“Mathew and Christianna are the ultimate husband-and-wife dream team! They are incredibly accommodating and genuinely eager to help with whatever we need. Genie always gets a solid, brisk walk and comes home feeling happy and content. The best part is how thrilled Genie is to see them when they arrive—you can tell they share a real, genuine connection. Highly recommend!”

“Helene is consistently reliable and great with my dog. She made Izzy feel comfortable since there first introduction and loves my dog like I do. She has been a huge help with my current work schedule. Helene is trustworthy and always updates me promptly, highly recommended!”

About: Hi! I am a lifelong animal lover with decades of experience caring for pets- my own, as well as those of friends and family. To me, pets are family- and I understand just how much they mean to the people who love them. That's why I believe it's so important to have someone you trust, that will care for your pets with the same love & attention that you would. I'm here to be that person . I work from home so this gives me the flexibility to provide consistent care- whether it is walks, feedings, or check-ins. I'm able to adapt to their needs. I do have a fenced in yard; but I like to create a calm, safe space for my animals and I have a routine to ensure consistency. And not to mention, that they get lots of love and attention!
“Alyssa was great! She really came through in an emergency (I had broken my ankle) and had no problem handling our two large dogs! Such a relief! She was spot on time and both dogs had a great walk! Thank you, Alyssa!”

“Kathryn has been our dog walker for a few weeks and I am so happy with her! She is great with Jax, he looks forward to his weekly walks with her. She is very communicative, always on time, affectionate with him and it is clear that she has a true love for pets. She also includes detailed notes at the end of every walk with multiple pictures. I highly recommend her!”

About: I currently have two shih tzus myself. I am very familiar with picky eaters and stubborn walkers. I am extremely patient and will love your pet as much as you do! I know how stressful it could be to leave your pet and having someone you can trust is key to enjoying yourself. Sitting and walking pups brigs joy to my life! I am a nurse and only work three days so I have a very flexible schedule. I love the dog parks and love walking around town seeing all the cute pups. My previous dog had a seizure disorder which made me extremely comfortable in administering medications. I understand elderly dogs as well. Any needs your pet has I would be happy to do so!!

About: The highlight of my dog's day is going on his walks, I want to make sure every pup gets to have theirs! Over 5 years of experience walking my own and my friends' dogs of different breeds and sizes. Experience with shy, timid rescues as well, my own dog is a pit/lab mix rescue from Texas and I was able to build up his confidence through regular routine walking! I have plenty of free time during the week to give your pup a quality walk, currently in between jobs so I am available most days. My dog, Bowie gets at least two 20-30 min walks a day with the occasional hike and dog park visit, I love to make sure he is active and having fun with water on hand for hot days or extra long walks to make sure he is hydrated throughout.
About: I helped take care of my family dog for 15 years. After losing her last year, I am ready to feel the love again, and I'd love to help care for your pet! I pride myself on being very attentive and caring, ensuring your pets needs will be taken care of - all while getting lots of lovin! I currently work a part-time retail job - my schedule is not your typical 9-5, so in my free time I am looking forward to playing with and caring for your pets!! I make sure your pet gets plenty of attention and care while sticking to their usual routines (walking, eating, etc). I want to make this as stress free as possible for them and you!
“Alina is great. Cody enjoyed his walks and play time with her. She would spend sometime playing with him and making him feel comfortable and at ease. I would definitely recommend her 😊😊😊”

About: I’ve lived with dogs and cats since I was a kid, multiple times my family and I have taken care of other people’s animals, including dog sitting and dog walking, along with cat sitting for months on end. I’m currently not working, and the only dates I cannot do this summer is July 1-5, and August 1-9. Other than that, it works into my schedule perfectly I take my dogs on walks and train them, I make sure they’re always fed and have clean water, I’m attentive to their needs as best as I can, I make sure to play with them and occasionally groom them if needed (not a professional), and I do the same with my cats along with cleaning their litter boxes regularly
About: Hello, my name is Tatiana! I’m a 28-year-old living in Woodcliff Lake, NJ, and a proud Rutgers University alumna with a degree in Pre-Veterinary Medicine! I’ve been in love with animals of all kind for as long as I can remember, driving me to pursue this degree! While at Rutgers, I gained hands-on experience working with horses, cows, goats, sheep, and pigs on the university farm. Additionally, I’ve spent over five years as a veterinary assistant and surgical nurse at a pet hospital, specializing in the care of cats and dogs. I’m proficient in administering oral medications and subcutaneous or intramuscular injections. I also have experience with chemotherapy medications, having cared for my dog, who has had a bladder tumor for nearly three years. I share my home with a grumpy 14-year-old Bichon Frise/Shih-Tzu and a 4-year-old Scottish Fold cat with Cerebellar Hypoplasia, whom I rescued during my time at the veterinary clinic. My love for animals knows no bounds, and I treat every pet in my care as if they were my own! With a passion for animals and years of experience, I offer a range of services including dog walking, overnight care, and pet sitting! So whether you're going on a weekend getaway or need someone to take care of your fur baby during the day, I've got you covered! I will gladly send you pictures and video updates of your sweet kitty or pupper! I also am happy to play with them using their favorite toys and don't mind spending extra time for a snuggle session while I’m there! If you're interested in my services, please feel free to message me to discuss your pet care needs! I can't wait to meet you and your fur babies! I’m currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Speech Language Pathology at Kean University with the goal of working with children. In addition, I wanted to continue my passion for working with cats and dogs, so I decided what better way than pet-sitting! I’m available on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from the morning until 3:30 p.m. I’m also available all day on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays! Please note that my house sitting fee covers 10-12 hours overnight (depending on my availability) and one midday drop-in! When caring for pets in a client’s home, I adhere strictly to their established routines to ensure the pets feel comfortable and secure. I follow the feeding schedules, provide fresh water, and engage in stimulating playtime and exercise tailored to each pet’s needs. I also ensure the home remains secure and well-maintained during my visits. This includes tidying up areas like vacuuming around the litter box and cleaning up any pet-related messes. Additionally, I provide regular updates with photos and messages to keep the pet parent informed about their pets’ well-being!

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Old Tappan
Diana was absolutely amazing, and we truly can’t thank her enough! She took such wonderful care of my parents’ 14-year-old Morkie while they were away. When their return flight was unexpectedly cancelled due to a blizzard, we were in a real bind — but Diana stepped up without hesitation and extended her stay for an additional three days. Her flexibility and calm, can-do attitude made a very stressful situation so much easier for all of us. Not only did she make sure our sweet senior pup was comfortable, loved, and well cared for, but she also went above and beyond by helping us shovel snow during the storm. That level of kindness and initiative is rare. We felt completely at ease knowing our dog — and even our home — were in such capable and caring hands. I would highly recommend Diana to anyone looking for someone dependable, compassionate, and truly exceptional!
Karen was absolutely wonderful. She was very friendly, always showed up on time, and truly went above and beyond to make sure everything was taken care of. She stayed in constant communication with both my wife and me, which gave us real peace of mind. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience — 10/10 would absolutely recommend Karen to anyone looking for reliable and attentive care.

Mia is absolutely amazing! My dogs adore her and get so excited every time she comes over. She has such a calm and loving energy that instantly puts them at ease. She is incredibly reliable, kind, and trustworthy, qualities that are so important when it comes to caring for our kids. She also house sat for us while we were away, and everything went perfectly. The house was spotless, and our pups were happy and well taken care of. It gave us so much peace of mind knowing they were in such good hands. We will definitely be hiring Mia again and recommending her to all our friends. She truly goes above and beyond.

Kelliann walks our two pups together (a husky and a cockadoodle). From the get go she was very easy to communicate with and she is very punctual which is a lifesaver when things get hectic. Our dogs enjoy her company and she has been very helpful with them. Highly recommend!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
