“Very happy with Summer's stay. Claudia provided updates and lots of pictures. I could tell Summer had plenty of attention, cuddles, and play time. Summer's bag was packed and ready when we arrived to a happy dog.”

“Jennifer and her family made Cosmo feel at home and I could tell he didn’t even want to leave when it was time to get him, so they definitely loved on him plenty and gave him lots of play time. They also accommodated me on a shorter notice which was so helpful!”

“Elya was by far the best dog sitter we’ve found on Rover. She was so intentional to spend time with our dog, taking her on walks and giving her a bath during her stay. It felt like we were dropping our dog off at a friends’ house rather than just a boarding place. Easily 5 stars!!!”

“Carly and her husband took such wonderful care of my pup! He is a ball of energy but that didn’t seem to bother them one bit. I felt at ease knowing wally was in good hands while I was on vacation, and I received plenty of pictures to get me through my week without him. I’m so thankful for the attention and care they gave wally, and I know he appreciated the play time with Carly’s beagle, willow. I returned to one healthy and happy pup!!”

“I have a 12 yo German Shepard. He's an old man now. We were going away for New Years and our normal sitter wasn't available. I was apprehensive about leaving him with someone new. Karin was spectacular. She was attentive to his needs and careful about his 'age' related shortcomings. She has a pup of her own and a young son who loved my boy. Karin sent plenty of pics of him and was very communicative during his stay, asking questions to make sure behaviors were normal and making sure he'd tolerate the environment there! I don't know how many stays my old man has left in him, but Karin is definitely the person I'd want watching him when I leave!”

“Angel was amazing! She is not only an exceptional caretaker but knowledgeable, reliable, efficient & devoted. She is professional yet friendly & stayed in contact with us - communication was open not forced. She was available to work around my schedule on very short notice. Demonstrated enormous love & compassion for animals. Her rates are very reasonable for the services she provides. I had a true feeling of trust & peace of mind when leaving my Bubba. You will be dog-gone happy choosing Angel for your caretaking needs 🐾🐶”

“Marlie absolutely loves going to Amber’s. They take such good care of her. She gets so many walks, snuggles and extra special attention. Thank you so much for being home away from home for our girl.”

“My dog settles right in with Tami! It is so important to feel like your fur baby is getting the best of care in a boarding experience, and that is what you will get with Tami.”

“Nate and Whitney took exemplary care of Murphy while we were on vacation. This was our first time leaving Murphy with a sitter and they made sure we knew he was well taken care of. They sent pictures of him and kept us updated of how much food he was eating. 10/10 recommend.”

“Lashonna is fantastic. A great meet-and-greet, very accommodating on pick up and drop off, great communication, and most importantly our dog seems very happy with the stay.”

“Linda was great with my dogs. She sent pictures and videos and even let them stay an extra night after I realized I got my dates wrong. I will definitely book with her again!”

“This was the first time we used Rover to find care for our Gus for a night, and Rachel was amazing. She sends regular updates in pictures and videos so we always knew he was safe and taken care of. We would definitely book with Rachel again in the future!”

“Alysia was great with Amos! She was thoughtful about how she introduced him to her dogs and allowed me to hang around for a little while while she did so. She commented well and sent updates. Amos seemed happy and comfortable with her in her home. I would be glad to have her keep him again!”

“I don’t have words… was so great! My girls were sooo happy. Katherine is now at top of my sitters list. I just moved and can’t tip right now but, I will reward with Hispanic delicacies ??”

“Michelle is a pleasure! Her home is beautiful and perfectly suited for pets. She has a wonderful area downstairs with roomy kennels, room to play, and a sitting area with a TV. But the dogs are usually given the run of the house (unless she goes out), which includes steps leading up to her couch so the dogs can easily get on the couch to relax, a fireplace, and a nice back yard. She is very experienced and professional and I would definitely use her again in a heartbeat!”

You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in OH ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
