“Robin has been so great to work with. She is quick to respond to messages, and confirm details. She was amazing with our dogs, making sure to give our high energy pup lots of time to run around. Both dogs were tired out when we got home, they clearly had a good time with Robin and enjoyed being out in the yard for the time she was visiting. The reports and photos were so nice to receive. We will definitely be contacting Robin again!”

About: I am recently retired and am just starting out with the Rover. com work platform. My ideal work will involve helping families care for their pets when they can't be there to care for them themselves. I have been in this position with my pets several times and know how stressful it can be to trust somebody that you don’t know to care for your dog or cat family member. I have always had dogs and cats as part of my family, including special needs pets. I currently have one dog with special needs (IVDD and reactivity.) I would be happy to talk with you to see if I can meet the needs of you and your pet. Because I am retired I am fairly flexible with my schedule. However, due to my own pet , I am not available for overnight care or boarding. In addition, I travel a fair amount. So, I am best suited for occasional/one time/short term or fill-in type jobs. I currently have a dog who has physical limitations and reactivity. Because of this, I am unable to board a dog or cat in my home. I am also not available to overnight pet sit in your home.

“Milo did a great job caring for our fur babies while we were away. He was communicative and responsive before and during our vacation. He even asked about favorite hiding spots for my extremely shy cat so he could make sure she was okay when she wouldn’t come out to eat with the rest! I highly recommend Milo and would definitely rebook if the need arises.”

About: Greetings! I'm Daniel, I've been pet-sitting and dog-walking off and on for 17 years. I love animals: With me, you get a new friend for your pets, and a dependable steward of your home. I believe in the Hawaiian meaning of "Kahu," that we should be guardians and beloved attendants of our animal friends. I devote highly sensitive heart-centered care for your pets for two main reasons: 1) I am a remote worker as a writer and healing coach, so I can be at home with our furry friends. I am not just feeding and walking your dog(s) and caring for your cats; I am providing emotional support and plenty of care (frequent outdoor breaks and walks, playtime, pats, massage, energy work, etc.). 2) I am a professional in the practice of meditation and the healing arts, a path that cultivates empathy, which helps me bond with animals and be more attuned to their needs. I have been on this path for 17 years. I am highly intuitive. I practice Eastern techniques of energy work (qi qong and martial arts) and I am a certified Reiki practitioner, so I love to connect with animals as part of that practice (they are great conductors of energy, which is only ever healing and calming for them to experience). I aspire to the highest level of performance and etiquette. I promise to treat your pets and space as sacred; to maintain a clear boundary between me and your possessions; and to leave no trace. I understand that by inviting me into your home to care for your pets and space that I am with you as a new friend. From my many years of cultivation on my spiritual, healing, and professional path, I assure you my integrity is outstanding, and I would be happy to send you testimonies and references to confirm. Thank you for your trust. I would be happy to chat about sitting or walking for you. I look forward to joining you and yours' in friendship. Warm regards, Daniel I will be available to be at home with your pet for most of every day that I am sitting. My only obligation that takes me out of house are walking other dogs (1 to 3 hours per day) and then the occasional social or other engagement. I will never leave your pet alone for longer than 5 hours. As a remote worker, both for writing and offering healing/coaching services, I work from home and am therefore able to maintain a comforting presence for your pet and provide frequent outdoor time, play, and other care. I recognize the great trust that people grant me in caring for their homes and pets. Integrity is a guiding value of my life: You can rest assured that I will honor my commitment to care for your space and pets with the utmost attention and respect. I'll honor your instructions for being in your house and caring for your pets. I always live lightly, use no more than I need and am permitted to use, and I leave no trace. Thank you for your trust. Daniel

About: I have had at least one dog at all times of my life, ranging from big to small and young to old. I’d say I have been the primary dog walker in my house since I was around 10 years old and have gradually added responsibilities over the years. I’ve been fortunate enough to help watch, walk, or check-in on friends and family pets for years now as well. I currently have two pups, both King Charles Cavaliers. I recently graduated with my Master’s and only working part-time this Summer while studying for my board exam. This allows for plenty of time throughout the week, or at potentially strange hours to do visits or walks. I am happy to offer check-in, walks, or even pet-sitting depending on how much notice I receive. I previously have had senior pets with varying needs and totally understand every situation is different. I’d be happy to follow any directions on specific caregiving for your pets and make them as comfortable and happy as I can.

About: I have taken care of various different fur babies my whole life. From my grandma’s elderly diabetic cat, to many little baby kittens. Making animals feel safe and cared for makes me feel so fulfilled. I also have been bathing and doing regular grooming since I was old enough to understand how to. Some special skills that I possess would be I’m very patient loving person who has a very big heart when it comes to animals and I can’t wait to have a future caring for them. I work part-time and do an online education program I’m pretty much free for the rest of day. Currently working on getting my license so I can be more reliable with transportation to get there. I will respect your home and take care of your fur Babies in the comfort of their home listening to anything you ask of me. while we wait for your arrival

About: I have many years of experience caring for both dogs and cats for friends and clients. I have also fostered a dog for a span of a couple weeks. Although I don't currently have any pets of my own, I therefore have plenty of love and attention to give to every animal I care for. I enjoy keeping pets active with walks and outdoor play, spending quality time with them indoors, maintaining a clean environment, and, of course, rewarding them with treats when appropriate. I am a calm, dependable, and positive person who values routine and consistency. My goal is to make every pet feel safe, comfortable, and well cared for while you're away :) I love routine and live by my planner to stay organized. I enjoy haveing animals apart of that rontine as well, while also understanding that every pet has unique needs and that some require more time and attention than others. I consistently have Wednesdays and Thursdays free all day. I'm also available for early morning visits and evening appointments, allowing me to provide flexible and dependable care. Your pet's safety, happiness, and comfort are my top priorities. I understand that every dog and cat has different needs, and I adjust my care to match their energy level, preferences, and routine. When caring for pets in your home, I treat both your pets and your home with the utmost respect. I follow feeding schedules, administer medications if needed, keep water bowls full, clean up after pets, and make sure they receive plenty of exercise, playtime, companionship, and affection. I also provide regular updates and photos so you can feel confident that your pets are safe, happy, and well cared for while you're away.

About: I have experience caring for an elderly dog who required daily medication and eye drops, so I understand the extra patience and attention that senior pets may need. I’m comfortable following medication schedules and ensuring pets receive the care they need. My dog is also very needy and loves constant attention, so I’m comfortable caring for dogs who want extra cuddles, companionship, and reassurance. I understand that every dog has different needs and personalities, and I’m happy to give them the time, patience, and attention they deserve. Pet care fits well into my weekly routine, especially on my days off. I currently work 10-hour shifts on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, so I am generally unavailable for extended daytime visits in those days. I have Thursdays and weekends off, which gives me plenty of flexibility for walks, drop-ins, and longer stays. I’m also happy to work around my schedule when possible and communicate clearly with pet owners about my availability. I understand how important consistency is for pets, and I would make sure they receive the attention, care, and companionship they deserve. I always try to keep pets as comfortable and happy as possible by sticking to their normal routine. In a client’s home, I’ll follow their instructions for feeding, walks, medications, playtime, and anything else their pet needs. I’m also happy to give pets plenty of attention and companionship, especially if they like having someone.

About: I’ve had dogs in my life since I was 10 years old, and caring for animals has always been something I’m passionate about. Over the years, family, friends, and neighbors have trusted me to care for their pets by feeding them, letting them out for potty breaks, playing with them, and making sure they feel safe and loved while their owners are away. I also have experience rescuing and fostering dogs, which has taught me the importance of patience, understanding, and helping each dog feel comfortable at their own pace. I’m now the proud owner of Moose, my 4.5-year-old Bernese Mountain Dog, who gets along wonderfully with both dogs and cats. Having a dog of my own has taught me so much about providing consistent, attentive care and understanding each pet’s unique personality and needs. I treat every animal as if they were my own and strive to give every pet a loving, safe, and fun experience! Pet care is a natural part of my daily routine! I love spending time outdoors, going on walks and hikes, and making sure pets get plenty of exercise, attention, and affection. I prioritize being reliable and flexible so I can accommodate each pet's individual needs and routine. Whether it's a morning walk, afternoon playtime, or evening cuddles, I enjoy making time to ensure every pet feels happy, safe, and loved. I understand how important it is to trust someone with your pet, and I’m committed to providing dependable, attentive care while keeping owners updated with photos and messages. I treat every pet like family and make sure they feel safe, comfortable, loved, and well cared for. I take the time to learn each pet’s personality, routine, and individual needs, whether that means going on walks, playing outside, giving them lots of attention, or simply keeping them company. I follow each owner's instructions carefully, including feeding schedules, exercise, and any special care needs. I also believe communication is important, so I love sending updates and photos to give owners peace of mind while they're away. My goal is to make every pet feel happy, loved, and at home!

Lena is truly a blessing! She took wonderful care of our sweet Bear Cat while we were away for two weeks, and I honestly cannot say enough wonderful things about her. Bear Cat absolutely adores her, and knowing he is in such loving and capable hands gives us complete peace of mind. I never have to worry about him when Lena is there, and that means the world to us. She is such a beautiful person, inside and out, with a genuine love for animals. We are incredibly grateful and feel so blessed to have found her. We wouldn’t trust our sweet boy with anyone else! ❤️

This was our first booking with Craig & Chelsea, and it was an excellent experience. Finding care for our senior diabetic cat can be difficult. They are experienced with insulin injections and glucose monitoring, and knew the signs of danger to watch for. They are also very thorough and reliable in their communication, and most importantly, treated our cat with so much care. It was a such a relief to know he was in kind and capable hands!

FAQs for Pet Sitting - Pejepscot

Frequently asked questions about Rover

Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.

You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.

Before booking, confirm:

  • the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
  • the care instructions the sitter should follow;
  • which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
  • how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.

Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.

Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.

During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .

sitters on Rover set their own , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.

Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
