About: Hello! I'm Melody! I'm a mother to 4, an Esthetician and an avid animal lover. I have owned and cared for dogs and cats my whole life and have pet sat for friends and family over the years. I have experience with large breed and high energy dogs (German shepherd, malinois, Doberman, Australian Shepherd etc) as well as medium and small breeds (Chihuahua, pugs, pointers, bullies, scotties etc). I am well versed with puppies, potty training and leash training. I'm comfortable with friendly cats and respectful of shy cats. Additionally I have some experience with fresh and salt water fish tanks, rats, hamsters, rabbits and some reptiles. I have a routine schedule that allows me to be prompt and reliable. Your pet is in loving, patient hands with me. I only work part time and my kids are getting older and more independent. My schedule is open 4 days a week to help pet owners and make some new furry friends I am available to care for pets in their home, where they are most comfortable and have everything they need. I enjoy getting out for walks and light exercise. For owners with a fenced yard, I'm happy to play with your pup outside, tossing a ball or a game of tag. I follow all instructions provided and address all needs (feeding, water, play/exercise, waste clean up, medications, treats, training etc.). And, of course, I make sure to spend some extra time with pets who enjoy attention and affection.
About: I have taken care of all different kinds of dogs and cats since I was young. I volunteered at an animal shelter for one year in Denver and supported the shelter with socializing recently rescued stray cats. I helped manage the health needs of both my senior dog and cat when they got older. Friends, family, and neighbors trust me to care for their furry friends! When I enter someone’s home I make sure to never approach their pets and let them approach me (because I know it can be nerve-wracking for them to meet a new person at times). I usually let dogs out every hour or more if needed and enjoy going for walks with them or playing fetch or any other games to keep them entertained. I follow the instructions given by the parents of our fluffy friends very closely, feed times, medicine times, treat times, etc. If I need to I usually set reminders so I have a backup reminder if needed. Along with caring for their pets I also clean up after them, litter boxes, toys, their outside duties, and whatever the pet parent instructs. I currently just moved to the Howell area and have not gotten a pet of my own yet, however I can pet sit your pets at my apartment if they’re potty trained, or can take care of them at your house as well!

Staying in your home or doing drop ins, I’ll stick to your schedule on feedings and I prefer unless absolutely unavoidable to let the dogs out every 4hrs or so unless the dog prompts the need to go outside. If the dog is elderly or has a bladder issue or potty training I can let them out more frequently. The pet will receive love, affection, and we’ll play (varying on dogs needs or likes). Animals are like people, so understanding their personality and likes helps keep them comfortable and happy. Cat litter unless specified I change/clean daily. If you have houseplants I can water them or open blinds for them to get their necessary light, I will also bring in any packages and your mail if desired.
