“This was my first time boarding my dog Boogie. What a great experience for him as well as for me! Blair was superb in helping Boogie adjust to being away from home: Within 24 hours, he was already feeling comfortable and enjoying being there. The daily photo updates helped me to adjust to being away, too. :) Blair was also very accommodating in agreeing to an evening pick up after I returned from my trip. I recommend her wholeheartedly for anyone wanting a safe and loving home-away-from-home for their dog. I will definitely board Boogie here again!”

“Second time taking my dog and amazing as always. Always keeps in touch with pictures and texts. My dog had only been once before and right as we pulled in for another stay she knew exactly where she was and was so excited which gave me so much comfort being away from her. Highly recommend having your dog stay here, it’s a vacation for them too!”

“Dianne was a lifesaver. First time ever doing something like this especially with my son’s dog since I had to be away for a few days. She walked me through the process and put me at ease that Tator would be in good hands. Dianne keeps me updated with pics and reports of how he was doing which kept me reassured.”

“Alex was awesome, handled Azumi's new medical issue well and took good care of both dogs while we were away. They were happy, tired, and ready for a long nap when we all got home. And Alex was flexible about pick up when we got stuck in traffic getting back to town. Very happy!”

“She was so great with our puppy and we couldn’t have asked for a better sitter while we were away😁 I appreciated the daily pictures and updates that Cheryl gave as well! It was such a huge stress relief for us to not have to worry about who might be taking care of him, and Cheryl did an amazing job❤️ I would definitely take my fur baby back to her in the future!!”

“Just a wonderful experience. Kandice is caring and thoughtful with her care of my dog Eevee. I felt that she was loved and in a family environment. Just couldn’t have asked for more. Will use her services again.”

“My dog Choomba is recovering from IVDD and her back legs don't always able to stand and walk, so she need assistance in emptying her bladder. Rebecca took a very great care of my disabled dog during her overnight stay. We are very grateful and happy to find someone who genuinely loves animal and willing to lovingly care for a dog with special needs. Highly recommended!”

“I recently boarded my dog with Austin and had a WONDERFUL experience. Austin provided a warm and welcoming home environment for my furry friend, making the transition from my home to a boarding situation much easier for both myself and my dog. He was attentive to my dog's needs, offering plenty of love. The updates and pictures I received of my dog made me feel confident that my pet was in good hands. The boarding facilities were top-notch, with a spacious backyard for my dog to play in and a cozy bed for him to rest in. Overall, I would highly recommend Austin for anyone looking for a dog boarding option that feels like a second home for their pet. The level of care and attention Austin provided was exceptional, and I would not hesitate to use their services again in the future.”

“Michael did an exceptional job taking care of Milo and Chloe. I was a little skeptical at first about leaving my two dogs with someone I had never met, but that feeling went away pretty quickly. He sent me pictures and updates throughout their entire stay, which I really appreciated. I got to see them playing, making friends with the other dogs, eating, napping, and just genuinely having a great time. It gave me a lot of peace of mind knowing they were happy and being well taken care of. Michael is also a super nice guy, and you can tell he genuinely loves and cares about animals. Milo and Chloe came home happy, and the whole experience was great from start to finish. I’ll definitely be using him again anytime I need someone to watch them. I would absolutely recommend him to anyone looking for someone they can trust with their dogs. Your pets will be in great hands!”

“Perfect boarding for our small Lhasa Apsu . He had a good buddy their dog chewy. Athena sent good pictures with commentary everyday. Will use Athena again but now afraid our Bohdi will want to stay with them :)”

About: I have loved and trained our own Bernese Mountain Dogs (Germany and Belgium) for over 20 years, and fostered dogs (senior dogs, puppies, and Animal Control rescues) the past 3 years, sometimes taking in dogs who had no reason to trust humans, dogs that learned through our care that comforting routines and training through play helps them to trust again, and leads them to becoming more adoptable dog companions. I believe trust has to be earned with our dogs. Only then, will they let us care for them with love through routines they can count on. I look forward to continuing the routines you have already established with your pupper. I raised our dogs believing every day, every moment is an opportunity for training of basic dog citizen behaviors (come, sit, down, leave it, etc.) through active engagement and play, and daily walks and cuddles. Note: We still welcome in Foster dogs, and hope your non aggressive dog(s) will also be good pup ambassadors in interacting with senior dogs or other fosters. I work remotely part-time from home, and I am retired so aside from short trips away from the house for errands, I am here to care for your dog(s). With our own dogs, we held to a consistent schedule: a morning walk (7-ish), then breakfast, rest (to avoid bloat in large dogs), playtime several times per day in our fenced yard, and an afternoon walk, then dinner. We have a fully fenced yard on 1/4 acre. Potty-trained dogs are welcome in the house and on some covered furniture. We have a 30ʻ deck with an outdoor couch and chairs with with rolling gates to the outer yard. We also have a smaller fenced area for dogs who prefer to be outside in cool shaded grassy areas. I specialize in large non-aggressive dogs. Most of these dogs do not like like to sleep in human beds; I welcome pet guests to bring their own large dog beds for their stays.

“I had an amazing experience with Vanessa! She watched my two dogs overnight and took such great care of them. She kept me updated with photos, made sure they were comfortable, and treated them like they were her own. I felt completely at ease knowing they were in good hands. My dogs were happy, relaxed, and clearly loved being with her. I truly appreciate her kindness, communication, and the extra effort she put in. I’ll definitely be booking with her again whenever I need a sitter. Highly recommend!”

About: Hi! My name is Isabella A, and I’m a full-time student at the University of Hawai‘i at Hilo. In my free time, I love being outdoors, whether it’s hiking, going to the beach and looking for shells, or exploring new places to eat. Growing up here on the Big Island, I was always surrounded by animals, which sparked my lifelong love for them. I’ve had experience caring for dogs, and cats since i was 10 and I understand how important pets are as members of your family. You can trust me to provide attentive care, lots of love, playtime, and snuggles for your four-legged family members. 🐶❤️ I am currently a full time student with a part time job. I will be available anytime during breaks (winter, spring, summer). They deserve the best! ❤️✨

“Vanessa took great care of our 2 cats while we were on vacation! She sent us detailed updates for the check-ins with lots of photos. She is friendly, timely, and professional - we definitely recommend her for anyone looking for pet services. Thanks, Vanessa!”

“Kristen is a superior pet sitter. She took care of my dogs and chickens for 1.5 weeks and was on time for her visits. She made sure the dogs didn't escape from the fenced area, she played with the dogs, and even brought them a toy to play tug of war with. When we initially met, she had paperwork for me to fill out, which felt very professional, and in the meeting before we left, she took notes. When I was on my trip, I had forgotten to log into Rover from my phone, so in addition to submitting her photos and comments to Rover, she also sent me the pictures and comments to my phone directly. Lastly, our water system malfunctioned during the trip, resulting in beeping from the filter system. She took it upon herself to send me a video to inform me and asked me if there was anything I would like her to do to address the issue. This wasn't in her pet-sitting duties, but it was kind and thoughtful. I highly recommend Kristen for drop-in visits.”

“Christina is an excellent sitter for our high energy pup. Christina takes good care of her during weekly check in visits. Her Rover cards are detailed. She has been a big help to me while working full time and trying to raise a puppy. Thank you, Christina!”

Particularly their need for love when they want it, and how to give them space while still making them feel loved and engaged. “Dani was fantastic and the fur kids loved her. They were happy to see her and sad when she left. Dani is respectful and responsive. She sent great photos and were completely relaxed knowing she was caring for our pets.”

About: I have dogsat for people all over the world from the mainland to Costa Rica for over 40 years. People have entrusted their dogs to me for vacations out of the country, long term & short term. I accept them into my home and treat them just as if they were my own! Lots of love, hugs, walks and smooches! I also make sure to follow the pet owners instructions so they are cared for exactly how the owner wants them to be. I am very careful and conscientious while caring for someone else’s dog, safety is first on the list! I am very loving, have high integrity and ethics, plus I am very reliable. Since I am home all day your pet would be with me 24/7. I am one that enjoys interacting with the dogs, whether it be playing fetch or going for a walk everyone enjoys getting outside. I have a Chihuahua, named Jose that I rescued in June 2024. He is a really nice guy but takes a little while to warm up to newcomers. I am very careful while attending someone else’s pet, I know that they are like their baby so I take care of them like one of my own. In other words I spoil them rotten! Caring for people’s pets fits right into my lifestyle, as I am retired and an artist. I spend most of my time at home doing my artwork and working outdoors on my property. I am very careful with pets that I sit as well as my own. I keep a good eye on them at all times, making sure they are safe and not getting into trouble! I have a gate at the top of my stairs so I know everyone is safe and where they are supposed to be. I live on 3 acres in a little Ohana 450 feet back from the road. It is a very calm and quiet atmosphere with no neighbors in sight.
“Bela is amazing!! She was able to accommodate our last minute booking and was so communicative throughout. She sent so many pictures during the day care and our little guy had a great time. Thank you again!!”

“So pleased with Harley’s first day at day care! She had fun playing with the other dogs, learned from them, and is exhausted now. I’m so glad Natalie is there to supervise ❤️”

About: I've spent most of my life surrounded by animals, mostly dogs and cats and occasionally some fish in a tank. I am good at following directions for care given to me or written down and am fine to spend a day alone save for a menagerie of animals. Currently, I am taking a gap year from school to work on my art and writing, this means that I have plenty of time available to run around and play with your pets and take care of your plants I am good at following directions for care given to me or written down and am fine to spend a day alone save for a menagerie of animals.
About: I've taken care of dogs of every kind since I was young. Neighbors, friends, and family have relied on me to walk, feed, bathe, and love their pets. I have a special place in my heart for senior dogs and large breeds, plus those that need a little extra patience and attention, and I'm fully comfortable administering medications and handling special care routines. My partner and I work from home on a large, open acreage property on Hawaii's Big Island, which means your dog gets constant supervision, fresh air, and the freedom of a true home environment. Our dogs are currently off island, which means your dog gets our undivided attention and is always the star of the show. Your fur baby is family, and we'll treat them exactly that way — with aloha I work from home full-time, which means your dog is never left alone. My days are built around flexibility — morning walks, midday play, afternoon lounging, and evening wind-downs are all part of the routine. Your pup will have a consistent, attentive presence throughout the entire day, every day of their stay. I'm available for boarding 7 days a week, and because I'm always on the property, last-minute needs and extended stays are never a problem. Whether your trip is a quick weekend getaway or a longer vacation, your dog will have the same loving, supervised care from check-in to pickup. Your dog's safety is my top priority from the moment they arrive. I'm trained in pet first aid and know how to recognize and respond to health concerns quickly and calmly. Because I work from home and am present on the property all day, your dog is never unsupervised outdoors — every outside time is accompanied and attentive. Our large acreage property is open and natural, which means dogs enjoy real freedom to roam, sniff, and explore — always with me by their side. For pet parents who prefer a crate or have a dog that feels more secure in one, I'm happy to accommodate that with advance notice. I'll always follow your care instructions to the letter and communicate any concerns promptly. You'll receive regular photo updates throughout your dog's stay so you can relax knowing your pup is safe, happy, and in good hands.

“Took great care of my new puppy! She was on meds and had a cone for her paw with stitches and he took great care of her and kept her paw clean and cared for. Will definitely go to him again and highly recommend”
“Alexander was caring and kind to our little pup, Koa. He was intentional and slow in introducing the dogs to each other. He has a large, fully fenced-in backyard, but for this first dog sitting, he brought Koa out on a leash in the yard and for a walk around the neighborhood. Alexander was accommodating and flexible with pick-up/drop-off times and was available with short notice. We will book with him again.”

About: With five-star reviews from local clients on the Big Island, I've built a reputation for reliable, attentive care for both pets and homes. Housesitting has been a way of life for me for many years, and I take seriously the trust that comes with caring for someone's home and animals. I grew up in the country with dogs, cats, and farm animals, and that early life with animals shaped how I relate to them. I walk extensively every day and love having a dog along. The Big Island has plenty of dog-friendly trails and I enjoy exploring them with pets in my care. Cats get plenty of attention too, even if they're staying home while I head out. If you're looking for someone who will treat your home and your animals with genuine care and respect, I'd love to hear from you. I work from home, so your pets will have company most of the day, every day. I'm usually home in the evenings as well, as that's when I do most of my writing. For housesits, I stay at the client's home full time — overnight and through most of the day — so pets maintain their normal routines as closely as possible. I follow whatever feeding schedules, rules, and habits the owner has established, and I ask detailed questions before a sit begins so there are no surprises. I treat every home I stay in with care and respect, leaving it in the same condition I found it. For drop-in visits, I arrive on schedule, spend quality time with the pet rather than rushing through, and send updates so owners know everything is going well. In either case I make sure animals have fresh water, are fed on schedule, get appropriate exercise and attention, and are never left alone longer than is comfortable for them. I'm attentive to changes in behavior or health and will contact the owner promptly if anything seems off.

About: **I AM TRAVELING OUTSIDE THE COUNTRY STARTING 5/20/26 AND WILL BE BLOCKING MY CALENDAR TILL I KNOW I WILL RETURN. ** I travel off island often and can't have my own puppy family, so I will watch your fur-babies like they are my own! I enjoy the adventure of pup-sitting at homes all over the island. I work remotely so am able to be away from my place for long stretches of time. While I like to explore the local areas I stay in, I will mostly be snuggled up with your fur-babies typing away. I am a veteran with Rover- In fact I have been pet-sitting before Rover existed using Craigslist. I have a huge love for all animals and am very experienced with caring for different types of animals and breeds. I am patient, and gentle with a huge heart for animals. I understand every household has different culture. I always try and mimic all the rules of the home. Pets not allowed on the couch? no problem. Dogs like to sleep in the bed with owners? I am an expert puppy snugger. Perhaps the best. I will try and reinforce all commands and rules so there is a seamless transition upon your return. When dog-sitting in your home I will leave it better than I found it and happily respect boundaries and house rules. * My property is in Hilo but I am open to sitting at homes all over the island. In fact, I love to! I will text picture updates to my clients so they feel comforted that their sweetheart is being loved on. Why I love dog sitting: I had a Golden Retriever rescue for over 15 years till he passed 10 years ago. I travel a lot and didn't think it was fair to get another dog, but have been pet sitting since. I LOVE having dog energy still around... and the friendships I have made with my puppy parents. For my lifestyle it's the best of both worlds! I work remotely so am very flexible with my schedule and love having pets around to love on while exploring new and interesting locations on this beautiful island. My place is in Hilo but am open to doing pet sit stays all around the Big Island. Initial meeting can be done with a zoom call before meet and greet if too far from my area. I can also do house drop in visits if it coordinates with my location at the time needed. Right now I am primarily house sitting since my property does not have a fenced yard. I will match your schedule as best as possible and take care of your place the way you desire.
About: Aloha: My experience goes back to my childhood, where I helped my mother breed and raise Cocker Spaniel puppies. I have always owned animals, including cats during my college years, and our family has cared for goats, dogs, chickens, and rabbits. I am very comfortable with puppies and experienced in fostering their training process, committing to the consistency necessary for a dog's development. Furthermore, I have experience caring for elderly animals at the end of their life cycles, including administering medicine and providing extra care. I have also attended to animals with various injuries. My primary strength is maintaining consistent routines, which I believe is essential for helping an animal feel loved and safe. Regarding equine experience, I have basic ground work skills with horses and donkeys. As my children have been riding since age three, I have had many opportunities to groom, feed, clean hooves, and ensure there are no external injuries from the ground. I appreciate your time and consideration. Aloha: Our ohana owns a 3-acre property on the Big Island, where we are blessed with three outdoor rescue cats, three rescue dogs, and two Nubian goats. As a dedicated mother and wife, caretaking is truly my blueprint. Caring for animals and providing house-sitting services for a "staycation" fits perfectly with my passion for animals. It also provides me with a wonderful opportunity to take some time for myself to relax and rejuvenate. I love to excercise walking dogs is my joy. I love to nurture and cuddle animals . I am a mama of 2o yrs thus I am always detail oriented regarding health. Our ohana is currently blessed with three rescue female dogs, three female outdoor rescue cats, and two Nubian goats. As they are a vital part of our family, they receive a high level of love and nurturing daily. My responsibilities and experience in caring for them include: - Daily Care: Managing daily feeding schedules and ensuring all animals are well-nourished. - Exercise and Training: Taking the dogs on regular walks around the neighborhood and maintaining up-to-date training. I have also personally trained our puppies. - Health and Wellness: Regularly checking all animals for health irregularities, administering natural medications when necessary, and staying current on goat vaccinations. - Goat Management: Grooming the goats, cleaning the barn, and providing them with nutrient-rich supplements. We take great pride in providing a healthy and loving environment for all our rescues. Please let me know if you need any further information.
About: Animals have always naturally gravitated toward me, and caring for dogs has never felt like “work” to me I genuinely love it. I’ve helped watch and care for dogs for family and friends many times over the years, and I’m the type of person who pays close attention to their energy, comfort, and routines. I know every dog is different and I’m very patient with shy, anxious, high-energy, or affectionate dogs alike. I am very intuitive with their needs and and some people even call me a “dog whisperer”, because of how in tune I am. I love spending quality time with them, whether that’s going on walks, playing outside, relaxing together, or simply making sure they feel safe and cared for while their owner is away. I also understand how important updates and communication are when someone trusts you with their pet, so I always aim to be dependable, attentive, and caring. I currently work as an online life coach, which gives me a very flexible schedule and allows me to be available throughout the day for pet care, walks, check-ins, overnight stays, and quality time with your dog. I genuinely enjoy spending time with animals so I’m able to give them lots of attention, companionship, and care rather than leaving them alone for long periods. My schedule is very open and flexible, and I’m happy to work with your pet’s routine and needs. I always want pets to feel safe, calm, and comfortable while in my care. I pay close attention to each dog’s personality, energy level, and routine so they can feel as relaxed and at home as possible. I’m very patient and attentive, and I make sure pets have plenty of love, supervision, playtime, water, potty breaks, and a peaceful environment. I also understand how important trust and communication are when someone is caring for your pet, so I always aim to provide updates, photos, and dependable care so owners can feel fully at ease while they’re away.🐶❤️ I’m also a very clean and hygienic person and I always treat people’s homes with respect and care. I genuinely like keeping spaces tidy, and I aim to leave your home just as clean or even cleaner than I found it.
