“I am so happy Sara is on Rover! She has watched my cats and dogs for years. Knowing Sara is caring for my animals gives me peace of mind. She checks in on my girls while I am at work. I know my pets are safe with Sara. Just meeting her you can tell she truly loves animals! Penelope & Mille are so excited to see Sara again soon! Thanks, Sara!!”

“I am so thankful for Hannah taking care of my cat while I was out of town. I had to leave last minute for my dads funeral and memorial services. The washing machine flooded the basement, ankle deep, the night before the flight out- not the only disaster. With Hannah / Rover, my kitty was one thing that was in good hands, one less worry. I messed up dates on the app, Hannah fixed it. She called me to let me know the power was shut off so I was able to fix it same day. I accidentally ordered a bunch of books that got delivered after we left, she brought them in. 10/10 would recommend. Happy happy cat and everything good when we got back.”

About: Growing up we have always had pets! So I would always be the one to let the dogs out potty and fill the food bowls. Along with giving them all sorts of attention! I am currently enrolled at Mott Community College in the online program therefore I will have all the time to play with your pets and make sure they are cared for! I don’t have a fenced in yard, but there is plenty of space for your dog to go for walks and have a fun time. I don’t have any dogs, just one cat who is very friendly and doesn’t mind the company.
“Amie has great communication, is thoughtful and thorough. Our cats really enjoy having her when we are away and seem very comfortable with her. We are always grateful when Amie is available to take care of our furry family! She's excellent every time!”
About: I love working with all types of animals and becoming their best friend. I would love to meet your best friend! I am a very clean person and respectable to your home. I work full time as a Business Development Manager. I am pretty open on the weekends for all day and night care and on Mondays! I will always respect your rules. Please let me know what I can do to make it as familiar to your pet as much as possible!

About: My experience comes from years (starting "professionally" at 13- 22 years ago!) of caring for animals with a variety of personalities and needs. I've fostered dogs, cats and kittens, cared for seniors, and administered daily insulin injections to a diabetic cat. As someone who's always had a multi-pet home and has long provided pet sitting, I know how to help pets feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while you're away. I’ve always had pets and come from a family of animal lovers. We’ve owned dogs, cats, and horses. Ive also pet sat starting at around age 10 and some of these jobs included birds, donkeys, and fish. I’d be thrilled with even the smallest job, no matter how last minute! I have a very flexible schedule working remotely. I can likely make anything work! I am open to any day or days of the week. My pets were always allowed free rein of our house, but i will obviously respect any boundaries in your home! Any specific instructions will be followed.

About: I have always been around animals my whole life and grew up with multiple pets, caring for them since they were babies up until they were seniors. I’m 25 years old, going to school at Eastern Michigan University to become an elementary teacher. I’m very active and love to be outdoors! I love and treat my pets as if they were family and plan to do the same for your fur babies! I‘ve cat sat for my aunt and uncle and have pet sat for my friends and family as well as past clients on rover, and have worked on a farm in the past caring for horses, barn kitties and dogs. I really enjoy caring for all animals and i’m looking forward to care for yours as if they were my own! I’m a fast learner and very dependable so if your pets need any special treatments you could just let me know and show me how you approach it and I will do the same! My late St. Bernard was on heart medication so I know how to trick even the stubbornest dogs to take their pills or eat if they’re old and don’t have much of an appetite as they used to. I have recently moved to the Howell area and live in an apartment, however my complex is super dog friendly and my apartment has a big (unfenced) yard behind it (would have to keep your dogs leashed if they’re boarded here) with many trails! I’m looking forward to hearing from you and taking care of your furry friends 😊🐾 My schedule is very open for the summer, since I’m on summer break before I begin student teaching in late August. I’m available Monday-Friday, as well as some weekends! I frequently dog sit for my friends and family, with most of my experience being with dogs between a year-fourteen years old, and same goes for cats. When I enter someone’s home I make sure to never approach their pets and let them approach me (because I know it can be nerve-wracking for them to meet a new person at times). I usually let dogs out every hour or more if needed and enjoy going for walks with them or playing fetch or any other games to keep them entertained. I follow the instructions given by the parents of our fluffy friends very closely, feed times, medicine times, treat times, etc. If I need to I usually set reminders so I have a backup reminder if needed. Along with caring for their pets I also clean up after them, litter boxes, toys, their outside duties, and whatever the pet parent instructs. I currently just moved to the Howell area and have not gotten a pet of my own yet, however I can pet sit your pets at my apartment if they’re potty trained, or can take care of them at your house as well!
“Jonathan and Kayleigh were awesome. They took such great care of my Lucy girl going beyond what was required to make sure she got her attention and outside time. They took tons of pictures and it was clear that Lucy was in heaven while they were there. Super chill, very easy to talk to, would be very happy to have them look after Lucy again.”

“I can't say enough positive things about Christina! She was reliable, conscientious, and provided exceptional care for my two cats, one of whom has special needs. She provided daily updates so I could rest assured that my fur babies were doing well while I was away. Whether you have cats, dogs, or other pets, I highly recommend Christina as a top-notch caregiver. Your pets will thank you for it...and you will thank Christina!”

About: I’m new to the area but not new to pet sitting. I had a successful pet sitting business in Savannah, Ga for over 12 years. I have over 30+ years experience with pets from both big to small: dogs of all sizes, cats, birds, parrots, ferrets, hamsters, guinea pigs, and fish. I have experience with all pet stages and I’m comfortable with taking care from puppies to elderly pets as well. I’m a stay at home mom but both kids are now in school and my husband is a disabled veteran so he’s home to take care of them so I am fully available to be free to care for your fur babies. Staying in your home or doing drop ins, I’ll stick to your schedule on feedings and I prefer unless absolutely unavoidable to let the dogs out every 4hrs or so unless the dog prompts the need to go outside. If the dog is elderly or has a bladder issue or potty training I can let them out more frequently. The pet will receive love, affection, and we’ll play (varying on dogs needs or likes). Animals are like people, so understanding their personality and likes helps keep them comfortable and happy. Cat litter unless specified I change/clean daily. If you have houseplants I can water them or open blinds for them to get their necessary light, I will also bring in any packages and your mail if desired.
“Alexis did an amazing job with our pups for a long sit. They were so happy with her and her care for them was exceptional. Alexis was very communicative and flexible throughout the stay. I would absolutely have her petsit again.”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of September 2026, there are 1,079 sitters on Rover offering Cat Sitting across Oak Grove. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Oak Grove. On Rover:
- 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 99% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
