“Abby has been doing weekly visits for our dog, Trixie for about a month now. Trixie is a rescue who has a lot of anxiety and has had some issues with dog walkers in the past (she would hide and refuse to go outside). However, she loves Abby! Abby took the time to slowly get to know Trixie and didn't push her when she was nervous. She was just what Trixie needed. Abby sends us detailed updates and photos each visit which is greatly appreciated. We are so glad we found Abby and highly recommend her!”

“Rachel is a wonderful sitter! My cats have fun and look forward to seeing her. Rachel also gives my diabetic cat insulin. I always feel confident and happy leaving them in such great hands!”

“We've used Yulissa twice and she's great with communication and always takes great care of our kitty. Will definitely continue to contact her in the future. Thanks Yulissa!”

About: I've had a dog in my life ever since I was 5, and I've taken care of my friends pets for even longer! I've also walked four dogs at once, and I'm very proud of that. I'm doing a vocational program around 3 times a week! I have a lot of time to take care of animals. I can even do walks between sessions. I have the space for a dog or a cat who needs a temporary home for a few days in a pinch. They'll be welcomed into a quiet apartment that currently has no pets.

“Julie took wonderful care of our senior Basset Hound. He came with a slew of medicine, a dash of anxiety and a pinch of stubbornness and she didn’t bat an eye. While we were away, she was very communicative and absolutely put us at ease (this was our first time leaving him home alone and using rover). She’s an animal lover to her core and it showed through and through! TY Julie!”

“Magnolia was great. Our kitty Phoenix was in good shape and not distressed when we returned from a 2 week vacation. We got pics every day with check-ins. We will definitely look to hire Magnolia again when we are away.”

About: I have taken care of dogs and cats for as long as I have been aware of my surroundings. I’ve had both for over 15 years, as well as being trusted to take care of friend’s dogs and cats, even those that were rescues and had a hard time being around other people! I love cats the most, but am happy to be around dogs as well. Currently looking for work, but until then I have plenty of time each day to spend with cats or dogs! I am happy to take them on walks or just spend time with them. I like to spend lots of time cuddling them, and do not have many restrictions about environment or anything. I will work with every type of pet and owner!

About: Hi, I’m Sam! My passion for animals started early—I began volunteering at local animal shelters at 14, walking dogs and helping with cat enrichment. Wanting to learn more about animal behavior, I completed a six-month Canine Psychology course at AnimalSense, focusing on positive reinforcement training. From there, I began working professionally as a dog walker and gained nearly 20 years of experience in various animal care facilities. Now, I work from home, offering boarding services in a cozy home setting. I keep my groups small to provide each pet with a calm, personalized experience, ensuring they feel comfortable and cared for throughout their stay. I’d love to connect and help make your pet’s time away from home as relaxing and enjoyable as possible! I mostly work from home, so I’m with the pups for the majority of the day. Occasionally, I step out for a few hours to do dog walks, but otherwise, you’ll find me hanging out at home with the crew, keeping things calm and cozy I have an open home where pets can roam and enjoy plenty of playtime. My 8-foot fenced yard with secure locking gates gives them a safe space to run around. Inside, I keep multiple water bowls around the house and have slow feeders available for my more "hungry" guests. When boarding multiple dogs, I make sure to separate everyone during meals and when they’re alone to keep things calm and comfortable. I also have a variety of crates in different sizes and lots of comfy bedding to ensure each pet feels right at home

About: I have always walked and checked up on dogs for my neighbors and family members. Once I reached high school, I would do overnights with dogs and puppies. My favorite thing to do is play and get active with dogs, especially now at college when I’m really missing my own pup. I'd describe my personality as caring, detail-oriented, and someone that loves to follow a routine or a plan! I’m a student with a rather flexible schedule! I have the perfect opportunity to take walks or check in on dogs in between, before, and after classes! Being a student also means I don’t have much household commitments, so I can usually always do overnights! I love dogs and I will keep my eye on any pup that is in my care. I love to follow a plan and directions, so I can ensure that your hopes for your dog will be met.

About: Hi, I’m Jeff! I’ve been walking dogs since I was 13 and caring for big dogs since I was 22. After my family’s beloved big dog passed, I realized how much I missed having pups in my life, which led me to start walking and sitting dogs for others. Every dog I walk becomes like a brother or sister to me. I have three years of professional experience and a deep knowledge of the Oak Park area, ensuring safe, fun, and enriching walks. I pay close attention to each dog’s needs in real time, and I provide clear, timely updates so you know how your pup is doing, including any potential needs I notice. Whether it’s dog walking, sitting, or check-ins, your dog will be cared for with love, respect, and clear communication. I look forward to meeting your furry family member and giving them the care they deserve! I’m currently working part time, and have a few pups already on my schedule. I am available for early day walks (7:00am - 9:30am) all week, and Sunday from noon - 2:30pm. Your dog’s safety and comfort are always my top priorities. I only provide care at your home, ensuring your pup stays in their familiar environment where they feel secure and relaxed. Before I leave each visit, I make sure your dog is calm, has fresh water, and is settled. I double-check that all doors are locked, leashes and supplies are put away properly, and your home is secure. You can trust that your dog is safe, cared for, and happy while you’re away.

About: I grew up with dogs and I love being around them. They communicate so well and for the most part are very sweet souls. I have cared for our family's dogs and neighbor dogs, feeding, walking and playing with them. Relive your anxiety, I always show up. I am retired so my schedule is very flexible and I have a car so your location is not a concern for me. I can also be available on an emergency basis. I have a pantry that has been very comfortable for cats that I foster. I can keep them separate from my cat if needed and give them a quite place to relax

About: Dog lover for life 🐾✈️ When I’m not off exploring new places, you’ll find me outside enjoying long walks with a furry friend by my side. I grew up with dogs and love caring for them like they’re my own. My schedule varies by week but I know my schedule at least 5 days in advance. I travel often but when I am home I look forward to walking dogs in the neighborhood. I allow the dog to roam freely in my home as long as they are trained. I do not dog sit overnight but can stop in multiple times if the dog is within 1 mile of my home. Also, can take care during the day in my home.

About: I grew up taking care of cats and small and large dogs from the time they were young to the final years of their life. I also pet sit through TrustedHousesitters and enjoy taking dogs on long walks. I’m a good fit if your pet is ok alone for a normal 8 hour work day. I’m a dietitian at a local hospital, usually working Monday-Friday. If I pet sit in your home, I make sure your pet has access to fresh water all day, and food on their schedule. I also keep any harmful items out of reach so your pet is safe.

“very amenable to our pets other than the cats (Rover doesn't let you say you have guinea pigs, frogs, or fish...), and followed all of our instructions super well. very flexible, very cooperative, all around great sitter. thank you!”

About: I’ve taken care of animals since I was a child! I’ve always gravitated towards the animals in the room and friends and family have always relied on me to help take care of their pets, especially for vacations! Now that I am a grad student, my pockets of time are much more flexible for people who need daytime walks and care for their fur babies! I’m also available on the weekends of course! I’m in school for Chinese medicine to be an acupuncturist and hope to do animal massage in my practice at some point! My specific time availability from Sept. 1st -December 1st: Monday\Tuesday evening check-ins and walks after 7, Wednesday check-ins and walks 2:30-3:15, can board because I have school at home - Thursday check-ins and walks between 3:15-5, I also have virtual school during the day. Friday: 12-5 I can Rover, house sit, check-in, walk, board. Saturday I have all day available and Sunday I am around as well. I can do my best to be as flexible as possible around school, especially if you’re close to me in oak park! I’m home during the day doing school work / virtual classes, so I have a lot of time to take walk breaks and play breaks. I’m an early riser and can accommodate for that too. And also around for the random “can you go check on” / “we’re going out to dinner can you do the evening walk” I’m here and flexible! - apartment complex is on a residential street in a suburban area, allows me to easily have access to green space including my apartment complex’s yard - my apartment is one level and has a porch

“Mya was great with my big dog. He’s about 85lb and can pull, but he walked well with them. I think he enjoyed having an engaged, excited walker with him, especially because they told me he was consistently taking 40 minute walks. That is really good for him! Overall I was very please having Mya as a walker and would recommend them to other folks who want a good walking experience for their dog.”
Oak Park dog parents share their Rover experiences
We loved having Mara take care of our pup! She was incredibly reliable, responsible, and we felt very confident with our little guy in her care (and we are paranoid, high maintenance dog pawrents)! Highly recommend Mara if you’re looking for a sitter- we would definitely use her again! ❤️Thank you Mara!

We recently lost our beloved “alpha” Betsy and Oliver has been a bit in his feelings, not really understanding where he fits in. We needed someone to check in on Oliver for a day trip and even felt torn about going. Alicia made the choice easy! She met Oliver and he was instantly comfortable with her even though she could tell he was going through some things. Alicia is highly communicative, attentive, and understanding and we will definitely be using her in the future.

Wow! Where do I begin? Katherine was ABSOLUTELY THE BEST! She did an amazing Job caring for my dogs. She has a very friendly and positive personality. My dogs warmed up to her instantly. She goes above and beyond and she makes sure you are happy and satisfied. She is Excellent/ Outstanding in the following: * Communicating * Taking pictures *Following instructions *Cleaning up behind dogs *Makes sure things are cleaned *Arriving on time daily based on the times we agreed upon *Locking everything back up and securing by our home. I will be booking her again for future dog sitting. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND HER FOR YOUR PET CAREGIVER.
