“Christina was great with my “problem child” dog! He took to her right away. I got daily updates and pictures. This was our first experience with Rover and we will definitely use the service and Christina again.”
“This is our second booking for time away and couldn’t be happier. We received regular updates and our animals were happy and well cared for. I didn’t have to worry at all! Plus our place looked amazing upon the return. They just don’t get any better than Christopher!!”

“Auntie Dianne is an ABSOLUTE gem! She is in a word… INCREDIBLE! We are so lucky to have found her!!!! She has dog sat for us twice now and has provided TOP NOTCH love and care of our furbabies! She is very proactive with her communication both with initial meet up and during her service! She shows up on time and checks in at appropriate intervals with updates of our fur-kiddos (with adorable pictures of course!)! She is easy going, flexible, relatable and sweet as pie! In addition to treating our babies with the same tender love and care as she would her own, she treats our home with the same level of respect — consistently leaving our home even cleaner than how she received it! Can’t beat that! We can say with absolute confidence that when we leave, we know and trust our furbabies and home are under her competent, watchful and loving eye! She is our first call for all our doggo sitting needs! Mahalo Auntie Dianne! Till next time! 💕”

“Kristen was a wonderful sitter for our two dogs and two cats. She communicated throughout her stay and shared cute photos. We returned home to a few happy critters! Would highly recommend her!”

“Cathy was amazing! I was very nervous about leaving my babies and my house for an extensive period over the holidays, but Cathy did everything that she could to reduce my anxiety and make sure that the babies were happy. We talked daily and she sent pictures - this as well as interacting with them through the Furbo made me feel connected even thousands of miles away. By day two, I was not nervous any more and was confident that the babies were having a great time with their “grandma”. On Christmas, Cathy worked with my schedule so that I could see the babies “open” their stockings. Cathy even used some home remedies to address a few minor issues that they had been having (skin irritation etc) and went above and beyond in every way - the house was even cleaner when I can home than when I left. The babies are missing Cathy and we all look forward to the next time that we can share our home with her. She is beyond amazing!”
About: I absolutely love animals and especially dogs. I feel like there is no other genuine creature on earth like them. They have a big heart and love their human more than themselves. Taking care of a doggie it will be more a pleasure then a business. I love long walkes, play dates or just chilling. Shoot me a text with any questions 🦮 I currently work just mornings so I’m available daily after 4pm, Monday to Friday and in the weekends I am available most of the time . In the house I live in there are two big dogs ( not mine though). One of them is super friendly but the second one is not that good with other dogs. This is the reason why I would prefer pet sit in the customers house or just go out for walkes and play time.
About: I've spent most of my life surrounded by animals, mostly dogs and cats and occasionally some fish in a tank. I am good at following directions for care given to me or written down and am fine to spend a day alone save for a menagerie of animals. Currently, I am taking a gap year from school to work on my art and writing, this means that I have plenty of time available to run around and play with your pets and take care of your plants I am good at following directions for care given to me or written down and am fine to spend a day alone save for a menagerie of animals.
“Katalin was fabulous with our dogs. She asked a lot of questions and really got to know them before we left. Our dogs were well taken care of and we would hire her again without hesitation. Great job!”

“Jojo took great of our pups and our house! She sent pictures and updates regularly and the house was in better condition than we left it. My dogs love her so much, I swear they miss her already! Will definitely book again.”

About: I’ve always enjoyed caring for animals of all types and taking care of a home, and I’m someone who naturally pays attention to the little things. Ive done pet and property sitting my whole adult life, primarily in Bend, OR. I also spent time in Corfu, Greece caring for dogs with disabilities who were abandoned. Ive worked with dogs of all sizes, cats, and farm animals. I’m comfortable with all kinds of pets and understand that every animal has its own routine and personality. When you’re away, I know you want someone dependable who will follow your instructions, keep your pets comfortable, and leave your home the way you found it. That’s the kind of care I provide—straightforward, responsible, attentive, and trustworthy. Pet care fits naturally into my routine. I have a flexible schedule that allows me to give pets plenty of attention throughout the day, while keeping up with their normal feeding, exercise, medication, and bathroom routines. I enjoy having animals as part of my daily life and make sure their care is a priority rather than something I have to fit in around a busy schedule. Pet and House sitting is all I do, so I dedicate all of my attention to it and am focused on those responsibilities. I follow each pet’s normal routine as closely as possible, including feeding, exercise, medications, and plenty of attention. In a client’s home, I’m respectful of their space and follow their instructions carefully, while keeping things clean and making sure their pets are comfortable, safe, and well cared for. I'm very attentive and notice when an animal is acting even a little bit off and pay great attention to their body language.
About: Aloha: My experience goes back to my childhood, where I helped my mother breed and raise Cocker Spaniel puppies. I have always owned animals, including cats during my college years, and our family has cared for goats, dogs, chickens, and rabbits. I am very comfortable with puppies and experienced in fostering their training process, committing to the consistency necessary for a dog's development. Furthermore, I have experience caring for elderly animals at the end of their life cycles, including administering medicine and providing extra care. I have also attended to animals with various injuries. My primary strength is maintaining consistent routines, which I believe is essential for helping an animal feel loved and safe. Regarding equine experience, I have basic ground work skills with horses and donkeys. As my children have been riding since age three, I have had many opportunities to groom, feed, clean hooves, and ensure there are no external injuries from the ground. I appreciate your time and consideration. Aloha: Our ohana owns a 3-acre property on the Big Island, where we are blessed with three outdoor rescue cats, three rescue dogs, and two Nubian goats. As a dedicated mother and wife, caretaking is truly my blueprint. Caring for animals and providing house-sitting services for a "staycation" fits perfectly with my passion for animals. It also provides me with a wonderful opportunity to take some time for myself to relax and rejuvenate. I love to excercise walking dogs is my joy. I love to nurture and cuddle animals . I am a mama of 2o yrs thus I am always detail oriented regarding health. Our ohana is currently blessed with three rescue female dogs, three female outdoor rescue cats, and two Nubian goats. As they are a vital part of our family, they receive a high level of love and nurturing daily. My responsibilities and experience in caring for them include: - Daily Care: Managing daily feeding schedules and ensuring all animals are well-nourished. - Exercise and Training: Taking the dogs on regular walks around the neighborhood and maintaining up-to-date training. I have also personally trained our puppies. - Health and Wellness: Regularly checking all animals for health irregularities, administering natural medications when necessary, and staying current on goat vaccinations. - Goat Management: Grooming the goats, cleaning the barn, and providing them with nutrient-rich supplements. We take great pride in providing a healthy and loving environment for all our rescues. Please let me know if you need any further information.

About: I’ve taken care of cats, dogs, bunnies of my own and just being with them is my passion! I would love to be able to take care of your pets. I am trying to find a job for some extra cash for college. You can contact me any time and I will most likely be free! I’m very flexible and loving when it comets to animals. As long as you have directions I’m sure I will be able to take care of your animal!

“Daisy is a reliable, thoughtful and caring petsitter. She listened very well to our needs for our dog and outdoor cats. She went above and beyond our expectations, taking our dog out for more than just walks but fun car rides and adventures. She even asked if we had a seatbelt for him, and when we didn't have it at the house for her, she went and bought one "to have for next time." We really appreciate how Daisy is proactive in her job, she isn't afraid to ask questions about anything our dog may need. She communicated throughout her stay and sent photos which always made us feel reassured. Through our talks with Daisy, we learned what an animal lover she is. My husband and I highly recommend Daisy for petsitting any animal, and for housesitting. We will definitely call on her again!”

About: I have been around and cared for dogs and cats for most of my life. This care has included walking, feeding, bathing, nail clipping, and maintaining proper sanitation. Being the son of a veterinarian, I also grew up learning the basics on animal first aid, administering routine medications, and caring for senior animals with mobility issues. I currently care for dogs and cats with special needs including skin dermatitis and allergies as well as diabetes. More specifically, I have experience administering sub-cutaneous injections and monitoring blood-glucose levels in cats. I currently work full-time as a research biologist, but typically have a flexible schedule during the week, particularly in the mornings and evenings. My weekends are typically free for any pet care needs. I care for pets based on what the client wants. This includes basic care (feeding, sanitation, exercise) as well as any special treatment the client requests.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Mountain View walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Mountain View maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Mountain View choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Mountain View. On Rover:
- 100% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 94% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
