“We had Katie stay with our dog Zeke when we were away. We enjoyed meeting her and it was obvious to us that she loves and cares for the animals she sees. Katie was very communicative and responsive when we had questions before, during and after her stay. She sent many pictures that gave us peace of mind that our pup was happy. We will definitely be using her again.”

About: I have had animals of all kinds my whole life and have helped take care of multiple family pets since elementary school. I am experienced with reptiles/amphibians, small animals, as well as cats and dogs. I am very passionate about animal care and currently have a dog, a cat, and several different reptiles. I just graduated and don’t know what I’m going to do yet, so I have a lot of free time to play and hang out with your pets! I can care for your pets however you want me to. I'd like to provide the same level of care that you do and treat your pet like I would my own.
About: I’ve been caring for my own dog for the past 8 years and have always loved being around animals. I’m comfortable feeding, walking, playing with pets, and making sure they feel safe and cared for while their owners are away. I pay close attention to routines and instructions so pets stay happy and comfortable. I’m also comfortable giving medications if needed and following detailed care instructions. I understand how important it is to trust someone with your pet, and I treat every animal with patience and kindness. Pet care fits well into my routine and I have flexible availability. I’m able to do drop-ins, walks, and check-ins throughout the day depending on the pet’s needs. I’m reliable about sticking to feeding schedules, walks, playtime, and medication routines if needed. I take safety and routine seriously when caring for pets. I always follow the owner’s instructions closely for feeding, medications, walks, and house rules. I make sure pets feel comfortable and keep a calm environment while they’re in my care. I also provide updates so owners know their pets are safe and doing well.
“Sarah and Mason took great care of our dog and two cats. When we arrived home after a week-long work trip, we arrived to find a lovely note letting us know when our dog was walked last, and when the animals were fed. Not only that the house was a clean as we left it and all the animals were super-happy. We will definitely use them again!!”

I often feel like I love animals more than some humans 😁 I guarantee that I will take fantastic care of your fur babies and treat them just as I treat my own pup! If you want the best care possible for your pets while you are not able to be with them, contact me and rest assured that your pet will be safe and happy under my care! I am currently to focused on this pet care business of mine because I am tired of 9-5 in an office and what better way for me to make a little money than being with pets! I love this job! When I am with your pet I am always on the lookout for any challenges. I never let your pet out of my sight. Safety always comes first with me.
“This was the second time we had Victoria stay with our pup and cat. She stayed with them at our home for two weeks and we had peace of mind the entire time! She is very professional, easy going and our high energy pup is always so content and happy when spending time with her. You can tell that a lot of thought and effort goes into caring for the pets! She also takes great care of our home! Highly highly recommend Victoria!”

About: I have been a dedicated dog owner for the past 8 years and have experience caring for dogs of all ages, including senior pets. I regularly helped care for my brother’s 16-year-old dog, gaining valuable experience with the extra patience, attention, and support that older dogs require. In addition, I have been pet sitting for family, friends, and neighbors since high school. I am committed to providing safe, reliable, and loving care so your pet feels comfortable and happy while you’re away. As a PA student, my schedule changes monthly, but I often work only three 12-hour shifts per week. This gives me plenty of flexibility and availability for pet care during weekdays and weekends. When caring for pets in your home, I do my best to stick to their normal routine so they feel comfortable while you’re away. Whether it’s walks, playtime, meals, medications, or just extra cuddles, I’ll make sure your pet gets plenty of love and attention. I’ll also send regular updates and photos so you can see how they’re doing!
“Kyleigh is wonderful. She sent regular pics of the dogs - who loved her. I have an extremely clingy labradoodle who found a willing cuddle buddy in Kyleigh. Very trustworthy and communicative - I felt very comfortable having her in my house. Thank you Kyleigh!”

About: I’ve taken care of large and small dogs for the past couple of years. I started with family and friends animals and have recently started watching other peoples animals and I really enjoy it. I’ve walked, bathed, feed and swam with pets. I work part time at a movie theater and have a flexible schedule and can request days off if need be or work in the morning rather than night and vise versa if you need morning care. I Can crate dogs if needed, I won’t feed your pet anything unless okayed by owner first. I live to take pictures of animals so I can provide updates if needed. I enjoy walking and running with animals so if they need a walk outside or a ball thrown around a fenced yard I would be happy to do so.
“Isabel took great care of our two dogs in our home over the weekend! She was comfortable administering their medications, and sent lots of great updates and pictures. We would definitely have her watch our boys again!”

I look forward to working for you and your pets! I work a part time job that is extremely flexible and allows me to work from home, meaning I can look after your pets in the exact way you want! I can spend as little or as much time as you want with them! I want your pets to feel like they are on vacay with me! I keep to them on their same routine while also giving them a little extra care since you are away. That way they won't be too sad while you are gone.
“We had such a wonderful experience with Savana! She stayed in our home with our three dogs for six days, our 14-year-old Westie, 9-year-old Border Collie, and our 7-month-old puppy who had just been spayed, and took amazing care of all of them. Having three dogs of very different ages and needs, especially a puppy recovering from surgery, I was definitely nervous about leaving them. Savana gave me complete peace of mind. She kept us updated with pictures, took them for walks, spent time with them, and even bought our puppy some new toys. It was so clear that she genuinely cared about them and treated them like her own. Being able to go away and not worry about whether the dogs were happy, safe, and well cared for was priceless. We came home to three happy pups and couldn’t have asked for a better experience. We will absolutely use Savana again, and I already plan to have our senior Westie stay with her in her home when we travel in the future. I can’t recommend her enough!”

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred North Kingstown walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in North Kingstown maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in North Kingstown choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
