“Samantha went above and beyond to care for Daisy and Hank. We cannot thank her enough. Hank is still looking for her. We recieved updates daily and they enjoyed all the attention they recieved. Thanks Sam!!”

“Madison was absolutely amazing and I would recommend her in a heartbeat! She watched my 1.5 year old lab Cookie for 8 days and took perfect care of her. She sent lots of updates and pictures and I could tell Cookie was having a blast. She is very high energy, and Madison handled it perfectly and I could tell Cookie was enriched and well taken care of. I will absolutely be rebooking again with her in the future!”

“Paige was wonderful. She was very flexible, responsive, and accommodating. Our dog was more nervous having someone stay at our house than we imagined he would be, and Paige handled it so well and was very patient with him. She got him to walk and eat, and made sure he took his medicine. I would highly recommend Paige!”

“Blaise was great! She kept in contact with me and sent me multiple pictures. She followed all instructions for Athena’s care. We are so thankful that Athena was cared for by such a caring person. Athena absolutely loved Blaise!”

“Elyssa is awesome! Her background and experience was what caught our attention, but she really was wonderful while she stayed at our house with our pup. She went above and beyond to keep the house in order and keep our little one happy. We will definitely use her again and encourage others to do the same.”

“Kaitlyn was a fantastic sitter for our 2 yo pup. Our pup is hesitant around new people and Kaitlyn made her comfortable almost immediately. Very responsive and lots of updates throughout the week. She was also a great house guest, leaving the house in better shape than when we left. Highly recommend!!”

“So grateful for the time she took to care for my boy. She kept me updated with photos and let me know how their afternoon was going. I am so grateful and appreciative for her caring for my pup!”

“Sarah was super friendly and responsive! She sent updates with photos and my animals were clearly happy and well taken care of when I returned from my trip. She also was very respectful of my space and left it spotless! I would definitely trust her to take care of my animals again”

“Carol was patient and caring, sitting for our cat while we were away. Cats usually don't require much attention, especially ours. He feels more secure when someone is present rather than left alone, and his behavior shows this. Carol kindly and patiently adjusted to our wishes by spending time at our home to care for him. We very much appreciated her help while we were away.”

“Nicole is amazing! Love when she hangs with my zoo! Pets are happy and well cared for and she keeps me updated with pictures and texts so I know everything is going well! Thank you, Nicole!!!!!”

About: As a lifetime dog and cat owner, dog walker at a local animal shelter, and puppy foster, I am extremely passionate about animal welfare and very experienced. I have cared for senior dogs, including our family’s beloved boxer-pitt mix who passed in May of 2025, and I currently help my mom wrangle her 120 pound Great Dane named Moose. I fostered puppies of all ages and sizes (and their mamas too on rare occasions) and am very comfortable with all the ups-and-downs of puppy ownership. All that to say, there is no age, size, or energy level range that I haven’t encountered! I don’t mind if your pup needs me to take them out at 3am to potty, needs food that requires 30 minutes of preparation beforehand, or has a medication routine that requires a lot of hiding things in peanut butter. It’s all standard protocol for me! I’d love to meet your pets and give you the peace of mind that they are deeply loved and cared for when they’re with me. I work full-time M-F 7am-4pm, but am able to work from home when needed. I would try to work from home as much as possible when scheduled to petsit, and on days where that is not possible, take half days. My job is thankfully very flexible! I am someone who would rather be overly-cautious to a sometimes ridiculous degree. I will take every precaution to keep your pet and home safe and in a comfortable environment. I am knowledgeable about the health and safety issues when it comes to young puppies and vaccinations/decreasing parvo risk. I value communication and would rather receive too much information about your pet and its routine than too little! Feel free to send me a ten page essay about your pets, their routine, and what steps you’d like me to take to keep them happy, safe, and healthy.

“Ali did an amazing job watching our cats while we were away. She checked in with us every time she visited, sent plenty of pictures and videos, and was always proactive about asking questions when needed. She even helped clean up a few messes the cats made while we were gone. We couldn’t have asked for a better pet sitter, and we will 1000% be having her watch our cats again whenever we travel out of town.”

“Caleb was a great pet and house sitter! He was a good communicator with updates and sent us very cute, professional-quality photos of our pets! We would absolutely use Caleb’s services again in the future.”

“Erin was fantastic! She provided daily photos of my pup and made sure she was walked, fed, played with, and given plenty of cuddles. It was clear she genuinely cared and took such great care of my dog while I was away. I felt completely at ease knowing my pup was in such good hands. I can't recommend her highly enough and will definitely be booking her again for future stays!”

“She was an absolute delight. Took excellent care of my home and my fur baby. Looking forward to having Zubin sit Duke again. And he loved every minute of the attention and walks. Great communication and updates. BIG THANKS and APPRECIATION!”

“Thank you Dana for doing such a great job with our two dogs and cat. You house sat for us for three nights and four days. The dogs were extremely happy with the way you played ball with them and let our sweet baby Ren sleep in bed with you we went away out of state to our daughters graduation and you made the experience so comfortable by always responding and sending pictures of the babies while we were gone. I can see why you’re booked out for so long. We will definitely use you again in the future if we’re able to get into your busy calendar. But I understand why you’re so busy thank you so much.”

“Lindsey really made the effort to learn and conform to my dogs’ routines! Very respectful and responsible. Good communicator and showed up on time and ready to hit the dog trail. Excellent sitter!”
“Malesa stayed with our two chihuahuas for 7 days. She was amazing, she even cooked for them! My puppies didn’t even miss us!! We are so grateful that she stayed with our puppies!”

I found myself in major bind when a sitter I hired didn’t show after I had already left for my trip and Lauren saved the day! Not only was she able to help me on super short notice, but she immediately put my mind at ease by being extremely communicative and asking thoughtful questions about my pups care. She sent great pictures and kept me updated throughout her stay. I can’t recommend Lauren enough!

Gina was absolutely amazing for angus! Angus can be a little stressed out when we leave for the weekend and she handled him with such care and love. Making sure he felt comfy and even asking what she could do to make him feel better. She gave updated and pictures and angus was so calm and perfect when we came home. Gina really was the best for our man and kept our home clean while we were away. I will definitely be reaching out to her again for our angus and I HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND 100/10

We had an amazing experience with Pamela (she goes by Kat!)! We are very new dog parents and were nervous to leave our Peanut for the first time, but everything went so smoothly with Kat! She was extremely communicative, responsible, and sweet to our little guy. She clearly loves animals and was so patient with him. She also sent us so many amazing pictures! Having a stranger stay in our house while we’re gone was also new for us, but Kat was respectful of our home and our things, leaving everything as she found it. I will definitely book Kat again, and am so grateful to have found someone I trust to watch our dog!

Paige was wonderful to us! She communicates with updates and pictures. She brought our mail inside, packages and even wash the sheets of the bed she slept in and washed our dishes in the dishwasher. We definitely recommend her. She gave a lot of love to our goldendoodle. Thanks Paige for staying on top of everything.

Alicia was great! Very accommodating and reliable and Otis loved her as soon as he met her at our meet and greet. She updated me throughout the week with pictures, and I know he felt safe and comfortable staying with Alicia. Would totally rebook in the future :)

Emily is truly an angel! She took the utmost care of my Sophie and kept me continually updated with pictures and videos throughout the duration of my trip which put my naturally anxious heart at ease. Emily is absolutely my new go-to! Couldn’t speak highly enough!

Ariel is so fantastic! She took wonderful care of my cat - above and behind. Very responsive, took great photos, and made sure he was healthy and happy. She is a meticulous sitter and ensured she understood all aspects of caring for him, including his weird quirks. I would recommend Ariel to anyone looking for response, reliable, trustworthy care.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Oak Hill on Rover is $53.28 per night (as of September 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of September 2026, there are 2,637 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Oak Hill. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Oak Hill walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Oak Hill maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Oak Hill choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
