About: I’ve loved animals of all kinds since I was a kid! For the last 8 years I have worked as a veterinary assistant working hands on with pets of all kinds including anxious pets, special needs pets, and geriatric pets. I’m comfortable giving medications or following specific directions for pets that need just a little more attention. I of course love pets of all ages whether that’s playing with young pets or giving older pets more accommodations. I’m currently working part-time at an animal clinic, so I’ll have plenty of time to care for your pet! I go for walks twice daily already and your pet would make a perfect addition! I live in an apartment with my 13 year old cat, Juliet. Juliet is a very sweet cat but will typically hide when other pets are boarded in the home. My apartment is located in the Volker neighborhood with parks and plenty of walking trails nearby. For in home boarding, pets are welcome on my furniture including the bed. I am happy to follow any and all requests for boarding / caretaking inside your home, including giving medications either orally or injectables.

Took excellent care of our two boys, which includes long walks for our golden retriever. House was immaculate when we returned— she even washed the sheets and towels and remade the bed! “Rachel was great! She did all the objective things well - was on time, fed and medicated correctly, etc. She was also a clear and consistent communicator, she took great photos, and my dog liked her (he's quick to go on a hunger strike if he's stressed but he ate well with her). My cat full-time hides when there's a human who isn't me in our house, but Rachel sent detailed updates on what she was able to observe (e.g., food consumed, frequency of litter box use). After I left, I realized I had forgotten to put the compost in my freezer into the bucket, so I texted Rachel to ignore the instructions about putting the compost bucket at the curb - Rachel responded by asking if the bin in the freezer was what needed to go in the bucket and said she'd take care of it, which was a huge help. We had a pretty bad storm while Rachel was here and she gathered up the many sticks and branches that had fallen all over my yard. Totally above and beyond!”

Through the years I’ve cared for dogs with different personalities, sizes, and energy levels, medical conditions, and I understand that every pet has unique needs and routines. I’m big on following your instructions exactly, as no one knows your furry loved one the way you do. I also have personal experience caring for a senior dog, which taught me patience, attentiveness, and the importance of paying close attention to comfort, routines, and changing needs. I’m comfortable following detailed care instructions and understand how important consistency can be, especially for older dogs. Whether your dog loves walks and playtime or prefers a slower pace with extra cuddles and attention, my goal is to make them feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away. I treat every pet as if they were my own. I currently work full-time remotely from home, from 6am-2pm. Then I nanny from 3-6pm. The only time I’m unavailable for drop-ins is during my nanny shift from 3-6pm, my full-time job allows me a lot of flexibility. I find it very important to follow a pet’s normal routine as closely as possible to help them feel comfortable and secure. In a client’s home, I respect their space and keep things clean, calm, and consistent. I make sure pets are fed on schedule, have fresh water at all times, medications as needed, and get the right amount of playtime and attention based on their needs and energy level. I’m attentive to each pet’s personality, whether they need extra cuddles, a slower pace, or lots of activity—and I adjust my care accordingly. I’m also comfortable caring for senior dogs and understand the importance of patience, gentle handling, and monitoring for changes in comfort or behavior. Since I’m new to Rover but have years of dog sitting experience, I take communication seriously and follow instructions carefully while providing updates. My goal is always to make pets feel safe, loved, and stress-free while their owners are away, while also bringing peace of mind to their owners that their pets are being lovingly and properly cared for.

“My wife and I had Reed watch our two Golden Retrievers for a whole week while we were out of town. We had Reed stay at our house during this time and came home to two happy and healthy pups. He was able to manage both of their needs just fine. Reed was very professional and updated us with pictures throughout the week, which we appreciated. He took good care of our house as well, and we came back to it in the same condition when we left. We plan to try and use Reed in the future if further care for our pups if needed.”
