“Wow!!!! I have had pets for 10 years and I have never had a better sitter! Jamie did such a great job with everything: the food, the litter, etc. She even watered my plants and cleaned up before we got home! I will definitely be hiring her again and I recommend you do as well 😀”

“Andrea was very easy to work and communicate with through the whole process, and put us at ease for our first time using Rover. She sent great photos and didn’t mind the occasional love bites one of our cats tends to give.”

“Peter is a fantastic sitter for our cat Vader. This is our second time partnering with Peter while we were away. Peter gives great pictures, is quick to answer and is very accommodating. I can’t thank him enough!! 100% recommend Peter for any pet sitting needs.”

About: I've been taking care of dogs since I was 10 when I got my dog. I joined Rover 3 years ago and have experience walking, feeding, playing with, and caring for various types of dogs. I care for every dog as if they're my own! I just got home from college and am looking to make some money as I take a remote class this summer. That being said, my schedule is pretty open and flexible! I am very respectful of other's spaces and make sure to follow instructions carefully. I pay attention to detail and am a high energy individual. I truly love dogs so much and am happy to help take care of them when owners' lives get busy.
“Camila was great with Tilly! She showed up on time and took awesome care of her. When I got home, Tilly was super calm and happy, so I know she was in good hands. I’ll definitely be using Camila again. Highly recommend!”

“Kathryn was eager to meet my boys prior to our trip. This puts everyone at ease. It’s something I look for when choosing a new pet care provider. Kathryn followed all my instructions and was communicative all during our trip. My boys were happy and content when we got home.”

About: I am a 23 year-old dogsitter and dogwalker that has been working with dogs for a third of my life (8 years). I was always surrounded by dogs growing up and would love to keep it that way :) I walk Figo every day - Labradoodle pictured in my photos :) And dogsit Jesse - Boston Terrier occasionally on weekends. Dogsitting and catsitting is extremely mixed into my schedule and I am always looking for more opportunities! When dogsitting, I am always hanging out with the dog. I walk them a little extra sometimes. And will play with them as much as their heart desires :)

“Very reliable, great communication. He was knowledgeable and obviously loves pets. He went above and beyond caring for our 2 dogs and sent lots of pictures. We would absolutely use him again.”

“Chloe clicked with my dog Ellie instantly, they loved each other during the meet and greet. We left Ellie in good hands for one day with Chloe. She stopped by several times during the day and next day to make sure Ellie was well fed and loved. The pictures she sent made me relieved that Ellie was well taken care of while I was away. I’ll definitely be asking her to care for my dog next time I’m away 💛.”

About: I’ve always had a soft spot for dogs and truly enjoy spending time with them. Caring for a dog every day showed me just how much I love being around them and giving them the attention they deserve. As an elementary school teacher, I have more flexibility during the summer, and my weekends are usually free. I’m flexible with scheduling and can often accommodate same-day requests when possible. I have experience with walks, playtime, basic training, and lots of snuggles. I even helped reinforce good leash manners and taught a few fun tricks. I’d love the chance to give your fur baby plenty of love, attention, and care! 💙 As an elementary school teacher, my availability expands during the summer, and weekends are almost always free. I’m also happy to accommodate same-day requests and schedule changes whenever possible! 🩵 I treat every pet as if they were my own. I always follow the owner’s instructions, keep pets secure on walks, provide plenty of attention and playtime, and make sure they feel safe and comfortable while you’re away. I’ll also keep you updated with photos and messages for peace of mind. 🩵

About: *** Please don't send me requests for dates if you see my calendar is already blocked off with those dates & PLEASE READ MY ENTIRE PROFILE BEFORE BOOKING *** I keep my calendar up to date so use other dates if Rover insists you must pick dates for sitting in order for a message to go thru** Also, if booking for day care, after 4 hours of a stay, this is going to get the full day rate because I do not take multiple dogs I am also charging for 3 days when it's a weekend if the dog is coming early on Friday and going home on Sunday because I can't have a dog for 3 days and only get paid for 2 days. I have only raised my rate by $1-2 since Covid & take one family of dogs at a time. Please respond back to all messages if you reach out. Thx. ** I am trying to take dogs now under 50 pounds, very small/small to medium preferred. It would be very helpful if you list the specific breed of your dog too and give details. No aggressive breeds taken, sorry, no Pitbulls. My husband and I both work from home as my only job is caring for the dogs staying at my house. It is nice because someone is always here and the dogs get a ton of attention. My name is Hope Landow-Schnur and I adore dogs. I raised my own dogs for over 14+ years - Bailey and Jango. Everyone that knows me, knows that I am the ultimate pet lover and treated my dogs as well as my children. We have a nice home in River Vale, NJ with a huge 6' high fenced in yard. I am married with triplets - 22 years old and they love playing with our guest dogs. I have my own big crate set up (only if you crate your dog) and ready to welcome your dog(s) into my home when you need to be away overnight or for an extended period of time. I will do my best to keep your treasured pet on their own schedule with feedings, playtime and time outside running around the back yard or if you prefer, walks only. I've made floor dogs into lap dogs, they get extra spoiled with me! You will also get lots of photos & updates when you are away. I just recently changed my setting to small to medium dogs if you are a repeat customer and can not find me on line. I'm also available for dog day care in my home if my calendar is free. After 6 hours, it is considered a full rate instead of the daily rate if you plan to leave your dog with me. Looking forward to hearing from you & I respond back promptly! Thanks. Hope

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Closter
Andrea was incredibly kind and easygoing. She took wonderful care of my cat, and he seemed very happy and relaxed when we returned from our 5-day trip. She also kindly helped with a few household tasks, like bringing in the garbage bins and collecting our mail, which we really appreciated. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and caring pet sitter!

Alli has done such an incredible job with my puppy. She was always on time, was flexible with change of instructions during visits, took lots of pictures, and gave him the attention he needed! She is reliable and a great help. I would 100% work with Alli again and would highly recommend!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
