“This was a super awesome experience for Bandit! It was his first time staying over, so I was a little nervous prior to booking. Kayla made it super easy and allowed a meet and greet ahead of time to be sure Bandit was comfortable. Kayla provided excellent communication and made Bandit feel comfortable & safe (as well as dad) prior to his stay. Her experience and dedication to the love of all animals really shows and I couldn't expect better. We will definitely be booking again. Thank you Kayla and family!”

“Christine and her husband were very nice and took amazing care of olli!! They watched him over our wedding weekend and brought him on the day of to let him be in pictures!! we couldn’t have asked for anyone better!! They sent pictures everyday and kept us updated.”

“Kristi has been great for our Cockapoo! He comes home happy and healthy. We have used her twice already, and will definitely continue to book. She has also been very flexible with schedule changes and was able to book with short notice. Thank you Kristi!”

“I truly appreciate Amber and her hubby to take care of my fur baby and be response to pick her and drop off safely. I would highly recommend her and would consider for my future needs . Thank you Amber and Derrick ? Alka”

“Amazing dog sitter! I boarded my dog with her for a day and a night and she was great. Aubrey kept me updated on my pup and she seemed to take very well to her. Will definitely use again and recommend to anyone looking for a pet sitter!”

“Nate and Whitney did an amazing job watching Mac! They sent many updates and pictures of how Mac was doing while he stayed with them. When I picked him up the next day he was exhausted so it is safe to say he had a blast staying with them. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a dog sitter!”

“First time using Rover and had a great experience. Ryan and his son took great care of Cerby and he came back home happy and playful as ever. Will definitely schedule with them again!”

“Kristen did an excellent job, and I highly recommend her. I was a little hesitant at first because of the pricing, but once I realized what was included, it made complete sense. Her setup is on a large piece of land that has clearly been customized specifically for pets. There are multiple fenced-in areas where dogs can safely run freely, and it gave me a lot of peace knowing my dog had space, structure, and proper care. Her communication could not have been better. Every time I texted her, she responded within minutes and fully addressed whatever concern I had. I also noticed a real difference in my dog after coming home. Before the stay, my dog would just come up to me and act excited when she needed to go outside. Now she actually cries to be let out, which is much easier to understand. She also seems to pull a lot less when I take her outside, so it honestly feels like some obedience training happened during the stay too. The kennel is climate controlled, the property is very well set up, and Kristen clearly cares about the dogs she watches. She even gave my dog special treats like pup cups with peanut butter and whipped cream. I was honestly worried my dog might not want to come home. If you want to leave your dog somewhere and not have to worry the whole time, this is the place.”

“Alexis was amazing with our girls. She kept us updated on how they were doing, sent photos and even groomed them. She also gave them homemade treats. They loved her too. We look forward to using her services again.”

“Pietro was absolutely amazing!! Maple is nervous around men but she was so comfortable with him. He sent plenty of pictures and videos and even kept her a few hours longer to help me out since I broke my leg. Would definitely recommend!!”

“Jeanie was wonderful with our cockapoo Lily, who has a lot of anxiety, when she took care of her for 4 days. Jeanie even did her errands ahead of time so she wouldn't have to leave Lily alone. She went beyond the call of duty! Thank you so much Jeanie!”

“Meeko stayed with Jennifer for the first time last week and we were so happy with our experience. She has a big beautiful family so there is no shortage of love given to your pet. But between her own dogs and others boarding, Meeko had the best time playing with all of them and Jennifer sent plenty of photos and updates. We will absolutely use her services again I highly recommend her!”

“I have a 12 yo German Shepard. He's an old man now. We were going away for New Years and our normal sitter wasn't available. I was apprehensive about leaving him with someone new. Karin was spectacular. She was attentive to his needs and careful about his 'age' related shortcomings. She has a pup of her own and a young son who loved my boy. Karin sent plenty of pics of him and was very communicative during his stay, asking questions to make sure behaviors were normal and making sure he'd tolerate the environment there! I don't know how many stays my old man has left in him, but Karin is definitely the person I'd want watching him when I leave!”

“Niella’s family and her two dogs wore our high-energy pup out, she was schlumped for two days after we picked her up! Niella gave us updates throughout the 4-day stay and was very responsive. We will definitely be reaching out to her next time we need a sitter!”

“Chili Pepper was well taken care of during our family vacation! Derek and Megan were flexible, understanding, and great communicators! I would HIGHLY recommend them to anyone! I know I will be when we are away again! Thank you so so much!”

“Elya was by far the best dog sitter we’ve found on Rover. She was so intentional to spend time with our dog, taking her on walks and giving her a bath during her stay. It felt like we were dropping our dog off at a friends’ house rather than just a boarding place. Easily 5 stars!!!”

“Treven loved having other dogs to play with and Vanessa provided extra reassurance that things were going well throughout his stay. I hope he is able to stay with her and her family again.”

“Best sitter ever! Amanda was so kind and understanding and made us feel so at ease when we left our baby! She took great care of him and sent photos and updates and when I went to pick him up he was so comfortable sitting on her family's lap and enjoying himself! Your baby is in good hands with Amanda!!”

“I hate to leave a review and share our secret spot but... Anna was amazing with our skittish/grumpy mini dachshund. She walked, played with, and even did training with her. We received many pictures and videos while we were away. Our dog received so much attention and toy play that she came home and slept for about 3 days! We will definitely use Anna again!”

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in OH ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
