“I had been searching for a daycare service I could truly trust with my baby for a long time. My dog has pretty severe separation anxiety, but even after Steven and Kim-Anh learned about it, they were very understanding and happy to take care of Mahur. She is usually very cautious around new people, but she seemed to feel safe and comfortable in their home. Both Steven and Kim are very passionate about training, and they spent a lot of time playing with and caring for Mahur. I finally feel relieved knowing that I’ve found a daycare I can trust completely. I would absolutely love to continue bringing her here in the future.”

About: I have 2 dogs, and have taken care of many dogs & cats over the years! I love being active (playing fetch, going on walks) and taking the time and attention to bring out the best and quirky parts of their personality <3 I work from home, so I am flexible with times/dates/working on the weekdays. I am a morning person, so am able to take them early mornings if needed! I take care of pets both at my house and at client’s houses. I have a large grass front yard, and a fully fenced off house. I also live next to a park and can walk them there everyday. I have a large Bernedoodle and a medium sized Lagotto Romagnolo at home to keep them company. We have a large crate if crate is requested/necessary.

“We love having a home away from home for our doggie. Booch always comes happy and well exercised. Booch can't wait for her next visit. Day care or boarding, we know Boochie girl is having fun with her new friends.”

“Eunice was great as responding quick and Kobe had a great time at her home. There were multiple updates throughout the day. I will definitely use her services again for Kobe.”

“We (more importantly Cody) loved his time at Joyce's! We really appreciated the updates and pictures too throughout his stay! Cody seemed to have warmed up so quickly and had a blast! We are definitely going to rebook with Joyce!”

“Highly recommend Fatima! She is awesome! My pup is sick and had to give her different kinds of medications few specific times. Fatima not only maintained those properly but also gave me updates on time. Fatima also took Kulfi to park to play and I can tell she loved Fatima. Will definitely book her again whenever I’ll need.”

“My puppy is very happy at Magda’s. I highly recommend her! My dog is very happy when he sees her when we arrive. That says it all. ? I feel my pet is in a safe environment and is well taken care of. Thank you Magda!”

“Mahur is a very nervous and cautious dog, but Michelle was incredibly patient and took the time to earn her trust. She kept me updated throughout the stay by sending photos and videos, which gave me great peace of mind. Mahur usually doesn't like being touched by people she doesn't know, so I was amazed to receive a video of Michelle petting her while Mahur looked completely relaxed. It was clear that Michelle genuinely cared for her and made her feel safe. Michelle is a kind, reliable, and attentive pet sitter. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone who will truly care for their pet.”

“We absolutely love Pimpaka! We always know Mamba is in good hands with her. She send pictures and videos of Mamba looking relaxed and enjoying himself (sometimes he has some furry friends there). She goes above beyond to make sure Mamba is loved and cared for.”

“I think i’ve never felt so calm with my dog being with someone! Katherine was incredible with tyson, and you can tell by how happy he looked in the pictures and how happy he came home. She is the best with communication, sending pictures and overall taking care of dogs! Thank you so much again and I hope tyson can come back to you another time!!”

“I was very happy with Alex and his family. They treated my dog like a real fam and it made me feel at ease the whole time i was away with my dog. They updated me with photos of my dog while i was away and it made me feel really happy that my dog is good and caring hands while we are having fun also at Disneyland. They didnt treat my dog any different and they let him play freely in their lovely house. And they willingly let me extend the pick up time even when its late already just for me to continue have a wonderful time and fun at Disneyland. Thank you again alex and family for the awesome experience. I will definitely book you again when im in your area.”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - South Whittier
My experience with Eric was great!! It was my first time leaving my dogs with somebody that isn’t family so I was really nervous. Both my dogs are French bulldogs and it was reassuring to know that he has French bulldogs himself. So I know he’s experienced with these types of dogs. He was communicating with me throughout the whole day and also sent me multiple pictures of my dogs. I appreciated that!! I look forward to booking him again in the future! I would definitely recommend Eric to anyone looking for a dog sitter!!

Miriam was the perfect host to my Golden Robbie pup. Her 3 dogs were very welcoming as well. Robbie and Miriam's doodle ended up best pals. Miriam is highly communicative and sends pics and is very reassuring ! I wholeheartedly recommend Miriam and her care.
We were traveling from out of town and needed a Dogsitter for our little baby Diego and were grateful to find Crisabel and Steve. Diego immediately felt right at home and it was a huge relief for us. We only wish Crisabel lived in our town because theirs would be Diego’s second home. He also loved Billie Jean, their Boston Terrier. Definitely made it more fun for him.

Adriana was genuinely amazing with my dog! She was so sweet, very patient, and super accommodating with my timing, which helped me so much. She kept Potata well-fed, walked, and comfortable, and she updated me throughout the day with messages and photos. I could really tell she cared about him, and he looked so happy with her. I felt completely at ease leaving him in her care. I highly recommend her truly such a great sitter!!

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
