My dog definitely isn’t easy. Karen took such good care of him while I had an extremely busy month. She listened carefully when I explained my dog’s behavior and really got to know him before she started walking him! I can’t thank her enough!

About: I’ve always had a deep love for animals and years of experience caring for pets of all kinds. I have been around large dogs my entire life. I grew up around boxers, Dobermans and Labrador/pit bull mixes. I myself have had a pit bull/Labrador mix, a Dutch shepherd mix and cats. When I was younger I would pet sit for my neighbors from aquariums to bunnies, birds, chickens etc.. Whether it’s daily walks, playtime, or quiet companionship, I treat every pet as if they were my own making sure they feel safe, loved, and happy while you’re away. I provide reliable, attentive pet sitting. My genuine love for animals means your pets receive not only expert care but plenty of affection and attention, too. I work from home and I make my own schedule so I have PLENTY of time to care and stay attentive to your furry friend. I will follow whatever schedule you give me for what your pet is used to. Keeping a consistent schedule is the key to a happy homie. I have lots of walking space in my neighborhood. I also am able to take your dog to a dog park if needed and I am very attentive. My neighborhood is dog friendly and safe. I am able to follow your instructions when I come into your space for how you’d like me to take care of your animals. Constant walks, lots of play time, keeping up with crate training, whatever you need.

About: I worked in a vets office for about a year and have been pet sitting for almost 5 years. I adore all animals, furry or not, and have a passion for providing top of the line care! Your fur-babies are my top priority! I’m a college student who does most of my classes online which gives me a lot of time to care for your furry family. Weekends, Friday’s, Monday’s, and Tuesday’s are typically just for them! I value keeping your typical routine intact while you’re away. When your pet is used to a schedule, I will make sure to follow it closely. Frequent visits, walks, potty breaks, are no problem, even early morning and late night!

About: My whole life I’ve cared for animals of all kinds, including dogs, cats, birds, and more. I currently own four cats of my own, so I understand how important patience, consistency, and attentive care are when it comes to pets and their routines. I enjoy spending time with animals of all personalities, whether they’re energetic and playful or shy and reserved. I’m comfortable with feeding schedules, walks, playtime, litter box cleaning, basic medication routines, and making sure pets feel safe and comfortable while their owners are away. I have a lot of open availability, I work remote with my current job but the schedule is flexible. I can do walks and drop-ins any days especially early mornings. Mondays and Tuesdays I am completely free all day. As I would be caring for your animals in your home I use whatever resources are available. I also have my own cats and dog so I have a lot toys and even extra crates if needed/requested.

About: Hi! I’m Alyson — a lifelong animal lover with a passion for caring for pets of all kinds. Whether it’s daily walks, playtime, or cozy cuddles, I make sure every furry friend feels happy, safe, and loved while their owners are away. I treat every pet like my own and take pride in giving them the attention, affection, and exercise they deserve. I work full-time Monday through Friday, but pet care is still an important and fulfilling part of my routine. I make time before and after work for walks, feedings, and playtime, and I’m available for pet sitting or extra visits in the evenings and on weekends. Spending time with animals helps me unwind and brings a lot of joy to my week! When caring for pets in their own home, I focus on keeping them comfortable and maintaining their normal routine. I make sure they’re fed on schedule, have plenty of fresh water, and get the right amount of exercise and attention. I spend time playing, cuddling, and giving them companionship so they feel relaxed and happy while their owners are away. I also keep the home tidy, follow any specific instructions closely, and always make sure the pets — and their space — are safe and well cared for.

About: I've had dogs my entire life and have experience caring for dogs of all sizes and ages. Unfortunately, my family dog recently passed away, which only deepened my appreciation for the love and companionship pets bring into our lives. I recently graduated from Florida State University and regularly volunteered at Champs Chance Rescue in Tallahassee, where I helped care for dogs of different breeds, ages, and temperaments. I also fostered a dog this past semester, which gave me valuable experience providing consistent care and helping a dog adjust to a new environment. I love spending time outdoors, going on walks, and making sure dogs get plenty of exercise, attention, and affection. As a nursing student, I'm responsible, dependable, and attentive to each pet's individual needs, and I treat every dog like they're my own. I’m currently focused on studying for my NCLEX to become a Registered Nurse, so I spend the majority of my time studying from home. I also work part-time as a Pilates instructor, which is typically only a 6–10 hour commitment each week, and my schedule is very flexible. Because of this, I have plenty of time to provide attentive care, companionship, walks, and playtime for your pet throughout the day. My home is a safe and pet-friendly environment with plenty of space for your dog to feel comfortable. I have a pet ferret who stays in his cage, and I am able to crate your dog if needed. I also have a screened-in pool area and live in a gated neighborhood with lots of green space that's perfect for walks. Additionally, there is a local dog park just a short drive away for dogs who enjoy extra exercise and socialization.

About: I worked at a dog boarding and daycare facility for 3 years, where I completed multiple courses on canine behavior and handling. I hold a degree in Animal Behavior and have been dog sitting for friends and family for several years. Currently, I work part-time as a Zoological Specialist, and previously gained years of experience caring for and training exotic animals. I have a strong foundation in animal training techniques, and my background gives me a deep understanding of behavior, safety, and enrichment — insight I bring to every pet I care for! My own dog, Moxie, was my best friend & lived a long, happy life of 15 1/2 years. She taught me how deeply we love our pets & how much they mean to us. That’s why I treat every animal I care for as if they’re my own! I currently work 40 hours as a Zoological Specialist, with a rotating schedule. My weekend falls on Wednesday and Thursday, when I’m most available. Since my shifts vary, I often have availability during weekday mornings or evenings, depending on the week. Safety has always been a top priority in my work. While at the dog daycare, I was responsible for closely observing canine behavior to ensure safe and positive interactions within playgroups.

Jezabell is exceptional! I have both a dog and a bunny that she cared for and both had very different needs. She went above and beyond to make sure they both had their individual play time, and were both cared for individually specific to their needs. She is also extremely sweet, kind, caring, and goes above and beyond her duties. Our sensitive babies loved her! Highly recommend and will be booking again with her for sure!

  • 90% of walkers can help with special care needs
  • 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 98% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
