About: I've taken care of two family dogs who became family members, one of which I rescued from a neglectful owner. I was a hands-on dad to my son, and as a single parent knew well how to feed and change him and care for him when he was sick. As a senior, I've the experience and "seasoning" to know what's important, whether it's an infant or child or a family dog, and how to see to it that the one in my care is well cared for, happy, and loved. Since the condo development where my wife and I live doesn't allow dogs, I take special pleasure in spending time with them at every opportunity. I come from a long line of dog lovers on my dad's side, and proudly carry on that tradition. I'm a retiree who does part-time volunteer work, both hands-on with elementary-school-aged children and legislative and policy advocacy on behalf of folks with intellectual and developmental disabilities. My other major activities are staying in shape and learning a foreign language. These part-time gigs, and the fact that my wife works part-time, leave me enough time to do some pet care. I cannot care for pets in my home, or for that matter have a dog, because the condo development where I live does not permit dogs. I care for dogs in their owner's homes, following their owners' lead, so to speak, and according to their owners' directives. Fortunately, this means that the dogs I care for, who know their way around their own turf, do not need to adjust to new environs. As a guest myself, I am naturally inclined to treat the home where I find myself with extra care and respect, more so than I would my own home.

My most recent pet-care experience was with my late dog Sonny, who was 11 when I foster-failed. I am most familiar with handling separation anxiety, mobility limitations, and other senior dog quirks, but have also cared for younger dogs in the past! Because I work remotely (9-6 ET M-F, variable on the weekends), I can stay with your pet full time as long as l have access to a Wifi network. Please indicate how long your pet is comfortable staying home alone for. If your pet enjoys being out and about, with your permission, I can transport them in my car, equipped with a pet backseat hammock, car leash, and bed. Maintaining a sense of routine and familiarity for your pet(s) remains top of mind for all the services that I offer. I will tailor my care to your pet's temperament and energy level. I am privately insured through Pet Sitters Associates (policy effective until Sept 2026) and have received Pet First Aid/CPR training at 92NY (New York, NY) via Lifesaving Enterprises LLC (Bronx, NY) (November 2025).

About: I have had pets all my life and love animals. I am currently a freshman in college following a pre-vet path to one day become a veterinarian. I am in college and work a part time job but I still have a very flexible schedule! I will always make sure to make time for your pets! I have had pets my whole life! I’m a teacher—I’m home all afternoon and evening, and take dogs out before leaving for school. While I’m working, my family and dog is home to play all day!
