“Alaina was absolutely awesome- I can’t recommend her highly enough! Her communication was excellent — she responded quickly, clearly, and kept me updated throughout the entire time she was watching our pup. We appreciated the daily photo updates. It’s obvious that Alaina truly loves animals and treats them like family. I’ll definitely be booking with her again. If you’re looking for a trustworthy, kind, and reliable dog sitter, Alaina is it!”

“My dog stayed with Christopher for five days. After the initial meet and greet I knew my pupper was in great hands! I got pictures every day. I felt very secure and was able to relax on my vacation knowing he was so well taken care of!”

“Katelyn was great while watching our dog over our long vacation- Great communication, along with some pictures of our pup! Katelyn even stayed an additional night for us when we ran into some car trouble and wouldn’t be home when planned. Thanks Katelyn!”

“Tranae was a phenomenal house and dog sitter while we were away for an extended holiday weekend. She kept in touch, sent photo/video updates and went above and beyond in many ways. Highly recommend!”

“Gabby was wonderful! We had a last minute trip come up and I chose Gabby based on her reviews to house sit and dog sit for us. She sent us photos of walks with Charlie and communicated throughout the weekend. I would definitely recommend Gabby and will absolutely use her again!”

“Allison took care of my babies like they were her own. I’m so happy to have found her and will continue to use her as my #1!! She puts my mind at ease, knowing the pups are being taken care of!”

About: I have an older pup with health issues so i understand the need to have the times and certain circumstances prioritized! For kitties i understand it’s hard for them to warm up and i am very patient and want them to feel comfortable regardless of where they are! I work 12am-12:30pm saturday through monday so during the week i have some down time and what better way to fill it than watch some cuties! For Dogs: I take the pups out on leashes but if you have a fenced yard i can obviously watch them and play with them outside that way! With owner permission i can take them to the dog parks and get more energy out that way! i do not mind dogs getting dirty and then getting in my car. For Cats: I can bring some toys, cat nip, and treats if allowed! I want them to feel comfortable in either their own environment with me there or in my home. Change can be a lot of them but i want all kitties to feel welcomed and calm with me!
“Cheyanne did a great job watching our home and taking care of our Poppy dog. She gave photo updates everyday which was nice to see he was in good hands. Coming home to a clean home and happy pup was nice. We would hire her again and recommand her to anyone.”

“Adam left our house spotless, handled our rescue getting sick in his kennel, and we came home to happy dogs. He had some extra help from some of our family, because they know our dogs have separation anxiety. He told us he is just getting started and he did a good job dealing with our quirky dogs.”
About: I have several years of personal and professional experience with animals of all sizes- dogs, cats, reptiles, rodents, swine, etc. I have my B.S. in Neuroscience with a focus on Animal Behavior and am currently working on my graduate degree and obtaining certifications to become a research surgeon. I can comfortably provide services like nail trims, bathing, some grooming, anal gland expression, and medication administering (oral, injectable, etc). I am also CPR certified and have a professional experience and background in emergency/ICU medicine. I have experience working in a fear-free clinic and have a quirky shepherd of my own so babies with fear/reactivity are more than welcome. I would love to take care of your babies and make you feel like they are in safe hands so you can enjoy your time away! I have open availability on weekends and holidays. Weekdays I typically work 7-3pm but can be flexible and stop in if needed or make additional arrangements. After work and before work, my time would be dedicated to them! I can easily crate your animal if needed. I have a safe, pet proofed townhouse that would be comfortable for any animal big or small. I have my own private backyard in a quiet neighborhood. I am very flexible depending on each animals needs!
“Daniel was so helpful during his stay at our house! He helped bring the garbage in, collected our packages that were delivered while we were gone and even helped water our plants. We recieved daily pictures and updates about the animals and even an update of wind damage our property endured while we were hone. We will happily have Daniel help us again with our future trips!”

About: I’ve been around all types of animals my entire life. I grew up with snakes, lizards, mice, dogs, cats, fish, bunnies, etc. I have had the privilege of taking care of other people’s animals since I was 10 years old. I have worked with senior animals, medical needs animals, puppies/kittens, and animals of all sizes and shapes. I am a full time teacher during the school year, but am available until the end of August most days and then will be available after 3 PM weekdays and most weekends. When watching another persons animal, I like to provide a sense of normalcy for the animal as they often can be confused by a new person. I work to ensure the animal knows that it’s still cared for and loved.

About: Having experience in taking care of animals since I was young and going on to intern at a vet clinic and being a member of FFA, I have learned to have compassion and love to take care of animals of all shapes, sizes, and breeds. I am currently working weekends, so I'll have plenty of time to play and have interactive fun with pets during the week days and am willing to accommodate whatever they need. With a fenced in lawn I offer a secure and loving home away from home for your furry companion. Prioritizing their safety and well-being in a calm environment with experienced, trustworthy care.
“Jersey was absolutely phenomenal! Luna loved her! Jersey sent me pictures and updates on her and how things were going. She was taken on walks and played with and was even tired out when I came home! She brought her dog with her (with permission) so Luna got plenty of play time. Overall Jersey was polite, punctual and an amazing dog sitter. I will definitely be using her again in the future!”

About: I have been around cats, dogs and farm animals my entire life. I have had multiple cats and dogs at all times and of all sizes. I am very hard working, communicative, dependable and very flexible! I am currently working at a marina but am very flexible to work around that schedule for mornings, evenings, weekends and weekdays. I have a car and am able to come on short notice. I have no issues crating animals or following safety instructions and being respectful of other people’s homes and pets. I do not have a fenced in yard but live just down the road from a fenced dog park.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Muskegon Charter Township walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Muskegon Charter Township maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Muskegon Charter Township choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
