“Lydia is absolutely amazing! Her home is clean, welcoming and was ready to board our dog overnight. We really appreciate her and our dog returned home happy! We will be using Lydia from now on.”

“Bill was amazing! He helped me out last minute when it didn’t work out with a sitter and I had to travel the next day. He had a great fenced in yard and quiet neighborhood so I felt at ease having Ni Ni there. Bill sent updates and took wonderful care of her. Will definitely book again!”

“Pietro was absolutely amazing!! Maple is nervous around men but she was so comfortable with him. He sent plenty of pictures and videos and even kept her a few hours longer to help me out since I broke my leg. Would definitely recommend!!”

“This is the first time we have ever boarded a fur baby in someone’s home. We were very nervous. Our dog has stitches and needed meds during his stay and Karin was able to accommodate his needs! She was also awesome at sending us pictures and updates. It was great seeing him having fun! We will definitely be using her again! We will even do some doggy daycare since our dogs are besties now!”

“Emily did a great job she was so good with our pup! She sent cute pictures of him while we were away. Amazing communication as well. Overall provided a safe, fun environment and treated our dog like her own. :) I will be a repeat customer!”

“Jeanie was wonderful with our cockapoo Lily, who has a lot of anxiety, when she took care of her for 4 days. Jeanie even did her errands ahead of time so she wouldn't have to leave Lily alone. She went beyond the call of duty! Thank you so much Jeanie!”

“Elya was by far the best dog sitter we’ve found on Rover. She was so intentional to spend time with our dog, taking her on walks and giving her a bath during her stay. It felt like we were dropping our dog off at a friends’ house rather than just a boarding place. Easily 5 stars!!!”

“Michelle is an amazing and caring dog sitter. She worked with me as my dates changed which helped me a great deal. She's also well knowledgeable about dog's behavior. I will hire her again for my dog, Josie.”

“Derik and Megan were so patient with our St. Bernard and took every step to help her overcome some anxiety issues during her stay with them. They were communicative with us and were knowledgeable about dog behavior which played a role in being able to respond to our dog’s needs. Would absolutely go back to them!”

“Brandy and Brandon were amazing sitters for my boy! They are very friendly with a clean and welcoming home! I really appreciated the level of communication, frequently sending updates and photos! Dunkin had a blast and will absolutely be back!”

“Amanda was amazing with my pup Lucy! She sent me daily pictures & made sure Lucy got plenty of love & snuggles. I came home to a happy, relaxed pup, & I’m so grateful for the wonderful care she provided. I’d trust Amanda with Lucy anytime!”

About: I’ve had dogs my whole life and helped at the local vet clinic growing up. My last dog passed away from heart failure in 2022. It’s a busy time for my sons activities so it’s not a good time to bring a full time dog into our home at this time but would love to help others out. I work full time outside the home M-TH from 8-3 and half day Fridays (occasional Fridays totally free). I am willing to be flexible with week day stays if they can manage being alone during those hours. Our yard is unfenced but I would walk or chain them out depending on owner preference. They would be treated like they were my own.
“Christine, Ryan and the kids were awesome and treated our pup like a member of the family! They were very accommodating and sent us pictures and updates of our dog as well. Highly recommend!”

“I hate to leave a review and share our secret spot but... Anna was amazing with our skittish/grumpy mini dachshund. She walked, played with, and even did training with her. We received many pictures and videos while we were away. Our dog received so much attention and toy play that she came home and slept for about 3 days! We will definitely use Anna again!”

“Once again and as always, Alyssa was great! My guy has developed some dominance/reactivity issues since his last stay, she was still perfectly willing to take him and confident in her handling. She sent me a video after his drop off to help eaise my concerns. Will definitely use her again!”

“Dogs had a great time, we loved getting pictures of them while we were away and had peace of mind with their fenced in yard. Grateful they took such good care of our dogs!”

“I feel very secure leaving Suzy with Joanne and her family. You can really tell they are dog lovers, and my girl is just the right amount of glad to see us when we pick her up. Joanne is absolutely my first pick of sitters!”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in OH ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
