“Nueva was a lovely sitter for Johnny. He really enjoyed his stay with her. She updated us throughout the week with texts and pictures, so we could enjoy our vacation knowing that our little dog was having a good time. Would highly recommend, and we will definitely use Nueva again if we travel without our dog.”

“Louise was very inviting and reassuring as I had some nerves about leaving my dogs with someone I didn't know for the first time. She sent updates throughout the day on how they were doing. I never felt I had to worry about them in her care. Absolutely recommend Louise. Thank you again!”

“Alice has a nice oasis in Joshua Tree for my two dogs. They’ve never traveled away from home so her care was wonderful and comforting. Her two dogs made friends and welcomed my two boys with play and fun. I would ask Alice to care for my boys the next time I am in Joshua Tree!”

“Hazel was amazing. She actually made sure that my dog would be a good fit for her home and she would be able to take care of her effectively. When I went to pick up Ruby she was all tired out; no doubt from all the playing and attention she got. Highly recommend and will book again in the future!!”

About: Dogs have always found their way to me. I've been around them most of my life, and there's something about calm, consistent energy that they seem to respond to. A friend would tell you I'm the person dogs gravitate toward at a party, and I'd say that's probably the most honest qualification I can offer. My most meaningful experience came with my own rescue, a shepherd mix I adopted at 7 months, trained from scratch, and cared for through 15 years of life, including her final year as a senior dog with mobility needs. I became practiced at daily medication administration, wound care, and the kind of patient, attentive routine that older dogs need. Senior dogs are a specialty I genuinely enjoy and take seriously. I work from home full-time, which means your dog won't spend the day alone. I'm here, present, and engaged — great for dogs with separation anxiety or those who simply do better with a steady human nearby. I take one dog (or one bonded pair) at a time, so your pet gets real individual attention. My home in Palm Springs is clean, quiet, and comfortable with direct access to a large greenway for on-leash walks right from my back patio. I know the desert schedule well, so in warmer months walks happen early morning or evening when it's safe and comfortable. I have a car and am happy to help with pickup or dropoff when needed. I'm comfortable with oral medications, mobility assistance, and dogs with special routines. My home is single-level — no stairs. I prefer dogs to sleep on their own bed or the floor (I'll have a comfortable spot ready), and I take one guest at a time to keep things calm and personal. Meet-and-greets are always welcome before a booking.
“We left Freya with Hugh & Mary for our trip and it was the best thing we ever did. Not only was she in good hands, we also had the peace of mind the whole entire trip. They communicated very well and sent us many updates. Freya always loves coming over to Hugh & Mary’s house.”

“This is the 2nd time I’ve used Tony and I happily recommend him. He and Audry took great care of Frankie keeping me updated with photos, videos and texts daily to let me know how she was doing. He has a great place and it’s right across the street from a nice grassy park so that was a bonus. I’ll definitely use Tony again in the future.”

“Unfortunately, we had to pick up our dog early. However, ARY was very accommodating and helpful with transitioning our furry baby to a friend for his continued stay. She was very communicative and shared plenty of photos of Casper enjoying his stay with her.”

“Samantha was very responsive, sent pictures and a video of my dog, and was very kind and generous when I was late for dropping off and picking up my dog. The home and backyard was a great environment for my siberian husky and she was great to work with. I would absolutely recommend her help to anyone needing a dog sitter if you're in the area.”

“Todd was amazing with Harper! He said one of his dogs fell in love with Harper and followed her everywhere, which made me feel so go! I will definitely take her to have Todd watch her again! He is amazing!!”

“I had to book my pups very last minute, with the added complications of one having a recent injury still very much in the healing process. These guys totally put me at ease in what was a highly stressful situation- their home is spotless and yet perfect for dogs, my two girls instantly settled and I was sent the cutest updates. They made accommodations for the injurd pup and administered care. When we picked them up they were so chilled and happy. Highly recommend even if it does make it harder for me to book!”

“Marinee and her family took fantastic care of our two pups! We were grateful to receive photos and updates while we were so far away. Our dogs came back happy and tired from their adventures. I would not hesitate to book again and would highly recommend. Thank you again!”

“I had a great experience! They took wonderful care of my husky girl and gave me peace of mind knowing she was in good hands. I really appreciate the time and attention they gave her, and I would absolutely recommend them to anyone looking for a reliable and caring pet sitter. I would definitely book with them again! 🐾❤️A”

“Shelly was fantastic with Noah. When she first met him she bent over to pet and I was worried because he is a barking mess when people do that. He didn't bark at all and warmed right up to her. I will admit I was shocked and was waiting for the him to bark. She set many pictures and made me feel good about leaving him. Will book her for our next trip.”

“Emily & Nesha have a lovely home. When we (Ralph & I) entered their place we immediately felt very comfortable. I was very nervous leaving Ralph with people he didn’t know. He was so comfortable that I was a little hurt (: he didn’t make a fuss when I left him. He makes more of a fuss when I leave for the grocery store, so he was definitely happy with Emily & Nesha. They sent lovely photos of him while I was gone. I was able to not worry about him at all while on my trip and that was a wonder feeling. I was able to really enjoy my friends in Chicago. If I need a sitter again I will definitely use them again.”

“My family rented a house in yucca valley and my dog was too big to stay there. Salina was the perfect solution! Her house is centrally located and pick up and drop off was super easy. Salina was very understanding of Millie’s curiosity and she took great care of her. I got pictures and updates and Millie even got introduced to her new favorite toy. Would recommend and would use again”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Morongo Valley home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Morongo Valley.
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Morongo Valley sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
