I have a large fenced-in backyard where your dog(s) may roam free, and my community is wonderful and safe place for walks. As I am a teacher, I am currently at home all day on holiday due to summer/spring/winter break. Depending on my schedule, I am also generally free on Saturday and Sundays (perfect if you need care for a weekend roadtrip 🚙 or vacation out of town ✈️ ) unless I have prearranged travel plans myself in which I will not be available. Your dog will have all of my attention and not be left alone for long periods of time. My husband Nick also helps me take care of the pets! About: I have been taking care of animals as long as 7 years. I truly enjoy loving on, feeding, letting out, playing, and caring for animals, especially dogs. My favorite activity with dogs is walking them! I first began my experience with animals when I started volunteering for multiple different organizations. I volunteered with a small, local rescue who took in dogs and cats. In this rescue, I took out, fed, and walked dogs of all sizes. I also had experience with small kittens and their mothers who did not have much experience around people. In this, I spent time with the cats, played with them, and cleaned out their litter boxes to make sure that everything was clean and safe for the small kittens. Over one summer, I volunteered with a horse rescue where I cared for horses by cleaning them, their stalls, and supplying food and water to them. This was rigorous but worth the reward of seeing them happy! Over the past few years, my family has fostered two large dogs. The first one was an 8 month old Great Dane/ Catahoula Leopard Dog Mix (80 lbs). We had her for about six weeks. The second was a Lab/Husky/German Shepherd mix (75 lbs) who had reactivity to men and sometimes dogs on a leash. I had learned how to manage this and would say that I am experienced in handling these kind of dogs. More recently, I have volunteered at Champs Chance in Tallahassee. Through this organization I have taken many dogs to adoption events as well as puppy playdates, where dogs can have a day out of the kennels with a volunteer. Because of this experience, I have learnt more about dog behavior as well as just being able to get my hands on a more diverse group of dogs over time. My family currently has two dogs who can be seen on my profile. Both are rescues and have their own behavioral problems, therefore I do not offer boarding or daycare services for the safety of your pets! In the past, I have worked with trainers with my dogs to learn proper dog-walking skills and how to avoid dangerous situations while dog walking. I am comfortable working with harnesses, collars, and prong collars if requested. I have spent a lot of time with other people's cats even though I do not own my own. I love spending time with cats. I have not owned one, but through my other experiences with family cats and sitting them, I have enjoyed their independence. I have experience with multiple small birds, but I am comfortable working with larger ones as well. With these birds, I would take them out of their cages, feed them treats, clean their cages, and ensure that they had enough water and food to make sure they were happy and well taken care of. Overall, I will do my best to ensure that I care for your pets to the best of my ability and keep them happy while you're gone. My goal is to make sure that your pets are taken care of worry-free, so you can enjoy your time away from home. Regarding meet and greets, I can do meetings at your home, at a neutral location, or through Zoom. I understand that trusting someone with your pets and your home is difficult, especially when you have never met them! During my meet and greets, I will get to know you and your pet as much as you will get to know me. I am currently home for the summer from university until I go for study abroad. I will be available from May 3-8, May 10- June 5, and July 5th- August 13. I am available to check on animals every few hours and also able to walk fairly often! I am available all days of the week. I am very careful regarding other people’s animals and belongings and I ensure that I will do my best to keep your animal safe and return them the way they came!
