“Well, what can I possibly say. Gail is one of those people who restores your faith in humanity. It's NEVER easy to leave your fur baby in someone else's hands, unless those hands are Gail's. Gail is one of the most intelligent, trust worthy, intuitive, kind and genuinely incredible people I've ever met. I am so so grateful to have made this connection with Gail and we are truly all lucky that she does this work. I would happily leave my baby in Gail's capable hands whenever necessary, knowing full well that he would be just as safe with her as he is with me. And there is truly no greater blessing for a pet owner. I am eternally grateful that the universe brought Gail and I together.”

“Jessica is amazing! She is very knowledgeable and patient. She was able to give Starsky his insulin beautifully. I will use Jessica going forward, she has allowed me the freedom to travel again!”

“Skyla took excellent care of my cat while I was away.. great communication providing pictures and a fantastic summary of her visit every day. 10/10 and will use Skyla every time I go away if she is available!”

“Eduardo is the best Rover we’ve ever had! We had a long trip over the holidays so we asked him to come 3 times a day and he was so great with our German Shepard, who absolutely loved him! He went above and beyond, sent us tons of pictures and was incredibly responsive and helpful. We were able to enjoy our trip knowing our boy was happy and taken care of. Highly recommend Eduardo to anyone looking for a trust worthy and kind person to look after your beloved pets!”

“Linda is fantastic! She is timely, efficient, and takes great care of our Stuart. He is always a happy boy after a drop-in visit. We appreciate Linda so much for putting us at ease when Stuart needs to be home all day without mom and dad. Thank you so much!”

“Dorothy took care of our pup while we were out if town. She showed up on time and was very responsive. Due to weather, I had to modify the schedule last minute. She was understanding and promptly issued a refund. I would definitely book Dorothy again!”

“Olivia was great! She was flexible for our last-minute needs. She did a good job walking my dog and giving my cat cuddles. I liked how she made detailed notes about each visit especially because my dog was having tummy issues. Thankful to have connected with her!”

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Ocean Ridge
This is our I believe 3rd time using Gail and she was great once again. Shes our go to sitter and our girls, while shy with anyone besides us, come out and say hello to her. She keeps the area clean, follows our notes to the T and always gives us picture updates. Couldn’t recommend her enough.

We had a great experience with Erik and would definitely book him again. He took excellent care of Simba, who requires medication, and followed all instructions carefully. I really appreciated the regular updates—it gave me peace of mind knowing Simba was eating and doing well. We also have two other cats, so it was important that everyone’s food was monitored, and Erik handled that responsibly. He was always on time and very reliable throughout the stay. Highly recommend Erik!

5 stars!! Antonette did drop-in visits for my two cats and was wonderful to work with. She carefully followed the specific instructions for my senior cat and made me feel completely at ease. I really appreciated the regular photo updates that kept me in the loop while I was away.

Always know my fur babies are in good hands with Sienna. She’s so good with keeping in touch and taking pictures. One of my girls was trying to pass a hairball and left a mess. Sienna sent me pictures and asked all the right questions and was genuinely concerned. She cleaned up the mess and helped with spot treating the areas on the couch as I had requested and even put the soiled items in the wash for me. She’s a gem!!! I truly appreciate her ❤️❤️❤️

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Ocean Ridge. On Rover:
- 93% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
