About: I’ve spent much of my life caring for animals of all kinds, including dogs, many cats, and other pets! I grew up with an Australian Shepherd, whom I trained in basic obedience as well as agility-course tricks (although I am not a formally trained or certified dog trainer), and cats. More recently, I’ve pet-sat for the cats and dogs of family and friends. This has included caring for an older pet with mobility limitations and a pet with complex health needs and a medication schedule. I understand how important it is to follow an owner’s care instructions carefully, especially when medications or special routines are involved. Beyond meeting their basic needs, I genuinely enjoy spending time with animals. I’m happy to play, provide enrichment, groom, go for walks, or simply give plenty of attention and snuggles while their people are away. I’ve even walked cats! I’m detail-oriented and appreciate thorough care instructions. As a graduate researcher, I’m accustomed to following detailed protocols, keeping careful track of schedules, and paying close attention to small changes—skills I also bring to caring for animals. My goal is to maintain your pet’s normal routine as closely as possible and make sure both you and your pet feel comfortable while you’re apart. As a graduate researcher, I have a flexible schedule that allows me to incorporate pet care throughout my day. My research schedule varies from week to week, but I keep my Rover calendar up to date and only accept bookings that I know I can reliably accommodate. For house sitting, I’m able to spend mornings, evenings, and overnight with your pets while working around my university responsibilities during the day. Because much of my academic work can be done on my laptop, I can often study, read, or write from your home while keeping your pets company. For drop-in visits, I plan visits around my daily schedule and make sure I have enough time to provide attentive care rather than rushing through a visit. I appreciate having a few days of advance notice whenever possible so I can plan my schedule around your pet’s routine and care needs. I know that trusting someone with both your pet and your home is a big responsibility. I carefully follow each pet’s normal routine and the instructions you provide, including feeding, medications, walks, litter-box care, and any household or safety precautions. I’m detail-oriented and genuinely appreciate thorough written instructions, especially for pets with medical needs or established routines. Before caring for a new pet, I like to learn about their personality, normal behavior, feeding and bathroom habits, medications or health concerns, and anything that might frighten or trigger them. For dogs, I also want to know about leash behavior and how they respond to other dogs, people, wildlife, and unfamiliar situations. I respect each animal’s boundaries and won’t force interaction with a pet who is frightened or wants space. I also pay attention to changes in behavior, appetite, drinking, bathroom habits, or mobility and will communicate with you promptly if something seems unusual. In an emergency, I will follow your emergency-care instructions and contact you and/or your designated veterinarian as appropriate. When house sitting or providing drop-in care, I treat your home respectfully and make sure doors, gates, and other entry points are secured when I enter or leave. I’m also happy to provide regular updates and photos so you can feel confident that your pet is safe and comfortable while you’re away.

About: Hi there! I'm new to Rover, but have been housesitting regularly since December 2024. I've had the opportunity to pet sit in Australia and throughout New Zealand with dogs and cats of various breeds and ages. I have also looked after fish and chickens. My experience ranges from caring for young puppies and kittens to older animals with health issues, including pets with arthritis, heart issues, IBD, and asmtha. I'm very diligent about managing any medication or supplements required. In the past, I've had two dogs as my own pets. One was a miniature schnauzer and the other was a mixed breed rescue. Throughout the years, I've pet sat for friends and family as well. I always love getting to know new animals and enjoy taking care of a home and any plants you may have. :) I work remotely and have a fairly flexible schedule, so I will have plenty of time to stay in with your pets and make sure they are cared for and happy. *Currently, I am fully booked for housesitting until the beginning of February. I do also offer dog walking or drop-in visits for other clients from about noon to 2 pm, so this would be a time that I may be away from the house. About: I’ve grown up always having animals. My best friends family owned a horse farm where they had everything from bunnies to goats and even minis or mules. Personally came from a household with dogs, cats, fish, turtles and the occasional pair of small rodents. I am not only able to feed, walk and play/ exercise animals but can also successfully administer any medications, treatments, bathing routines, etc. New to Portland. Working part-time. About: Ever since the age of 5, my family has always had pets around us. From rabbits to cats, to dogs, and even Beta or Goldfish. After I moved to the Pacific Northwest at 21, I adopted a stray cat. Unfortunately a year into taking care of him, he passed away due to uncurable health issues. After I mourned and missed him, I went on to adopt and raise a 2 month old female gray kitten, who is now 11 years old. I also have a Blue Heeler/Cocker spaniel mix who I adopted from the pound 6 years ago. He was middle aged when I adopted him so I really got to learn how to manage an older dog by taking care of specific needs and having regular vet check ups. Two years ago, I adopted two teenage gray sister cats, who are now almost 3. My fur babies are a tight nit family who gets along with one another, and I am proud to watch them grow and flourish in the lifestyle I have made for them. As for experience, aside from taking care of the family pets growing up and being a long time pet owner, I worked at Red Rover dog sitting company back in 2017 for about a year, going to peoples' homes for either a 20 minute dog walk, hour long dog park adventure, or overnights for dogs if owner was going to be out of town and needing something more long term. Due to how busy I was at the time, working a full time set scheduled job, I was unable to make spare time. In the last few months, I have no other obligations with needing to work full time, and am ready to take care of other peoples' animals. I have always taken joy in helping others out with their pets because I know how hard it can be when people have to go to work, be gone all day, go camping a few days, or traveling several days. I know about that lifestyle all too well and always love when people I trust watch my pets. My goal is to provide dependable, attentive care while keeping your pet’s routine as normal and comfortable as possible. Drop-In Visits Drop-in visits include potty breaks, feeding, fresh water, playtime, companionship, and plenty of attention. I can accommodate up to three drop-in visits per day, depending on availability. Overnight Pet Sitting For overnight stays, I remain at your home overnight and spend the majority of my time with your pet. Because I have a dog of my own, I may need to briefly return home throughout the day to care for him. These trips are typically limited and scheduled around your pet’s needs, and your pet’s comfort and well-being will always remain my top priority. If your dog is friendly with other dogs and my dog is welcome to accompany me during overnight stays, I can be around your pets even more.

About: I’ve always loved animals and enjoy caring for them. I currently care for seven chickens, which has taught me responsibility, consistency, feeding, and paying close attention to their needs. I’ve also cared for my mom’s dog while she was away and helped care for my sister’s puppy. I have a flexible schedule right now and would love the opportunity to give your pets plenty of attention, playtime, and care. While I’m not quite ready to have a pet of my own, pet sitting feels like the perfect way for me to spend time with animals and provide them with the love and attention they deserve. I’m currently taking two classes on Monday and Wednesday mornings, each for about two hours. I also enjoy going to the gym and have a flexible schedule around my seven-year-old son’s school schedule. I’m usually up around 7 AM and have plenty of availability throughout the week. I’m happy to communicate with each pet parent and work together to find a schedule that works well for everyone. I’m very attentive to detail and always make your pet’s safety and comfort a priority. I understand that some owners prefer minimal communication while they’re away, so I try to respect that while still keeping them updated when needed. If I’m ever unsure about something, I’ll always ask rather than make assumptions. My home has plenty of space for pets to relax and play, along with a fully fenced backyard where they can safely go potty and enjoy some outdoor time. We have a calm, quiet home with few people coming and going, which helps pets feel comfortable. There is usually someone home, so pets are rarely left alone. If they do need to be alone, it would typically be no longer than 2–3 hours.
