As a nursing student, I’m trained to notice small changes in behavior, appetite, or energy levels that others might miss. I’ve been housesitting dogs of all sizes for the past three years, and I’m comfortable caring for both energetic puppies and slower paced senior dogs. This summer I’m off from school, so I’m available on weekdays and able to dedicate plenty of time to pet care. During drop in visits, I focus on keeping your pet’s routine consistent and stress free. I follow all feeding instructions carefully, make sure fresh water is available, and provide potty breaks as needed. I also spend time giving attention, playtime, and affection so your pet doesn’t feel lonely while you’re away. I always check for any changes in behavior or appetite and will communicate updates with photos for peace of mind. For walks, safety is my top priority. I make sure collars and harnesses are secure before heading out and adjust the walk based on your dog’s energy level and needs. Whether your dog prefers a brisk walk or a slower, relaxed pace, I make sure they get proper exercise and stimulation. I return them safely, refill water if needed, and always send updates after the walk.

My cat went straight to V from the first visit, where as with most people and previous sitters he will ovoid and hide even people who have been to the house many times. On one occasion Victoria had to go the emergency room with her child and I could not believe that after being there for hours - she and her family came to our home around midnight to feed and play with our cat. These days vary week to week, so please inquire in advance and I’ll do my best to help you with your needs. I would like to get to know you and your pet first, to provide the most consistent and reassuring care for your pet while you are away. Some pets prefer a slow, steady, gentle approach to bonding, while others are more exuberant and outgoing; much like people, it varies per to pet.

They tell us when they are happy, sad and ill. Paying attention to the signs they give you is vital to a safe environment. Constant communication between the owner and myself is a pivotal step to ensuring these signs are not overlooked.
