About: I’ve taken care of dogs my whole life, and getting to hang out with a pup is one of my favorite ways to spend my day. I’m also an avid hiker, so if your dogs ever need some outdoor time, I’ll be sure they get it. I work from home, so I am available to stay with your dog all day. I can take them outside for potty breaks, walks, or any other needs 24/7. I have a fenced in yard, and walking trails right next to my house. I also am available to stay over at your home and be with your dog 24/7. 100% of my clients, will receive photos of their baby!
“Saniya was amazing and took perfect care of our cats 😸💕 they are very shy so them coming out to greet here during her time at our home was shows the great energy she has. 100% recommend her!”

“Dazia was respectful of my home and prompt on drop in days. She is not afraid to ask questions if she is unsure and sent very cute pictures of my furbaby.”

About: I have been working with dogs for four years now! I started off walking for Wag!, and now I not only do walks, but I am also available for sittings and drop-ins! I have experience walking dogs that tug and dogs that are more slow walker; I enjoy them all! I look forward to meeting you and your fur baby! I am currently in school, so I have Monday-Thursday open for mornings and afternoons ONLY, and Friday and Sunday are open for books all day! I can also do Saturday nights occasionally! While animals are in my care, I love to play with them and give them frequent belly rubs! Whether they go in the backyard to play or they play in the house, I try to keep them occupied with fun!
“Sean was our first experience hiring someone to look after our girls. He was extremely responsive, kept us updated, and spent time with our babies. One of them consistently had accidents while we were gone but Sean took care of it every single day no problem. He made sure to spend some time with them in the yard and gave them some brushing due to it being shedding season! Since he lives close to us, he would pop by in to check on them in the afternoon. One of our babies started showing some scary symptoms our last night of vacation and Sean cared as if it was one of his own babies. Sean was fantastic and we highly recommend hiring him!”

“Kristen was great! She went over and above in walking my dog around the block rather just letting her out in the back yard. I really appreciate the effort and time she spent with Betty. Will definitely be rebooking again soon!”

“Shannon is my go-to sitter for my 2 cats when I travel out of town. I know they are in good hands and she does little things like pulls trash cans up or sweeps if needed. Will keep using her services!”

Weekends are on the busier side but let me know a week and a half in advance and I can make the time Being an artist I am very much about the details, I love to know your pets eating routines/schedule, medication(if applicable), how long of a walk to go for, their favorite toy, and type of play. I am also very vigilant to ensure safety for your pet the way I would my own.
“Went out of her way to meet with Bear and get to know the routine before hand. She was great with my puppy and asked great questions so she could take the best care of Bear!”

I’m very attentive to safety, cleanliness, and each dog’s individual needs, and I always treat every pet with the same care and attention I would give my own. Pet care fits pretty easily into my routine. I do work full-time, but I still have a pretty flexible schedule and can make time for your pets. I’m happy to help with walks, playtime, feeding, and giving them plenty of attention and companionship. I’m available on weekdays and weekends before 6pm, and I’m happy to work around your pet’s routine when I can. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I provide a calm, clean, and attentive environment and always follow owner instructions carefully. About: Hi! My name is Tyson, and I’ve been around animals my entire life. Growing up with pets taught me early on how important patience, consistency, and love are when caring for animals. I currently work in childcare as a nanny and babysitter, and many of the families I work with also trust me with the care of their dogs inside their homes. Over the past seven years, I’ve gained experience caring for other people’s pets, including walking, feeding, bathing, nail trimming, and general grooming support. I also have my own Cane Corso at home, so I’m very comfortable handling large and strong breeds. Because of this, I’m confident managing leash pullers on walks and working with dogs of all sizes and temperaments. I pay close attention to dog body language and always aim to create a calm, safe, and fun environment for every pet in my care. I’m an active person and love engaging with dogs through walks, playtime, and enrichment so they stay happy and stimulated. My goal is always to make sure your pet feels comfortable, cared for, and has a great time while you’re away. I do childcare as far as being a nanny from 2:40 pm to 6 PM Monday through Friday so I am available anytime before or after that time. And I am available all weekend long. When caring for pets, my main priority is making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and cared for just like they would with their owner. In a client’s home, I respect their routine as closely as possible. I follow feeding schedules, walking routines, and any specific instructions to help the pet stay relaxed in their familiar environment. I also make sure they get plenty of attention, playtime, exercise, and affection while you’re away. If I’m caring for pets in my home, I provide a safe, supervised environment where they can relax and stay active. I have experience handling dogs of all sizes, including large breeds, and I make sure every dog gets proper exercise, structured walks, and positive interaction. I always pay close attention to body language and behavior to ensure all pets are comfortable and stress-free. I also keep owners updated with photos and messages so they can feel confident that their pet is happy and in good hands.
About: Hello! I’m Adreana and I've seen the nitty, the gritty, and the nasty...nothing can scare me away, trust me I volunteered for a shelter in college lol. In terms of my tangible experience, I've logged an immense amount of hours volunteering at animal shelters and pet-sitting for various friends and family. I'm a huge advocate for exercise and fitness for pets so if you leave your dog with me, I guarantee that we will be going on runs and playing outside. I have my own fur baby and she is my whole life, I’ve even opted out of having kids ?? doggies will do. I one day hope to own my own “no-kill” shelter. If you book me I promise your dog will thank you!
About: I’ve been an animal lover my entire life and have years of hands-on experience caring for my own dogs and cats, as well as pets for friends and family. I currently have two friendly doodles and a senior cat, so I’m comfortable with different personalities, routines, ages, and needs. I know how important it is to have someone you trust caring for your pets, and I’ll treat yours like they’re my own. I’m also happy to send plenty of photos and updates while they’re with me! My work schedule is flexible and varies throughout the week, so I have plenty of time to spend with your pup! I do have some full workdays where I may be away for around 8 hours, so your dog should be comfortable being home during a normal workday. When I’m home, my dogs are usually right there with me, and your pup will be treated the same way. I’m available for boarding throughout the week and on weekends depending on my schedule. I have a fully fenced yard and two friendly doodles who love having company! Dogs are treated like part of the family in my home and have plenty of indoor and outdoor time. I’m happy to follow your dog’s normal feeding, sleeping and potty routine, and can crate them if that’s what they’re used to. I’ll also send plenty of pictures and updates so you know they’re happy and comfortable.
Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Mountain View
We were so lucky to find Elizabeth!! My aunt passed away, which left her pets without care. Elizabeth did not hesitate to step in and offer the best care while we searched for new homes for the animals. Kind, responsible, and just outright cool. You're lucky if you get the chance to book with Elizabeth. 5 stars all around!!

Daniel was great! He was very accommodating to my pups needs and went the extra mile for her and I. When my dog refused to go out in wet grass, he made a third trip back to ensure she was comfortable and accident-free overnight. I really appreciated his extra care and highly recommend him!!

One of them consistently had accidents while we were gone but Sean took care of it every single day no problem. Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet .
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
