“Erick has been an amazing dog walker. We are so happy to have found someone that has the knowledge about dogs to help our excitable husky and is not intimidated at all. Erick's walks help our dog's energy levels, but also gives him enrichment.”

“Miru is fantastic! She is extremely punctual, nice, and dependable. Genie responds very well to her, and she has been incredibly accommodating with our schedule and needs. Highly recommended!”

About: I have been around dogs my whole life and have been involved in pet care for the last 20 years. I have experience caring and walking dogs of all shapes and sizes, young to elderly, and including a wide range of personalities. If you tell me what your dog needs to feel safe and comfortable, I will do my absolute best to accommodate them. I am currently in between jobs as I work towards getting into the Police Academy so I’ll have plenty of time to hang out with your dogs. If my calendar shows that I’m free, I am available for house sitting and daily drop ins for walks and play time. I treat every dog that I meet as if they were my own. I will follow all instructions to the letter when caring for your dog and provide pictures/updates daily, or as often as requested.

About: I’ve always had 1-4 dogs living with me since I was a little kid. I started pet sitting on and off since my 20s. I have experience with small, medium and large dogs. I’m an elementary teacher, with a very flexible summer schedule. During the school year, I’m available during my lunch break for poddy breaks and a short walk or playtime (if close to Dumont) and after 3:45 for longer walks and feeding. I am also available on weekends! When caring for pets in a client's home, I follow each family's routine as closely as possible, including feeding schedules, walks, playtime, and medications (if needed). I make sure pets always have fresh water, and plenty of affection. I will treat your home with the same care and respect I would my own.
About: I have over 12 years of experience raising and caring for dogs, including taking care of puppies from the time they were born. I understand the needs of dogs at every stage of life, from newborn puppies to adult dogs, and I provide calm, attentive, and loving care. Your dog will be treated like family in a safe and comfortable home environment. I work from home, so I’m home with the dogs throughout the day and able to give them lots of attention, care, and supervision. Your dog will rarely be left alone and will have plenty of companionship, potty breaks, playtime, and cuddles during the day. I make sure every dog feels comfortable, safe, and part of the family while they’re staying with me. The backyard is fully fenced and safe, providing a secure space for dogs to play. I live on a quiet street with very little traffic, making it a safe environment for dogs.
About: I've been pet sitting/dog walking for friends and neighbors since high school. In addition I have worked at a doggy daycare, where I cared for dogs as little as chihuahuas to large German shepherds. I genuinely love animals and treat every pet as if they were my own. My priority is aways to ensure they feel safe, happy and well cared for while their owner is away. I have a very flexible schedule, allowing me to provide reliable and consistent care whenever you need it. I'm available for walks and drop- in visits throughout the day, including morning, afternoons and evenings. Your pets safety and comfort are my top priorities. I always try to take the time to make sure your dogs feel safe and cared for at all times. I am attentive on walks and always prioritize safe handling practices.
“Peter is an enthusiastic and considerate pet care provider! He did an excellent job walking our large dog, taking the time to learn about her tendencies and needs, making sure to accommodate her allergies and health issues. He’s also very prompt and very polite. Will absolutely hire him again!”

“Yvette was amazing! I was so nervous to leave my dog and am so relieved I found Yvette! Zoey loved her from day one and had a great time with her. I absolutely loved all the pics and updates throughout the week! She was also extremely accommodating with all her health needs. Highly recommend for your fur baby!!”

I work from home full-time and have a fully fenced yard where dogs can safely run, play, and enjoy the outdoors. I love spending time outside with them, whether we’re playing in the yard or taking a relaxing stroll around the neighborhood. “Kathryn is all the things you’d want in a dog walker! Clear communication, always on time, and so caring of our dog. We get thorough and funny updates after each walk and super cute pictures of our pup! 😄🐕🐾”

“We can't say enough wonderful things about Sam. We'd give him a 10 if that was possible! He took such great care of our dog, Cooper. This is the first time in 6+ years, since we got Cooper, that we've ever been away from him overnight, let alone a weekend as we just were. Sam communicated after each visit and sent us pictures, as well. We highly recommend you book him for your dog-sitting needs”

“Alina really helped me in a pinch, visiting from out of town but needing dog walks while here. She was communicative, responsive, punctual and, best of all, she clearly loves dogs & walking! My little guy was always happy to see her and walk with her.”

“Tere is an excellent provider. She is easy to communicate with, is prompt, and went above and beyond to make sure my dogs were comfortable and extremely well-taken care of. Highly recommend.”

“Andrea dog walked Cody on one day earlier this week (3 times during the day) and I couldn't be happier. Her communication was outstanding, plenty of photos and even documents how many times he pee-ed and pooped on each walk. She was accommodating when I had to adjust my schedule and was very reliable. She even washed out his dog food container when it was empty, which was beyond the call of duty. Andrea has a lovely manner, is very pleasant and eager to please. Would definitely work with her again.”

“Maia was great!! We reached out last minute for a walk and she was able to fit us into her schedule. While we did not get the chance to meet Maia beforehand, she was kind, responsive, and put our minds at ease. Maia followed the instructions we provided and was really great with our dog Fritz. She sent us photos and shared a thorough recap after the walk. We will definitely be booking Maia again in the future!”

“Diana is the best!! I have to say it over and over again... I trust her and my dog loves her. Not just her but also I have a good day when I know Diana is walking Rita. She cares a lot and reacts to my messages right away. ☺️”

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
