau. They sent so many pics and videos! I don’t think he wanted to leave! Feel free to contact me if you have any questions. I couldn’t give them a higher recommendation!”

“I was very nervous about Bean staying with someone new especially when there would be other dogs in the house. I asked Kristen a million questions and she answered them all with grace. She sent me multiple updates a day and Bean was having a grand ol time! She paid attention to the instructions provided and even asked before giving her specific treats. My mind was put at ease while I was away knowing Bean was in good hands!”

“Tyler was great with Abby, it was our first time leaving her without family and you could never tell she missed us! Tyler sent lots of photos and worked with our plane arrival to accommodate us. She came home happy, with a new toy and doesn’t seem the least bit nervous about us leaving again. Thank you!”

“This was our first experience using Rover for our dog Ziggy (70lb pit mix) for 9 days and Jared exceeded all of our expectations. From the moment we dropped him off we could tell he was very comfortable with Jared and his family. We received photos and updates daily, giving us peace of mind that he was happy and having a great time. Can’t thank Jared enough! Highly recommend!”

“We attended a wedding over a weekend and Katherine and John were so welcoming to Zoey! We contacted them for a meet and greet and they were very agreeable. They were accomadating to our quirky schedule and very easy to work with. Zoey had a fantastic time at their home and we enjoyed the photos and updates sent to us . This was our first Rover experience and I’d say it was a success and hope to use Katherine and John again in the near future”

“Deborah and Edmund are a hidden gem that we are so glad we found! We recently moved to the area full time and needed to leave our 1.5 year old pup for a full weekend. We met Deborah and Edmund before the weekend, and immediately trusted they would take great care for our 35 lb mini goldendoodle. They had a dog of their own for 13 years and seemed very comfortable, confident, and competent caring for our dog which helped us not have a worry over the weekend we were gone. They sent us pictures and updates throughout the weekend of a happy pup that only confirmed he was in the best care and being treated like their own. We will absolutely be using Deborah and Edmund for any future boarding needs, and would certainly recommend them to anyone!”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NJ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
