About: I've been a dedicated dog owner since 2020 and understand how important it is to find someone you can trust with your pet. I currently care for my own friendly Maltipoo and have regularly watched dogs for friends and family over the years. My experience includes caring for dogs with separation anxiety, maintaining feeding and walking routines, and administering medications when they can be given through treats or pill pockets. Because every dog has a different personality and comfort level, I take the time to learn their routines and preferences so they feel safe and comfortable while you're away. Whether your dog enjoys playtime, long walks, or simply relaxing with company throughout the day, I'll make sure they receive plenty of attention, care, and affection. I work remotely and spend most weekdays at home, allowing me to provide consistent supervision and companionship throughout the day. I'm also available most weekends and can accommodate a variety of schedules. Because I work from home, I'm able to check on pets frequently and provide regular potty breaks, exercise, feeding, and attention. This setup works especially well for dogs that enjoy companionship or may experience mild separation anxiety when left alone for extended periods. My goal is to keep your pet's routine as normal and stress-free as possible while you're away. Your pet's safety, comfort, and happiness are my top priorities. I live in a single-family home with a fully fenced yard, providing a secure environment for supervised outdoor time and play. Before each booking, I like to learn about your pet's routine, personality, favorite activities, and any special instructions so I can provide individualized care. I am comfortable caring for senior dogs, administering medications through treats or pill pockets when appropriate, and following detailed care instructions. I know how reassuring updates can be while you're away, so I provide regular communication and photos throughout each stay. As a dog owner myself, I understand that pets are family members, and I strive to care for every dog as if they were my own.
“Toby had a great time with Shannon! She was very easy to communicate with and provided pictures and updates of all their fun throughout the day. Highly recommended her service. It is obvious she has experience and enjoys caring for pups.”

About: I’ve loved and taken care of dogs since I was a child myself! From Pomeranians, to terriers, to huskies, I enjoy caring for them all. Your dogs will love hanging with me and going for walks. I have a very quiet, stress-free home (just me and my husband) which will especially be great for dogs that are sensitive to loud noises. I will do all I can to make sure they are treated like family and feel comfortable with me. I’m currently off work for the Summer as I am employed in a school district. I don’t go back until late August so I have pretty open availability aside from some events here and there over the Summer. Whether you need overnight care or just a couple hours of day sitting, I’d be happy to help. I have a one bedroom apartment with pretty open space. It’s just me and my husband (who works until 5pm). We’re in a neighborhood where I can safely take your dog for walks or outside to use the restroom. We do not have a fenced yard… but there is a grassy area for your pets to use the restroom right outside my place as well as many other grassy areas when we go for walks.

About: Animals have always been family in my home. I had a Terrier who I cared for throughout every stage of life into their elderly years, which gave me experience with senior dog care, patience, and understanding changing needs as dogs age. I’ve also spent a lot of time around other family dogs with different personalities, energy levels, and anxiety needs. I understand that every dog has their own temperament and comfort level, and I make sure they feel safe, loved, and cared for like part of the family. Whether a dog is playful and energetic or shy and anxious, I’m patient, attentive, and focused on creating a calm environment where they can feel comfortable. Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine because I work from home, so I am almost always home with the dogs. I absolutely love dogs and enjoy giving them attention and affection. My home is very family-oriented, and pets are treated like part of the family. I will be the primary caregiver at all times but there will be tons of love from my family as well. I have a fully enclosed fenced backyard where dogs can safely play, run around, and get fresh air. I also enjoy taking dogs on walks around Uptown or to local parks for exercise, stimulation, and fun. Since I spend most of my time at home, I am able to provide consistent care, potty breaks, playtime, cuddles, and a calm, loving environment where dogs can feel comfortable and cared for. I provide loving, attentive care for pets both in my home and in my clients’ homes. Since I work from home with a flexible schedule, I’m able to give pets plenty of attention, supervision, potty breaks, playtime, walks, and companionship throughout the day. In my home, pets are treated like family and have a safe, comfortable environment with access to our fully enclosed fenced backyard for exercise and outdoor time. I make sure every dog feels comfortable, secure, and cared for based on their individual personality and needs. I’m available for dog walks, drop-in visits, dog sitting, and boarding. Whether your dog is energetic, shy, anxious, or a senior needing extra patience, I focus on creating a calm, caring experience and keeping pet parents updated for peace of mind.

“This was our first time leaving our maltipoo with someone she was not familiar with and with all honesty Magda was the best choice! She was very kind and understanding that our puppy has not yet gotten used to being away from us and has some separation anxiety. She reassured us about her well being by sending us an update as well as pictures which was definitely a plus, we will definitely be bringing our pup back in the future!”

“Sarai was really nice and welcoming. She took care of my 15 year old baby while I was at work, when I arrived to pick him up I had a pleasant surprise because he looked so happy and relaxed. I think he was also happy that he made friends. :)”

“Jennell was more than extraordinary! ✨ Today was Bread’s first doggy daycare drop-off & Jennell made it such a great experience for him! Please note that Bread is currently recovering from urinary surgery & Jennell was great at accommodating of his specific needs. I appreciate the quick and thorough communication with updates and friendly pictures-videos of my doggo while I was away! Thank you Jennell! We’ll be coming back 🐾”

About: Hello, new friends!!!! I don’t just watch pets I genuinely care for them like they’re my own. I take the time to learn each pet’s routine, personality, and comfort level so they feel safe, relaxed, and happy while you’re away. I’m patient and attentive with puppies, helping reinforce basic training, potty routines, leash manners, and positive behaviors. I understand how important consistency is at that stage, and I’m happy to follow (or support) your training preferences. I also have a gentle, calm approach with senior pets, including those who need slower walks, extra reassurance, medication administration, or special care. I pay close attention to changes in behavior, appetite, or mobility and keep owners fully updated. Communication is a big priority for me you’ll receive regular updates, photos, and notes so you can relax knowing your pet is in good hands. Above all, I aim to create a low-stress, loving environment where your pet feels secure, respected, and cared for every step of the way. 🐾 Pet care fits naturally into my daily and weekly routine because I’m home most of the time, which allows me to give pets consistent attention, supervision, and care throughout the day. I’m able to keep a close eye on feeding schedules, potty breaks, playtime, and rest, rather than leaving pets alone for long stretches. Because of this flexibility, weekend boarding is my specialty. I love having pets stay with me over the weekend where they can enjoy a calm, comfortable environment, plenty of companionship, and a routine that feels like home. Whether it’s extra playtime, relaxed lounging, or sticking closely to your pet’s usual schedule, I’m able to adjust my days around their needs. Being home allows me to provide a more hands-on, reliable experience so pets feel safe, cared for, and never rushed. 🐾 When caring for pets in my home, I provide a safe, comfortable, and relaxed environment where they can truly feel at home. I have a large, fully fenced yard, which allows for frequent outdoor time and safe play. Pets receive potty breaks about every hour, along with regular exercise and supervised yard time to keep them happy and active. Inside my home, pets are free to roam and settle wherever they feel most comfortable whether that’s lounging, playing, or relaxing nearby. I follow each pet’s usual routine as closely as possible, including feeding schedules, walk preferences, and any special instructions, to help reduce stress. My goal is to give pets plenty of attention, movement, and care throughout the day while making sure they feel safe, relaxed, and treated like part of the family. 🐾
“Super appreciative of Janet taking in my pup, Kai, for the day. She was very communicative and I really appreciated the time flexibility. Kai was so happy when we picked her up and we would love to work with Janet again”
“Sammy took good care of my Lola. My Lola came back to me happy both times. I met another family member as well, which made me feel comfortable to meet someone else that was in her house. I was extremely happy with my fur child’s care. I’ve had a bad sitter before… Sammy was not the bad one. I got my updates (as usual.) One thing that stood out for me was the fact that my Lola didn’t want to run away immediately. She ran towards me (as is her norm,) but she was happy to go in and out. My dog child is happy and I’m happy. I will definitely be having Sammy sit for my fur kid again. :)”

“I wanna say if you’re thinking about booking do it because Sonia is really sweet. You can tell she cares about your dog. This was my first time leaving my baby with anyone and I 100% was giving the reassurance and the care. Throughout the whole day, she sent me pictures of him. Make sure he was comfortable and kept me updated. She followed his routine and I don’t have any complaints. My baby was completely happy the whole time with her.”

We were traveling from out of town and needed a Dogsitter for our little baby Diego and were grateful to find Crisabel and Steve. Diego immediately felt right at home and it was a huge relief for us. We only wish Crisabel lived in our town because theirs would be Diego’s second home. He also loved Billie Jean, their Boston Terrier. Definitely made it more fun for him.

Adriana was genuinely amazing with my dog! She was so sweet, very patient, and super accommodating with my timing, which helped me so much. She kept Potata well-fed, walked, and comfortable, and she updated me throughout the day with messages and photos. I could really tell she cared about him, and he looked so happy with her. I felt completely at ease leaving him in her care. I highly recommend her truly such a great sitter!!

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your West Whittier-Los Nietos commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
