“Lacey is great!!! I have a very anxious and neurotic min-pin mix and Lacey was very Patient and understanding. She even offered to take him for a night BEFORE the scheduled time for her to watch him, just so he could get used to her. That was absolutely unexpected and such a kind gesture. I will 100% be booking dog sitting with Lacey again! She’s so great!!!! Thank you again!!”
“Larry took great care of our pet. This is my first time using a sitter instead of boarding and she was much happier and received his undivided attention. Lots of photos and great communication.”

“Johna was an excellent sitter! She was so flexible with my pick-up and drop-off times. She made Ronan feel right at home and sent me so many cute photos of Ronan with her doggies. Would absolutely book Johna again!”

“Hazel was so kind & responsive! She took great care of our Boni over the holidays, and it meant so much to know she was safe and in good hands while we were out of town. She provided daily updates and photos, which was so nice. Highly recommend!”

“I had a very good experience with Osamu while my dog Leo was under his care. Osamu is very kind and loving and Leo felt right at home his place. Leo was treated just the same as if he were in his own home. Osamu kept me updated through out Leos stay with photos and texts and Leo seemed happy and content when I picked him up I highly recommend Osamu and plan to take Leo again whenever I need a pet sitter!”

About: Dogs have always found their way to me. I've been around them most of my life, and there's something about calm, consistent energy that they seem to respond to. A friend would tell you I'm the person dogs gravitate toward at a party, and I'd say that's probably the most honest qualification I can offer. My most meaningful experience came with my own rescue, a shepherd mix I adopted at 7 months, trained from scratch, and cared for through 15 years of life, including her final year as a senior dog with mobility needs. I became practiced at daily medication administration, wound care, and the kind of patient, attentive routine that older dogs need. Senior dogs are a specialty I genuinely enjoy and take seriously. I work from home full-time, which means your dog won't spend the day alone. I'm here, present, and engaged — great for dogs with separation anxiety or those who simply do better with a steady human nearby. I take one dog (or one bonded pair) at a time, so your pet gets real individual attention. My home in Palm Springs is clean, quiet, and comfortable with direct access to a large greenway for on-leash walks right from my back patio. I know the desert schedule well, so in warmer months walks happen early morning or evening when it's safe and comfortable. I have a car and am happy to help with pickup or dropoff when needed. I'm comfortable with oral medications, mobility assistance, and dogs with special routines. My home is single-level — no stairs. I prefer dogs to sleep on their own bed or the floor (I'll have a comfortable spot ready), and I take one guest at a time to keep things calm and personal. Meet-and-greets are always welcome before a booking.
“Mary and Hugh treat all dogs like they are family members. I know my Koda is loved when he stays with them. Koda and I are blessed to have Hugh and Mary in our lives.”
“Mo is an absolutely wonderful dog sitter. I received frequent updates throughout the day and I always felt my pup Winslow was in caring patient hands! He is a pretty anxious dog and Mo helped me feel at ease with communication and so many adorable photos. Cannot recommend enough!”

“Alan & Joe were great with our dogs. They sent photos and videos to keep us updated throughout the week. The boys got lots of love and many walks! The pups were happy and stress free during their stay.”

“My family rented a house in yucca valley and my dog was too big to stay there. Salina was the perfect solution! Her house is centrally located and pick up and drop off was super easy. Salina was very understanding of Millie’s curiosity and she took great care of her. I got pictures and updates and Millie even got introduced to her new favorite toy. Would recommend and would use again”

“Vanessa and her family were really great with our dog Millie! She sent regular updates and pictures while we were away. Millie was very happy when I picked her up and she clearly loved the family.”

“Lynn was fabulous! Our Sugar Baby came home from a week stay with a wonderful disposition. No stress at all. That’s the best compliment anyone can give a caregiver. Thanks, Lynn!”

“We miss Ashley! She took great care of our dogs whenever we needed to leave town. She truly spoiled them and treated them as her own. They also enjoyed playing with her dogs and running around her backyard. Highly recommend if you’re in the 29/JT area or even vacationing out there.”
“This was my first experience using Rover, and Gloria far exceeded my expectations. She took such wonderful care of Pepper while we were on vacation and kept me constantly updated with messages, photos, and videos. Her communication was outstanding and truly put my mind at ease. I never worried about him for a single moment. It was clear that Pepper was comfortable, happy, and genuinely cared for. I am so grateful to have found someone I trust and I will absolutely be recommending Gloria and booking with her again in the future. Thank you again so much!!”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Palm Wells home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Palm Wells.
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Palm Wells sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
