“Lisa was wonderful! I had a death in my family and needed someone asap for my 3 dogs. Lisa came out immediately to meet my boys. She did a great job and I would use her again. Thanks Lisa!”

“Barbara is a fantastic pet sitter. She loves our cats and takes great care of them when we are out of town. We get detailed updates on their activities and can rest easy they are in good hands.”

“Elaine is truly an angel. She was heaven sent. Our elderly Chihuahua is difficult and she was able to take care of him and made it seem effortless. She even had to sing to him to get him to get out of his bed!!! She sent pictures and communicated in real time. We are very grateful for her and would give a 10 star review if that was an option. Thank you Elaine!”

“This is our second time having Claire take care of our cat and she continues to do a wonderful job. She is reliable and easy to communicate with. We can tell our cat is comfortable around her. Would absolutely recommend Claire’s services!”

About: I have been taking care and pet sitting all kinds of pets and animals since I was 16 years old. I have worked in dog daycares and boarding facilities for around 3 years. I have been trained in dog behavior, temperament, and care. I have a lot of experience with providing dogs and other pets with the proper care they deserve. I love all kinds of animals and want to provide the best care for your pets. I am currently not working so I have lots of available time to provide visits and care for your pets. I am more available during the daytime but can do evening visits as well. I cannot provide care in my own home but I am very open and willing to provide care in my clients home. I love and care about routines so any routine your pet needs to follow I will be able to provide that in my clients home.
About: Having a built-in best friend since I was born has changed my life and has shaped me into myself. Having now had three dogs and been a dog-sitter for family and neighbors for years, I am a very experienced dog-sitter with training experience. After moving back to Mountainside, NJ after 5 years in Washington, D.C., I am blessed to be working locally at a start-up in town. I have a lot of open time and actively look forward to helping support you and your dog(s). I am a very respectful dog-sitter in people's houses and never touch anything unless necessary to care for the dog(s). Having a conversation about what exactly the dog-owner(s) are looking for in a dog-sitter is important to set boundaries so everyone is on the same page. I am very experiences in both dog-sitting and dog-walking.

“Kimberly was great with our two dogs during our vacation. She is very responsive and caring. One of our pups had an allergy flare up while we were gone and Kimberly was able to give our dog her medicine. I would definitely book with Kimberly again!”

“Marlee did an extraordinary job watching our cat—responsible, attentive, and clearly an animal lover. We know Cheddar had a great time with her! Will absolutely hire her again!”

“Jiajia took such good care of my anxious and elderly cat. She made such an effort to make her feel comfortable and to help her come out of her shell. It’s clear she really loves and cares for cats, will definitely rebook in the future!”

“Jessica is an excellent pet sitter, she was very lovely with our Bella 😸 ❤️ she took care of Bella very well 🤩 I will definitely call her again! She left us a nice handmade present!”

“Sam is always on time, communicative, and ready to interact with Boss whether it is an attempted walk in this current heat, play time in the backyard, lick mat moments, or lots of pets & cuddles. We appreciate the love she gives Boss when we’re out for an extended period!”

About: I come from a long line of dog lovers! I’ve been around dogs my whole life, and it’s been a privilege to continue spending my days with my favorite animal. I’ve walked and dogsat for neighbors and family friends since I graduated college in 2021. I’ve also worked at Wonder Dog Studio in Summit, NJ, where I was a Daycare Manager and Driver. So, if your pup loves the car, I’d be happy to take them for a drive! My schedule is very flexible for day time walks and care. I’m also a Stand Up Comedian, whose shows are normally at night, either in NJ or NYC. I’ll always make sure your pup is taken care of before I head out, and have a network of other dog sitters to help me out if needed. I always make sure the pets in my care never feel lonely! I’ll sit on the couch with them while I work, read a book, or watch TV. While staying in someone’s home, I make sure that doors are locked before I head out, as well as leave the TV or music on for anxious pets. Finally, I always make sure to send the owner pictures of their pet at least twice a day!
“Ashley communicated clearly and kept me updated on how our pups were doing. One of our dogs needs a little extra care, so the details and photos really help ease my anxiety. I already have her booked for another visit!”

“Diane & Dave were great! Being a new cat mom, I was struggling to give Bianco the meds he needed. They helped me successfully give Bianco his medicine and they were so sweet with him. Thank you!!”

About: Hi, I’m Danielle! I’ve been the proud owner of a chocolate cockapoo, Hershey, for 11+ years now. Although I’m very familiar with mixed breeds as a result of owning one myself, I adore dogs of all breeds and sizes. I can’t wait to meet and play with your dog soon! I’m currently working at home with a flexible schedule. I’ve always been a dog-lover and hope to integrate more dog walking and pet sitting into my weekly routine. I’m very familiar with all sorts of pet care, from dog walking to pet sitting. I frequently take my own dog on long walks/hikes, to vet/grooming visits, and more!

About: I’m a lifelong dog lover and proud dog owner with over 30 years of experience caring for dogs. I truly can’t imagine my life without them! ❤️ When your dog stays with me, I treat them like they are part of my own family. I have a wonderful family who absolutely loves animals, and I’ve always taught my two children the importance of loving, respecting, and caring for them. Our home has a large, fully fenced backyard with plenty of space for your pup to run, play, and enjoy the outdoors safely. During the summer, they can enjoy our dog pool, and during the colder months, they have their own cozy space with a fireplace, comfortable couch, and TV. 🐶❤️ I also love keeping pet parents connected. I FaceTime several times throughout the stay so you can see your baby, check in, and have peace of mind while you’re away. My children and my dog are very accustomed to having other dogs in our home, and we make every effort to ensure each guest feels comfortable, safe, and loved. For boarding, I only book one dog at a time, allowing me to give your pup the individual attention and care they deserve. Dates marked unavailable are dates that have already been booked. I would absolutely love the opportunity to meet you and your fur baby! I look forward to welcoming them into our home and giving them a safe, loving, and fun stay. 🐾❤️ I work from home so we have the whole day to play and have fun. They are welcome to my whole house . I have a ton of toys for them to play . I have a huge fence in the yard and a small senior dog who absolutely loves new Friends. We have a great relationship with all my clients.

Claire cared for my 2 dogs in our home for a full week with 2 drop ins per day. Daily pics and comments on how things were going gave me peace of mind while I was away and Claire handled the visits like a pro- she is reliable and caring. My dogs loved Claire’s visits!
We have used Rover every summer to find a pet sitter for our dog Luna. Luna is a Lagotto Romagnolo. No, you've prob never seen one but they look like a doodle. They are a tough temperamental bread. Luna is especially tough because she learned that outside humans are bad.... Thanks COVID. Luna does not like anyone but me (she tolerates the rest of the family. Georgianna clearly has a gift with dogs! Every picture she sent us of Luna showed a happy and content pup. There were no accidents in the house for the entire 8 days away! When we came home, Luna was relaxed and happy. This is not to say that our other sitters weren't good, buy Georgianna is a pro! I am hoping she will be Luna's sitter for the rest of our lives!!!! 5 stars. HIGHLY recommend!
Shabazz was absolutely wonderful taking care of our cat while we were away! He was extremely reliable, followed all feeding and care instructions, and sent the cutest photo updates and detailed notes during every visit. Shabazz went above and beyond and i could tell my kitty was a happy kitty. I definitely recommend him and will book again!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
