About: I grew up in a household full of animals and have been pet sitting for neighbors for as long as I have been old enough. I've had dogs, guinea pigs, a rabbit, chickens and numerous other small creatures who I have loved over the years. My profile picture is of my parent's golden doodle! I am currently a physical therapy student at Ithaca College who is spending the summer here in Ithaca and looking to dog walk/sit or pet sit! I am not planning on doing any boarding of animals because of my household's allergies but I am available for house sitting, drop-in visits and walking!
“Once again, Rose has been the best imaginable pet sitter for our dog, giving her love, meeting her physical needs, and sending us professional quality photos and videos. When she's been here, we arrive home to a happy, contented dog.”

About: I’ve always loved taking care of animals. Family, friends and neighbors have relied on me in the past to take care of their furry friends. I am currently working part time as a Licensed Massage Therapist at my own private practice. My schedule is flexible so I will have plenty of time and energy to give your pets warm, comforting and trustworthy care. I care for every dog as if they were my own — with patience, calm energy, and respect for their unique needs. I make sure each pet feels safe, understood, and loved, whether we’re out for a walk or relaxing at home. My goal is always to create a peaceful, trustworthy environment where dogs can truly be themselves.
“Maxine was very easy to work with, communicative, and interacted well with my dogs when we do our meet and greet. I am very appreciative for her help and I felt confident my dogs were being taken well care of. Will book again!”

“Kyle did a lunch time visit, feeding and walk with our 14 year yound chihuaha -terrier on a day where we were away and our dear was going to be missing lunch and a walk. Kyle was entirely responsive to our messages, booking and visiting us to be introduced . Everything went perfectly with Kyle giving us a real time update after he had completed his visit. Highly recommended and very grateful for his help.”

“Michelle was AMAZING with my senior cat while I was out of the country for two weeks! My cat had some recent health problems that required medication administration and dealing with potential incorrect litter box use but Michelle was on top of it! She gave me peace of mind while away and sent the best pictures and updates! I highly recommend Michelle to any cat parent!”

“I am so thankful that Gi could come and take care of my pups! They were able to come to the house ahead of time to say a quick hello, which was so helpful. I would definitely hire Gi again, I felt at ease that my pups were in good hands while I was away.”

“Bill and Emma we're great! They're very patient and caring, and made sure our dog was well looked after. They clearly love animals, and we're very happy to recommend them!”

“Pedro is the perfect cat sitter. He is friendly, communicative, goes above and beyond in all things. Out notoriously shy, cautious cat and he bonded, so we'll definitely be using Pedro in future during our trips!”

“Sara took great care of my cat while I was out of town for a few days. She provided updates each visit and included multiple photos of him. I felt comfortable that he was being taken care of all weekend and came home to a happy cat. I highly recommend Sara and will be contacting her for future services next time I need a pet sitter!”

About: I have cared for dogs since I was young. I am seen as a very trustworthy and responsible individual by my friends, family, and neighbors. I grew up with a chocolate lab who I consider to be my best friend. I have dog sat for big dogs, small dogs, calm dogs, and hyper dogs. I am very cautious when it comes to what I feed the dogs I care for because I know that not all foods agree with every pup. I am a college student with a busy schedule during the first half of the week and a more open schedule towards the end, with no weekend plans set in stone. I will be on top of updating my schedule day to day! I live in a quiet neighborhood with lots of walking trails to take advantage of. I do not own a crate but would happily use one if temporarily provided.
“100% great! Veronica was able to meet my short notice request and care for my cat while I was away. My cat doesn't normally like cat sitters, but she was clearly less stressed with Veronica compared to others I've in the past (no stress shedding or loss of weight). Would absolutely recommend!”

About: I’ve been petsitting dogs and cats since I was in elementary school. I have cared for older and younger dogs. I have a large dog and a medium sized dog at home. I am home from college for the summer looking to walk and pet sit part-time. I am pretty available as of right now, especially for daytime walks. I will prioritize the safety of your pet on a walk and while petsitting or visiting. I have walked difficult dogs before, so I am prepared.
“Killian's a shy, skittery furball, who to my joy greeted Rachel at the door! (doesn't do for me😹). Rachel took care of Killian for several days when I was in the hospital and I didn't have to worry about him at all. Rachel did three visits a day-fed, watered, cleaned the litter box, played and snuggled. I was overjoyed with pics of Killian playing and snuggling. I now feel like I have to book a play date for the two of them. Seriously, I highly recommend Rachel. She's a lovely, caring, person who made my Killian know he is loved. Rachel is now Killian's forever sitter until one of us moves.”

About: Growing up I have always had cats and dogs. I’ve watched my neighbors, family, and friends pets while they were away from home. I am very attentive to the animal and their individual needs. Whether we are playing in the yard, going on walks/jogs, or just hanging out on the couch. I have two dogs of my own and can appreciate how much they miss their owner and how much their owner misses them while they are away. You can count on me to care for your pet and send updates if you like! I’m currently working remote and have flexible hours that allows me to hop over on short notice to check on your pet. Or I can work from your home while keeping a closer eye on your pet. I know how energetic some pets can be. I love running and if requested I can take the dog on a jog or throw a ball in the yard. I also give unlimited pets and cuddles.
“Shyanne was great with our cats, making sure that the shyer one still was fed by leaving treats in their hiding spots, and giving attention and all the belly rubs to our more playful one. She sent pictures with each visit, and even looked after them a couple extra days when we were unexpectedly detained. She was absolutely awesome and a great communicator - our cats were in phenomenal hands!!”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Newfield
First time using Rover and I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t so incredibly nervous. McKayla made this experience so stress-free. My dogs are not big on other people and they LOVED McKayla. Even my cats immediately attracted to her. They all felt comfortable with her which in turn made me feel that much better. McKayla also we very thorough and even cleaned up any messes and kept any crates clean & dry. Saying I HIGHLY recommend her is honestly an understatement. If you’re worried at all, go with McKayla and I promise you won’t have to worry about anything.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. While Rover doesn’t offer traditional subscription services, some sitters offer recurring bookings for services like home visits and dog walking.
