“This is my first experience with Rover, I was very nervous leaving my boy with anyone new. Breanna kept in constant contact and provided pictures. I can tell just by them that Maverick had the best sleep over with her! He even met a new lady friend! I cannot recommend her enough and will absolutely be requesting her services again!”

“Stout enjoyed his visit with Simon. He was flexible about us changing our plans too. He was able to add extra dates which helped us enormously. Thank you!!”

“Lou had such a great time again with Elisabeth while we were away! We absolutely loved all of the updates and she looked so happy and relaxed in every photo and video!”

“I honestly don't know what we would do without Christina! Bertha simply loves it there and it's obvious. We have used Christina for boarding and dog walks over the past several months and always enjoy the frequent updates and pictures. This time we were to be away in a remote location without access to those luxuries- it was reassuring to know that although we were out of contact Bertha was in good hands. We returned to find her happy and w contented. Thank you Christina - because I would never leave if I didn't know Bertha was in such good hands!”
“Alicia and Dave were great with Cosmo. He was very comfortable there with them and their dog, and they were great at giving him his medications. Always tough to find someone to watch these dogs with some medical issues, but they didn’t miss a beat. Loved getting the picture updates.”

“We were visiting from out of town and needed someone last minute. Marna was quick to respond and made us feel very comfortable leaving our pup with her. We even forgot to bring food and she kindly provided that as well. Highly recommend!”

“great family who very clearly loves having a dog in the home. they treated my girl like it was her home. very open to let her wander through the house freely and vicky/her husband are very communicative during the stay texting updates each day. would recommend and use them again!”

About: 35 years of experience caring for dogs, puppies, kittens & cats. I’m good with anxious dogs & scaredy cats. I have a flexible schedule, let me know how I can help. I am currently doing Rover full-time. For many years i have lived in homes with pets and helped care for them. Currently living in a home with 1 cat, 1 dog, and 12 chickens. We also do doggy day care and do boarding- so we keep pretty busy. I always walk dogs on their leashes. I make sure to keep medications and other harmful things locked away. We have a fenced in yard, but i’m always out there with them. I try to take as good care for your animals as if they were my own.
“Ziggy had such a great time with Lizzy. She took him on lots of adventures and gave us tons of updates. He came home tired and happy, it was a great fit. She was so easy to communicate with too! We will definitely book with Lizzy again!”

About: We are a family eager to care for your pup! We also have a Bernadoodle who loves other dogs and is looking forward to a playmate!! Your dog will have lots of attention, exercise, and playtime with our dog. Only brief stays alone at our house when necessary. We will do our best to make your dog feel at home! Please let us know your dog’s routine so we can make their stay as comfortable and safe as possible! We will stay in touch while you are away!
About: I have experienced with a variety of pets - my own, petsitting, and volunteering with shelter cats! I’ve cared for animals young and old, shy and bold, and treat them all like my own. Services I provide: - Cat drop-ins - Small to medium dog walks and drop-ins - Small animal drop-ins, as well as hosting in my home on a case by case basis (in a room inaccessible to my cats). I have experience with bunnies, reptiles, and small rodents! I have a full-time job, but I work from home and have a flexible schedule, so I can almost always make a drop-in visit work! I’ll ALWAYS hit the necessities: food, clean water, playtime, pets, and a clean litter box for cats (I feel very strongly about this last one - I won’t leave your home without scooping!) Since I’m petite, I only work with small to medium dogs. I want to make sure that both me and your pup stay safe on our walks together, so I feel that it’s important to stay within my comfort zone! I’m happy to have some playtime with your dog in a fenced yard as well.
“Audrey was so great with my dog. I could tell he was well cared for while we were away. She sent pictures everyday of all the fun adventures she took him on. Highly recommend!”

“Jessica is fantastic. She was so good with our two pups for an overnight stay! She sent the best pictures, played with our pups with her children, and gave them a great place to stay for the night. Would highly recommend Jessica; and we will definitely not hesitate to send our dogs to her again!”

“Hank and his mom Rachel were such a blast for our dog Bode to stay with. He had a great week of playtime, couch time, and what looked like hours of dog parkour. We will absolutely be sending Bode back.”

“Kimberly did an amazing job boarding Fenway for 6 days! She took such great care of him and gave me awesome updates throughout his stay, which gave me a lot of peace of mind. Fenway was clearly well loved and comfortable with her. I would definitely book with her again!”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Pejepscot
I believe I've left a review for Alissa in the past, but she really out did herself this time. I had a nightmarish travel experience that delayed me picking up my puppy and Alissa was incredibly flexible and understanding. It gave me so much peace of mind knowing that my baby boy was in a happy home and being well taken care of. I can't recommend her more.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Pejepscot home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Pejepscot.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Pejepscot sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in ME ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
