“Alexis is amazing. She is incredibly flexible and understanding. As a veterinarian, I have a demanding job with long days. I’ve had to shift my schedule last minute due to patients, and Alexis has been there for us to make sure my pets are taken care of. I cannot thank her enough!”

“Best experience with a sitter. She was so kind to our fur babies and went above and beyond to make sure that they were cared for. Definitely would recommend her. My three dogs got so many cuddles and I loved all the updates.”

“Carissa was so wonderful and considerate with my puppy. She was always prompt and respectful. I loved her updates and pictures. I am very grateful for how good she was to my baby. :)”

“Leaving my dog for the first time was something I was incredibly nervous about. He has always stayed with family, and the one time I boarded him before, he really struggled. So leaving him at home for 6 days and trusting someone new to care for both him and my cat was a huge step for me. Lucy was wonderful and took excellent care of my babies. She stayed overnight the first night and then came by consistently throughout each day to check on them, give medications, take my dog on walks, and even brushed him. My cat is very shy and doesn’t come out for most people. Lucy worked gently to get him comfortable with her. By the last couple of days he was really coming around! Still keeping some distance, but her gentle persistence was working. It is obvious that Lucy cares about their comfort. I really appreciated the constant updates and photos. They gave me so much peace of mind and allowed me to actually relax while I was away. My dog was so much happier being able to stay in his own home, and my cat also did much better having his bestie there and someone coming in regularly. I truly could not have asked for a better first time experience. I highly recommend Lucy and will absolutely use her again in the future.”

“Heather was amazing! Very responsive and took great care of my cat. Getting updates throughout the day along with pictures made it to where we could enjoy our vacation without having to worry.”

“Tressa and Blake were highly communicative, reliable and professional with me. I highly recommend them for drop in visits for your cats and dogs, and administering oral medications to your animals if needed!”

“Great experience! This was my first time using Rover and overall I’m extremely satisfied. Ben did a great job and took great care of my dog. I will definitely be scheduling future dog care with Ben.”

“Katie was such a great sitter for our cat Gooby! She was always on time, sent plenty of photos each visit, and kept our house neat and tidy. I would recommend her in a heartbeat!”

“Lindsay is the most caring provider! Our Max loved her so much. It meant so much to us to have a meet and greet before we left and then to get so many videos and photos. I also appreciated the level of care and communication she put into everything she does. Will definitely rebook Lindsay!”

About: I’ve been loving and caring for dogs since I was young, and am currently raising my own three: Jax, Chihiro, & Delta. I’m also experienced with cats through informal care of outdoor/community cats. I’m known to be attentive & reliable, and I’m comfortable with feeding, walks, playtime, and daily routines. I’m currently working full-time, (9-4:30 Mon-Fri), but I have availability from 6-8:30am & 5-11:30pm Mon-Fri, and 5am-11:30pm on the weekends. I listen to every pet parent, noting down important information that’ll help me provide the best care to their pets. I ensure that the environment is clean and safe to roam, food is provided correctly, and that the pet is given enough love and attention.
“Alex was great! She gave updates on how her interaction with my cattos went. She also went above and beyond when l asked if she could return to my home to turn the heat on after her visit had ended meant everything. 🥹 Very quick responses and cared for my cattos as if they were hers. Thank you!”

About: I am reliable and make sure to take care of any individual pet. I love hanging out with dogs, making sure they’re active, happy, and cared for. I have experience in watching dogs over night in their homes, as well check on dogs if their owner are away on vacation. Dogs can get lonely when their owners are away working or traveling, which is why I love to dogsit when needed! I am a full-time college, so weekends including Friday afternoons are my best times. If I have free time when not busy with academics, I can dog sit in the afternoon/evenings. I make sure dogs have food and water! I live in a house with a big yard that is front and back, very spacious for dogs to run around and sniff around!

Carissa is an extremely personable, attentive, and trustworthy sitter! She provided very detailed reports for both drop in visits and plenty of photos. My kitties have 2 very different temperaments and she handled them both very well and was clearly in tune with and aware of each cat’s mood when she visited. I always felt like my girls were in good hands and I would absolutely have Carissa cat sit again!

Rebekah came by to visit with us and meet our cats for two days before a weeklong trip, during which she would care for them. We were all incredibly impressed with her knowledge of cats and how quickly they took to her. Since w have just moved here and the house is new to our cats too, we were glad to be able to hire a pet sitter that cares so much.

Lindsay is awesome! This is the second time she has watched our cats while we were gone and I had so much peace of mind that they were okay because she kept me up to date and always sent pictures and videos. I would recommend her to anyone. Your babies will be well taken care of!

He was fantastic with both my little guys. He did everything as asked, is very patient and calm is a great person overall and as someone to watch your pets. I highly recommend him and would love to hire him again! Keep up the good work William! 11/10 from me!
Kamylle was intrigued and passionate about our two cats. Very friendly and easy to converse with. She has a lot of experience working with animals, having them herself and working frequently with other animals. Looking forward to having her care after our cats in the future!
Erica, was very nice and attentive to our little finches and outdoor cats. She was prompt on her visits and sent daily updates with pictures. She came for an initial visit several days before our trip and we felt very comfortable and confident with her experience with birds and cats. We would highly recommend her for future bookings and will be glad to use her service again! Thanks, Margaret and Andrew

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Phenix City. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
