“We had a change of plans and urgently needed a day care last minute. Maritza was so accommodating and I’m glad we found her as she went above and beyond caring for Finn and provided us regular updates throughout the day! Finn had so much fun with his new friends and didn’t want to leave 😭. We will definitely be using Maritza again and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and reliable sitter!”

About: I've taken care of many dogs/cats over my lifetime! I love playing fetch, going on walks, and bringing out the best and quirky parts of their personality by getting to know them well <3 I work from home, so I am flexible with times/dates/working on the weekdays. I am a morning person, so am able to work early mornings if needed! I live next to a huge park and have a big car to take them there. I have a bernedoodle pup at home to keep them company, if desired. We have a large crate if crate is requested/necessary.
“Marina has been absolutely amazing! If you’re looking for someone to take care of your fur babies I highly recommend Marina. My puppy pretzel, isn’t very social, and when I brought her to Marina’s house for a meet up, she wasn’t initially friendly towards the other dogs. However, Marina patiently worked with pretzel and carefully introduced her to the group. I am impressed by Marina’s ability to create a calm and welcoming environment. She is incredibly patient, caring, and always goes the extra mile to help. She’s also flexible with scheduling, which has been a huge help! On top of that, her rates are very reasonable!”

About: My dream since I was a young child was to own a huge piece of land and rescue every animal that needed a home. That's not reality for me, but that's my heart. I've taken care of a variety of animals and dog breeds since I was young. I've trained puppies and cats as well as walked many dogs through their senior years. We have a huge fenced in yard and safe neighborhood for walks. I'm currently working full time and only available for weekends, but I'll soon be off work for summer vacation. Pet care is something I'm already doing to care for my current pets, so adding your baby would be seamless. I have a huge yard with tall wood and cinderblock fencing for extra protection. I have a playful 8 year old cockapoo, two tuxedo cats, and a 4 year old boy who are all ready to play with your baby and provide companionship. Leaving your baby with someone else is scary so my ultimate goal is to make you feel as secure as possible with your decision, knowing your baby is safe and loved!
About: I’ve always had a passion for dogs and they are my happy place. I’ve had my furbaby for the past 3 years and would love to extend my love to other furbabies as well. I am a very patient and caring person and love volunteering to transport of foster dogs. I’m currently not working so I’ll have plenty of time to dedicate my time energy and attention to the dogs I am entrusted with. My world revolves around my dog. I have a friendly dog that I care for as if he was my baby. Dogs mean so much to me and would love to share the love I have for dogs.
“We went on a last minute Thanksgiving event and we were able to book Ximena the Wednesday night. Ximena sent us multiple videos and pictures of peanut playing around in her beautiful yard with her own dog and family. Peanut received lots of cuddles from Ximena and her family as well. We were updated of Peanut’s activity during the entire time Ximena had him. We would definitely book with Ximena again and highly recommend her to watch your fur baby.”

“Cristina took care of our fur baby Cujo, for 7 days of day care. For the first time in his 2 years on earth Cujo felt comfortable enough to play with other dogs. We consider it a minor miracle, and we are so grateful for Cristina’s skill, patience, and willingness to give each dog in her care just what it needs to feel secure and loved while it’s parents are gone. Thank you Cristina!! Cujo will be back.”

“Infinity watched my two girls, Tundra and Delta (German shepherd and Doberman mix) while we were gone for the day at an amusement park and I couldn’t have chosen a better person to do so! She was so communicative, took photos of them during their walks and naps lol, and made sure they were comfortable. I’ll definitely be booking again when we need a sitter! Thank you so much!!”

“We booked with Caroline for a second time and it was another great experience for us. Caroline is great at sending updates, photos, asking questions about Rosita’s schedule, and communicating overall. I think Rosita really enjoys spending time with Caroline… she almost didn’t want to get back in the car to go home!”

“Soo has provided great care while our fur boy Austin was staying with her and her boy Rock. Our Austin is usually pretty shy and gets nervous with strangers. Soo is so sweet to him and spent time petting him to ease his anxieties. Highly recommend her services!”

“This was my first time using rover and Elizabeth did a great job with my dog Josie! She was super fast and responsive when I requested the booking. Very thorough with any questions or concerns I had. Very flexible with dropping off and picking up. I could tell that Elizabeth and her family had a great time with Josie and I do not have a single complaint! Overall genuine experience :)”

About: I’ve been a proud pet parent to my own dog and cat for years, giving them daily walks, playtime, feedings, and lots of love. I’ve cared for friends’ and family members’ pets countless times — everything from energetic puppies needing basic training and lots of exercise to senior dogs requiring gentle walks, medication administration, and extra patience. What sets me apart? I’m a local Downey guy who’s always on time, super reliable, and treat every pet like my own family member. I’m great at reading their energy (whether they need high-energy play or chill cuddles), sending daily photo/video updates so owners never worry, and keeping homes spotless. Plus, my flexible schedule means I’m available for last-minute bookings or overnight stays. Your pets will get safe, fun, and loving care every time! Pet care easily fits into my flexible daily and weekly routine. As a full-time real estate professional and local Downey resident, my schedule is adaptable — I’m often out showing properties or running errands around town, which makes drop-ins, walks, and midday check-ins super convenient. Mornings and evenings are wide open for longer walks, playtime, feedings, or overnight stays. I typically block out time for pet clients first thing so they always get my full attention and energy. Weekends are especially flexible for boarding or extended visits. I treat every booking like it’s my own pet — reliable, on-time, and with plenty of updates so owners can relax. Whether it’s a quick 30-minute drop-in or multi-day house-sitting, I make sure it works seamlessly with my day. I always put safety and comfort first, whether I’m at your home or hosting in mine. In your home (drop-ins, walks, house-sitting): I follow your exact instructions to the letter — feeding schedule, medication, walk routes, play preferences, and any house rules. I keep your place spotless (no mess left behind), secure all doors/windows, and send plenty of photo/video updates so you can relax. I’m fully background-checked and treat every home like my own. For boarding/overnight stays in my Downey home: My place is pet-proofed — no dangerous items within reach, secure yard/fencing, cozy crates and beds available, and separate areas if needed for multiple pets. I maintain a calm, clean environment with regular cleaning, fresh water always available, and lots of playtime and cuddles. Pets get my full attention — no leaving them alone for long periods. I’m happy to accommodate special needs like puppy energy, senior mobility, or anxious pets with extra patience. Your fur baby’s safety and happiness is my top priority — they’ll come home happy and tired!
“I'm so grateful Davy responded to my last minute request. It was my first time using Rover, and a service like this on general, so I was very skeptical of using it. I was also worry about my puppy (Peanut) socializing with Davy's dogs since I hadn't socialized him. Davy sent me updates with pictures and videos which made me so happy and at ease. He is professional, caring pet sitter, trustworthy, and reliable. I highly recommend him. Davy thank you! And thank you for all the puppy tips ❤️”

Sabrina kept me updated and took lots of pics! From dropping him off her place looks so serene, perfect for my anxious boy! When I picked him up I saw his head from the window relaxing on their couch and it made me feel at ease and so happy that he was living his best life with them! I will definitely book with her again 💙

I highly recommend Gileen! She’s a very warm person and took great care of my dog throughout the day. She made sure he got walks, gave him lots of company and attention, and truly made me feel at ease. I needed someone to watch my dog for the day last minute, and I really appreciated that she was able to help! She gave me so much peace of mind knowing my dog was with someone caring, attentive, and trustworthy. It’s clear she genuinely cares about the pets she watches, and I would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for someone reliable and kind to care for their dog! :)

Vanessa was awesome for supporting us on short notice. Cared for Leia as one of her own and Leia really enjoyed her stay. Provided frequent updates and followed Leia’s daily routine to ensure she was comfortable during her stay, especially since it was Leia’s first time. We highly recommend Vanessa and we would definitely book for her services in the near future.

Mario is awesome with our boys. Definitely treats our pups like family and our boys definitely love spending time with Mario. They get excited knowing they will be with Mario for the day when we say let’s go with Mario. - their ears perk up and run to the door!

Henry was very flexible with working with me and my girls. He was understanding with the needs of what each one of my pups needed and he took his time to help my pups warm up to him and feel comfortable around him. He provided me updates with how they were doing and was able to walk them once my pups settled and felt comfortable. Would book again.

Cristina was great with Belle. She answered all our questions and gave us amazing tips regarding our puppy. It was the first time Belle has been at daycare and Cristina made it easy. She communicated very well and I loved that I got pictures and videos throughout her stay.

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Norwalk commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
