About: Animals have always been a huge part of my life, and caring for them is something I genuinely love. I have hands-on experience working as a veterinary assistant, where I safely handled dogs and cats of all sizes, administered medications and vaccines under veterinary supervision, monitored pets during recovery, and learned to recognize signs of illness or distress. I'm also experienced with senior pets, puppies and kittens, and pets that need a little extra patience or special care. Whether your pet needs an energetic walking buddy, someone to stick to a medication schedule, or simply lots of love and attention while you're away, I'll treat them like one of my own. I know how important trust is when leaving your pet with someone, and my goal is always to provide safe, reliable, and compassionate care while keeping you updated with plenty of photos and messages. I'm currently taking a gap year before beginning my bachelor's degree in Wildlife Ecology Management at Auburn University. This gives me a flexible schedule, allowing me to provide dependable pet care throughout the week. My availability may vary slightly from day to day, but I keep my calendar up to date and always communicate clearly. Whether your pet needs a walk, a drop-in visit, or extra attention while you're away, I'm committed to providing reliable, compassionate care. Your pet's safety, comfort, and routine are my top priorities. With my experience as a veterinary assistant, I'm comfortable caring for dogs and cats of all ages, sizes, and personalities, including seniors and pets that require medication. During every visit, I'll make sure your pet has fresh food and water, plenty of exercise or playtime, bathroom breaks, and lots of love and attention. I always respect your home, follow your care instructions closely, and provide regular updates with photos so you can have peace of mind while you're away. My goal is to make your pet feel safe, comfortable, and cared for until you return!
“Did a fantastic job with our three kitties! Sent lots of photos and left great and cute reviews of how the nights went. 5/5 would recommend to anyone needing someone to check on their fur babies!”

“Abby came over to meet us and Roxy before we left and was very friendly. She made visits as we had requested and sent a picture every day. Everything seems to have gone well. We will request Abby again for future dog sitting needs.”

“Kristen did an amazing job taking care of my cat while I was away. She sent daily updates and photos, and I always felt confident that my cat was in great hands. She was reliable, caring, and communicative throughout the entire week. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a wonderful pet sitter!”

“Taylor was the *best*! My cat, Beow, was well taken care of while I was out of town. Taylor provided thorough updates and lots of cute photos. Thank you so much for caring for my bb.”

“I can’t recommend Kaitlyn enough! She took the time to come meet our puppy, Draco, before our booked drop-in, worked us around her schedule without hesitation, and even stayed extra time to make sure our pup was happy and got some additional play time while we were gone. Wonderful sitter we will absolutely use again!”

“Kim is incredible and second to none. You would think she’s known your animals as long as you have! Very thorough with her questions about your animals and things you prefer and you can tell she has a true love and passion for taking care of your extended family members. We will continue to book her over and over again!”

“Not only has Regan taken excellent care of our dogs during multiple visits (drop-in, as well as house sitting), but when one of our dogs became ill through no fault of his own, he stayed with her past his designated departure time until someone could come pick her up and take her to the emergency vet. I can not recommend him highly enough.”

About: I have taken care of dogs since for around 8 years. I started before I could drive and I would walk over to my neighbors house and feed/ play with their dogs while they were out of town. I have still continued to dog sit every once in a while when I am needed. I am a college student at Auburn University. I am also from Opelika so everyone that I have been dog sitting for in high school, I am still able to help out today. My schedule for next semester is very open and not too busy. I am also available over summer as well. I do have a goldendoodle at my parents house. She is 5 years old and loves playing with other dogs. I also have a car so I will be able to come to my clients house to take care their furry friends for as long as I am needed. Currently I live in a townhouse and would love to take care of your pets here!

Samantha was absolutely amazing!! she went above and beyond to take the best care of our cat Laddy! She spent extensive time loving on him and actually playing with him on her visits and even went the extra mile to brush him both days and scooped his box. I also really enjoyed getting photos and the fun little report card every day. We will absolutely be rebooking!! one of the best Rover experiences we have ever had! It was such a good feeling to come home today and know that Laddy has been in such good hands.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Opelika. On Rover:
- 96% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
