“Carol was awesome with our big baby Nova (great dane)! She was super patient, keep us updated, and made us feel at ease since it was our first time leaving her. Would definitely book her again 🙂”

“Christina was so wonderful with Zee Zee! It truly felt like I was leaving her with family. She have my little girl the very best care and welcomed her into her home like she was part of the family! I think Zee Zee felt like it was a vacation with all the attention she received. I also got multiple updates and pictures.”

“Hands down the best sitter I have ever had the opportunity to book with. She sent tons of pictures of Haru (my dog) daily, always kept me updated on his behavior. For the two weeks that she had him he was always in a happy mood. Playing with dogs, chilling in the house, running outside in their yard even if it was just for a few minutes due to the -40 temps. I believe he had the time of his life. I will continue to book him with her for the foreseeable future. I wish I could give more than 5 stars because that’s just how awesome she is. Thank you again, Nat!”
“Sarah takes great care of my dog Mason. She was understanding and accommodating to the changes in pick up time as my flight was delayed over and over again. We are very grateful to her!”

“Dianne was a lifesaver. First time ever doing something like this especially with my son’s dog since I had to be away for a few days. She walked me through the process and put me at ease that Tator would be in good hands. Dianne keeps me updated with pics and reports of how he was doing which kept me reassured.”

“Alex was awesome, handled Azumi's new medical issue well and took good care of both dogs while we were away. They were happy, tired, and ready for a long nap when we all got home. And Alex was flexible about pick up when we got stuck in traffic getting back to town. Very happy!”

“Cheryl took wonderful care of Oda for a multi-day stay. Oda was newly arrived to Hawaii and had several housing changes in the past two months. Oda was anxious and reactive and responded well to Cheryl's calm and comforting manner. Part of the anxiousness Oda experienced resulted he her rubbing her nose into things until it was raw. Oda was so comfortable with Cheryl that Oda quit rubbing her nose and it actually began to heal. Cheryl definately provided the tender loving care that Oda needed to relax and start enjoying Hawaii. It's not everyone that will take on a large, active, and anxious dog. I highly recommend Cheryl for pet care and owner care. It was the first time I left Oda and she was very reassuring. I will be a repeat customer! Thank you, Cheryl!”

“Just a wonderful experience. Kandice is caring and thoughtful with her care of my dog Eevee. I felt that she was loved and in a family environment. Just couldn’t have asked for more. Will use her services again.”

“Rebecca is not only a great and well respected pet sitter but someone who for us is also a dear friend. Her experience and education are well suited for animal care but more importantly her heart is in what she does. We cannot imagine anyone with whom we would feel more secure leaving our cat Hobo in the care of. The photos she sends of him inside her home interacting with the other cats and dogs in a safe and happy environment are both pleasant and adorable. It’s almost as if he’s at “school” learning to play and be well with his friends! Rebecca makes sure everyone interacts comfortably and safely and the result is a healthy social environment that is beneficial for the animals and reassuring to owners. It’s amazing to see! Separation is of course possible if necessary.Yet seeing our cat enjoying the benefit of safe and healthy social interactions in Rebecca’s care he might never enjoy in some cage filled kennel makes having Hobo in her care a treasure. She is a Godsend and we a so blessed to have found her for our precious little guy.”

“I recently boarded my dog with Austin and had a WONDERFUL experience. Austin provided a warm and welcoming home environment for my furry friend, making the transition from my home to a boarding situation much easier for both myself and my dog. He was attentive to my dog's needs, offering plenty of love. The updates and pictures I received of my dog made me feel confident that my pet was in good hands. The boarding facilities were top-notch, with a spacious backyard for my dog to play in and a cozy bed for him to rest in. Overall, I would highly recommend Austin for anyone looking for a dog boarding option that feels like a second home for their pet. The level of care and attention Austin provided was exceptional, and I would not hesitate to use their services again in the future.”

“Michael did an exceptional job taking care of Milo and Chloe. I was a little skeptical at first about leaving my two dogs with someone I had never met, but that feeling went away pretty quickly. He sent me pictures and updates throughout their entire stay, which I really appreciated. I got to see them playing, making friends with the other dogs, eating, napping, and just genuinely having a great time. It gave me a lot of peace of mind knowing they were happy and being well taken care of. Michael is also a super nice guy, and you can tell he genuinely loves and cares about animals. Milo and Chloe came home happy, and the whole experience was great from start to finish. I’ll definitely be using him again anytime I need someone to watch them. I would absolutely recommend him to anyone looking for someone they can trust with their dogs. Your pets will be in great hands!”

“Perfect boarding for our small Lhasa Apsu . He had a good buddy their dog chewy. Athena sent good pictures with commentary everyday. Will use Athena again but now afraid our Bohdi will want to stay with them :)”

About: I have loved and trained our own Bernese Mountain Dogs (Germany and Belgium) for over 20 years, and fostered dogs (senior dogs, puppies, and Animal Control rescues) the past 3 years, sometimes taking in dogs who had no reason to trust humans, dogs that learned through our care that comforting routines and training through play helps them to trust again, and leads them to becoming more adoptable dog companions. I believe trust has to be earned with our dogs. Only then, will they let us care for them with love through routines they can count on. I look forward to continuing the routines you have already established with your pupper. I raised our dogs believing every day, every moment is an opportunity for training of basic dog citizen behaviors (come, sit, down, leave it, etc.) through active engagement and play, and daily walks and cuddles. Note: We still welcome in Foster dogs, and hope your non aggressive dog(s) will also be good pup ambassadors in interacting with senior dogs or other fosters. I work remotely part-time from home, and I am retired so aside from short trips away from the house for errands, I am here to care for your dog(s). With our own dogs, we held to a consistent schedule: a morning walk (7-ish), then breakfast, rest (to avoid bloat in large dogs), playtime several times per day in our fenced yard, and an afternoon walk, then dinner. We have a fully fenced yard on 1/4 acre. Potty-trained dogs are welcome in the house and on some covered furniture. We have a 30ʻ deck with an outdoor couch and chairs with with rolling gates to the outer yard. We also have a smaller fenced area for dogs who prefer to be outside in cool shaded grassy areas. I specialize in large non-aggressive dogs. Most of these dogs do not like like to sleep in human beds; I welcome pet guests to bring their own large dog beds for their stays.

“I had an amazing experience with Vanessa! She watched my two dogs overnight and took such great care of them. She kept me updated with photos, made sure they were comfortable, and treated them like they were her own. I felt completely at ease knowing they were in good hands. My dogs were happy, relaxed, and clearly loved being with her. I truly appreciate her kindness, communication, and the extra effort she put in. I’ll definitely be booking with her again whenever I need a sitter. Highly recommend!”

Many sitters in HI ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
