“Elaine S. was fantastic! She took great care of our dogs, Chloe and Culver, and gave us peace of mind while we had dinner and drinks in Palm Springs. She kept us updated with great communication, including photos and messages, which we really appreciated. It was clear our dogs were comfortable and well cared for, we came home to happy, relaxed pups. We would absolutely book with Elaine again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, caring, and communicative Rover sitter in Palm Springs.”

“April was a fantastic dog and cat sitter to our four pets and did a great job looking after our house and resident houseplants when we were away for a week and took in our mail and packages. She gave my dog Lady her heart medication as well. She is also very responsive! I would definitely seek out April again for future trips and would recommend her to others!”

About: I’ve been caring for dogs of all sizes and personalities for over 6 years. Friends, family, and neighbors have trusted me to feed, walk, play with, and check in on their pets while they’re away. I’m patient, responsible, and love making pets feel safe, comfortable, and cared for. I also have experience with energetic dogs and keeping pets on their regular routines. I have a flexible schedule and make pet care a priority in my daily routine. I’m available for check-ins, walks, feeding, playtime, and overnight care depending on your pet’s needs. I always make sure pets get plenty of attention, exercise, and care while their owners are away. Your pet’s safety and comfort are always my top priorities. I carefully follow feeding schedules, medication instructions, and any routines your pet is used to. I make sure pets feel safe, loved, and stress-free in their own environment while keeping owners updated with messages and photos.
About: I’m a reliable, caring pet sitter who keeps routines consistent, provides personalized attention, ensures pets feel safe and comfortable, and gives plenty of love, playtime, and companionship. Pet care is part of my daily routine. I have two cats myself, so I prioritize consistent visits, feeding, walks, and attention to keep pets comfortable and safe. While I am not offering boarding or day care at my own home at this time, I am quite responsible in my treatment of other people's property while caring for their pets. I can follow directions, keep gates closed, and follow safety protocols.

“Ciera was great! She communicated well and took wonderful care of my two dogs. It’s always nice to have someone who can step in and manage the pups when needed and I wouldn’t hesitate to use Ciera again.”

“Katie was amazing! We were able to do a meet and greet before which helped us feel super comfortable leaving our pups. She maintained great communication and sent several updates throughout the day. If available, we would love to have Katie dog sit again :)”

“Kevin was an outstanding house and pet sitter. From the start, he was reliable, communicative, and easy to work with, which gave us real peace of mind while we were away. He took excellent care of our home and treated our dog with genuine kindness and attention. It was clear he were happy, comfortable, and well cared for. Kevin also kept us updated with messages and photos, which we really appreciated. When we returned, our home was clean, organized, and exactly as we left it. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience. We highly recommend Kevin to anyone looking for a trustworthy, responsible, and caring house and pet sitter, and we would gladly have him sit for us again.”

“Our german shepherd Aggy had such a fun time with Juliann during her house sitting stay! Aggy felt so comfortable with her and it was great to know she was taken such good care of while we we gone for the week. Thank you Juliann!!”

“Tony was amazing with our Sheepadoodle Califern. We ran into a pinch over the Thanksgiving holiday and needed to find coverage quickly and Tony delivered. He was flexible with Cali's needs and sent me updates with pictures during the stay. We joke that our dog is like our child and we're not kidding that we would talk about her nightly if she were ok and missing us. Having communication and pictures helped us know she was in a good space. I'd highly recommend boarding your dogs with Tony. He was awesome. --Tom”

“Silvana is sweet, trustworthy and kind hearted. My dogs sensed her kindness right away. They love her. Silvana was prompt on arrival and stayed the entire time in my home. She took care of my two German Shepherds like they were her own. I will definitley ask her again to help out in the future. Thank you Silvana.”

About: I’ve grown up with both dogs and cats, and have been a huge animal lover my whole life. I’ve always been a sitter for friends and family in need and figured I might as well expand my services. I have a big home and yard, with plenty of grass and room to run. Our home is very pet friendly, and they pretty much are free to roam as they please. My husband and I keep the home clean, but cozy. We have kids, cats, and dogs and everyone gets along. We keep the upstairs blocked off so the cats have their own space to play and relax. There are tile floors for a cool place to nap, dog beds, cat trees, and plenty of toys. I’m a nurse and CPR certified, so your fur baby is safe with me. I only ask that your pet is friendly, and if you have a dog that they are a minimal barker as we like to keep our neighbors happy. I can help with potty training, bathing, and medicines too…whatever your pet needs. All you need to provide is your pets favorite food. I’ll take care of the rest. I work part time as a nurse, usually during the nights and my husband is a stay at home dad. I have plenty of time and energy to devote to your fur baby. I have a large home and yard with plenty of grass. There are also several dog parks within our community for your fur baby to play.
About: I've been owned by pets since I was a baby. Dogs that didn't like people always came to me, protected me n trust me. From a large white wolf, a wild fox, lizard that laid in my hand n let me spray with cool water. Hummingbirds feeding from my hands. Have had dogs, cats, rats, snakes, horses, goats n birds since I was a child. I have had many packs, have raised puppies n kittens and had to lay many beloved fur families to rest, I believe I will be reunited with them one day. I have had many pet sitting jobs, day jobs, overnight stays or day visits. I worked at the animal shelter in Mountain Home AR where I resided for 24 years. I am kind, lovable and very protective and reliable. I am currently doing very part time in home health care. My schedule is very flexible and open any day and I am available evenings n weekends. I will happily n very caringly watch over your fur babies in your loving home. I am here to see your little loved ones are eased through their time away from you.
“Renee was great! Very prompt and attentive and took care of our cat Snacks for a few days. He was in excellent hands and we got great photos while we were out and status reports. Definitely will call on Renee again to house sit our furball!”

About: New to Rover, but not new to pet care! I’ve had dogs and cats at home my entire life and have spent two years pet sitting for four large dogs. I’m also a proud dog mom to a sassy, slightly reactive dachshund, which has taught me the importance of patience, calm energy, and being aware of each dog’s unique triggers and needs. I always prioritize safety, trust, and making pets feel comfortable and cared for. I am a graduate student at UCLA back at home for the summer. I am available throughout the week and on weekends with at least one week's advance notice. When caring for pets in their home, I follow each owner’s instructions to provide safe, comfortable, and consistent care. On walks, I stay alert to my surroundings and prioritize calm, safe leash handling for every dog. I will treat your pet like if it is my own.
About: GROWING UP, MY MOM ONLY ALLOWED US TO HAVE CATS AS PETS. WHEN I WAS 20-YEARS OLD, I ADOPTED MY FIRST PUPPY FROM THE LONG ISLAND, NEW YORK ANIMAL SHELTER. HE WAS AN AKITA/GERMAN SHEPPARD MIX & WE HAD HIM FOR 17-YEARS UNTIL WE HAD TO PUT HIM TO SLEEP 😞. I ADOPTED 4 OTHER PUPPIES AFTER THAT. I EMJOY THE COMPANY OF PETS MORE THEN I ENJOY THE COMPANY OF PEOPLE LOL 😂. PETS ARE MORE LOYAL. I KNOW THAT WE ALL TREAT OUR PETS LIKE OUR CHILDREN, SO WE SHOULD SPARE NO EXPENSE WHEN IT COMES TO PET SITTING/BOARDING. I AM CURRENTLY UNEMPLOYED, SO MY SCHEDULE IS COMPLETELY OPEN. ALSO, MY PROFESSION IS WORKING AS EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT, SO I GET TO WORK REMOTELY. I CAN PROVIDE THE BEST CARE & ATTENTION ACCORDING TO MY SCHEDULE. OUR PROPERTY HAS AN EAST & WEST LAWN AREA THAT IS FENCED IN & SAFE. WE HAVE 3 VERY FRIENDLY & LOVABLE DOGS (6-YEAR OLD WHITE GERMAN SHEPPARD, 13-YEAR OLD COTTON DETULIA & 6-MONTH OLD BOXER). SAFETY & TRUST IS ALWAYS THE MOST IMPORTANT ASPECT OF PET SITTING/BOARDING. MAKING SURE THAT BOTH HUMAN & PET ARE HAPPY & GET ALONG.
About: Anytime, anywhere I’ll be there! I am passionate about animals and would love to take care of your fur babies while you’re away. I am willing to send photos, updates and FaceTime whenever necessary. I am knowledgeable in medication handling, feeding routines and nature walks. I’ve trained several breeds in my lifetime. (Non-licensed but great at it none the less) I am currently retired and have open availability. I am willing to travel. I have a 2020 Elantra. I live in Desert Hot Springs. Thank you I am a part of a community that has a dog park. My home pet friendly. I have a fur baby of my own and my sister has a fur baby of her own as well. Very other pet friendly.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of July 2026, there are 699 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Morongo Valley. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Morongo Valley walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Morongo Valley maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Morongo Valley choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
