About: Experienced, loving auntie gives you peace of mind when you’re island-hopping or going on vacation. I have a Bachelor of Science Degree in Canine Studies (Cynology) & am fortunate to have been mentored by Dr. Bonnie Bergin, the woman who created the Service Dog. I’m on the Board of Directors of Hawaii Fido, Hawaii’s 1st Service Dog organization, & I’ve trained dogs for Guide Dogs, Hearing Dogs, & various animal shelters. Ask me about my Board & Train service🐶 I’m a full time professional Pet Sitter who works from home. About: Dogs have been my quiet passion since childhood. I used to collect dog-themed postcards, books, and just about anything related to them. Calming dogs was even considered my “special skill” as a kid—and to this day, I still find joy in helping shy or anxious pups feel safe and loved. As a freelance designer who once dreamed of becoming a veterinarian, I bring that same care, sensitivity, and attention to detail into the way I care for animals. I naturally read each pet’s body language and adapt to their emotional needs—whether they need a slow, gentle approach or playful companionship. Even now, my husband and I sometimes visit service dogs at our local library to read books to them—just to spend time with dogs while we miss our own pup who lives with our parents on the mainland. Caring for dogs isn’t just something I do—it’s something I truly love. I work from home on weekdays with a flexible schedule—typically between 8 AM and 4 PM—but I’m happy to adjust as needed to fit your pet’s care routine. I’m available throughout the day for walks, drop-ins, or simply keeping your pet company. Evenings are also open, and my husband (who’s just as passionate about dogs!) often joins me in caring for them. Saturdays are also available, while Friday nights and Sundays may be limited due to church commitments. Above all, I’m committed to being present, responsive, and reliable—ensuring your pet always feels safe, loved, and well cared for. To start, I’m focusing on dog walking and drop-in visits outside the home. I live in a cozy two-bedroom condo with an ocean view, which is currently best suited for small to medium-sized dogs. As I gain more experience and build trust with each pet I care for, I plan to gradually offer in-home daycare as well. Our space is clean, quiet, and filled with warmth—perfect for dogs who enjoy a calm, cozy environment with lots of love. Whether I’m walking your dog or caring for them at home, safety, comfort, and trust are always my top priorities.

About: My life is best when it's full of furry friends! I've grown up with a dog, and even when I came to college I quickly found families with dogs to hang out with being away from home! I've been trusted to dog sit, walk and take care of a variety of dogs of different sizes/needs throughout college, and I would love to do it more. I also have experience giving dogs medication/helping them swallow pills. Possibly like your dog, I love long walks, being outside and end-of-day cuddles! I am a current Doctor of Physical Therapy student at Hawaii Pacific University. I moved in August from Raleigh, North Carolina. I only go for in person lab about every 2 months which I am marking off my calendar, and on zoom working hard the rest of the time! That being said, I have a lot of flexibility in my schedule to stay with/check in on your pet frequently. Long walks with the company of a furry friend would really be an awesome way to take a break! I have always been an early riser and am prepared to get up early to attend to responsibilities with a dog! I usually get up at 6 or before no matter what the day entails, so I will not keep your dog waiting for breakfast, a walk and a potty break! Also I would like to include that my photo send percentage is low on Rover, because people usually prefer me texting them updates instead of sending them through the app- I can do whichever! I am very active and frequently go on long walks and can go out on adventures if your furry friend would like to join me! I would love to follow your routine schedule with the dog as well, and my schedule gives me the flexibility to do so!

“Excellent care - so communicative, sent photos while I needed to be out, and my dog was returned to me so calm and happy. She was clearly well loved and cared for by Lovina and her partner. As a dog parent, I could not ask for any better! Highly recommend!”

About: I have a happy girlie herd of 5 guineapigs. I spend a lot of time caring for not only their nutrition and health but their enrichment, too! How does this apply to your dog, cat or misc cutie pie? I'm a diligent pet owner and pick up on pet behavior and cues quickly. In my home, their safety is my priority and no sweetheart with "please pet me!!" Eyes will be ignored. I'm much more patient with animals than I could ever want to be with people. Dog is a leash puller? Okay, long walks then and playtime to drain their hyper meter. I have had dogs in my home most of my life, cats and now just guineapigs. They have their own room and are safe for me to host your pet. I work from home doing the exciting (To me) work of accounting! I have a comfy couch and two hands to administer belly rubs, a quiet apartment with lots of natural light and valley breeze. I would take your dog out for a walk early morning, afternoon and before bed. If your dog loves to play with toys to tire themselves out, bring them because I will play with them until they are napping on my couch. As for leaving the home, I will try not to leave your pet for very long, only to get groceries or grab something from the store. If your dog has severe separation anxiety please let know. There may be ways to reduce their anxiety for short stays. I have guineapigs and by default I know how to pet proof an area because they chew on anything they can. For dogs and cats I just mimic this and anticipate what they might get into if I don't secure the area. My guineapigs have their own room and cage that for dogs bred originally for their prey drive will never interact with as I can shut their door. Your pets will never get food from me you haven't authorized to include accidentally dropping food. Im immune to begging puppy eyes for table scraps. On walks, I will pick less busy times and avoid other dogs. I wouldn't want an unfriendly neighbor dog to interact with your sweetie. Emergencies. I will call you, then your vet l, ER vet or feather and fur in Kailua a 24hr Vet ER. It's a 30 ish minute drive from my home I have made in the past for my own guineapigs health. Your pet is in safe hands.

“Family is awesome, they were able to take in our dog on short notice. Our girl Tilly came home tired, she was able to get all her energy out. We appreciate you guys!”

“Scott was so great with Kona and flexible with my schedule changes. He was patient, understanding, attentive, and informative of Kona’s time. He shared lots of pics, which made me feel at ease leaving Kona in his care. And he worked on some basic training with her. Scott and his family took such excellent care of her, couldn’t have asked for better.”

“Charisse was so kind and loving with my young golden retriever, taking excellent care of him during his first visit with her when he was feeling a bit anxious that I left him. She also gave me some wonderful, professional tips about how to care for his long fur and possibly training him to be a service dog. I needed the time to get some errands done, being a single mum and caregiver to a child with a chronic illness. Thank you so much for your amazing help, Charisse! :)”

“I always worry about my baby, but just sitting and talking for a bit I felt more comfortable and could see Rylie was too. I picked her up and she immediately fell asleep. Always a good sign.”

About: I have taken care of pets for friends and family and friends of friends. Just like when I teach in schools, I provide a safe and welcoming space. I have experience walking, hiking, feeding, giving baths, giving medicine, and teaching new tricks to dogs. I have cared for cats as well. In my adult years I've had three dogs of my own and two cats. I have used Rover before for my dog, and now would love to provide great service for other peoples' dogs and cats, like how Rover sitters did for my dog. I value communication and look forward to sending my clients photos frequently of all the fun their pet is having when being taken care of by me. I have a baby, so I am home a lot. My schedule is very flexible. I can provide lots of love, playtime, and walks for your pet. If your pet stays with me, your pet will receive frequent walks as exercise is important to me for the pet's health and my own. Lots of love, treats, and cuddles to give here!

Jodie M.
“Lucky to have been able to bring a Golden Retriever puppy into our home three years ago - our first dog in more than 25 years. And, the way people today care for their dogs is quite different. We were very happy to have met Jodie Miller when our GR was quite young and selected Jodie from a wealth of other dog trainers at four months old...as Goldens are quite rambunctious! We were so happy we did so young as she was able to ensure our puppy would be a happy and well-trained dog, which he is today after three years. He is adored by so many in our neighborhood and just loves Jodie, so gentle with little children and very polite with other dogs. Her background, education and training is impeccable, and she sure knows how to make sure the hoomans are well-trained as well - which is critical to the success of a puppy's training. She taught us a lot and the best part, she is always available to us (and all of her clients) any time for a quick chat, or a stop-by to ensure our GR maintains what he was trained to learn. We are very grateful for Jodie and consider a very close friend of our family. Thank you Jodie for being patient with our pup's parents/brother and for being a terrific asset for the welfare of our Golden.”
