About: Hi! My name is Alyssa. I am a lifelong dog owner and former dog foster parent. I have experience caring for dogs of all natures - senior dogs, reactive dogs, and administering medications. I know the anxiety that comes with leaving your fur baby. Leave that worry at the door when your pet stays in my home! I will love and care for you let as if they are our own! My work allows me to be home all day, allowing me to provide personalized care and attention, never miss medication doses, and plenty of cuddles! My husband also works remotely two days a week. Although he will not be responsible for care, he shares my love and compassion for dogs and will love your pet like his own too! We own a 5 year old, 80lb Catahoula Leopard Dog Mix named Duke. He is neutered, well-trained (he talks with buttons!), very socialized, and adapts well to visiting dogs. He will lie down when playing with smaller dogs and respects boundaries when playtime is over. My home is currently child-free, creating a quiet environment with a perfectly sized, fenced in backyard. My home and yard provide a variety of enrichment and separate spaces for dogs who prefer their own area. I look forward to welcoming and caring for your pet in our home! I am incredibly grateful to be able to be fully remote 7 days a week. My husband works remotely two days a week, in office 3 days. My dog and I love spending time outdoors, either playing out in the yard or relaxing in our screened in porch! When my husband gets home from work we like to take family walks around our quiet, safe community. I provide a safe, calm, and structured environment where every dog can feel comfortable and secure. My home is child-free with minimal clutter for dogs to get into. We have a full fenced backyard with no neighboring dogs, for supervised outdoor playtime. I am home throughout the day, allowing me to closely monitor pets, maintain routines to elevate stress, administer medication, and provide plenty of attention, exercise, and love. We have crate trained my dog and can give him crate time to provide separate spaces and help all dogs feel comfortable. My dog may be big but he is incredibly intelligent and empathetic. He has been noted to comfort and welcome new dogs at his day care. He is impressive with understanding boundaries and can either give your dog space or be your dog’s new BFF (best furry friend!)! I
“It was my first time leaving my dog to go on vacation and I was instantly comforted when I walked in her home. She sent lots of pics and my dog wasn’t in a rush to leave when I picked him up. Can’t wait to book again!”

“We loved having Maria care for our dog! She was excellent with communication, and our dog absolutely adores her. We felt completely confident that our dog was safe and well cared for. We will definitely book with her again!”

“This is our second time using Jared and what can I say except that he is exceptional. I love all the updates to what my two huskies are up to while under his care. He understands the energy of a husky and my girls love hanging out with his dogs. I would definitely hire again with full confidence that my girls are being well cared for”

“Tisha was an amazing sitter! She was able to watch my dog at the last minute. London and Lilly had fun together and became couch buddies. Very communicative and sent pics 😊 Will definitely be booking with you again. Thank you so much!”

“John was absolutely amazing with our dogs, Bleu and Simon! Bleu is our 80 lbs, 6 year old rescue mix and Simon is our energetic 1 year old Italian Greyhound, and John was incredibly patient, attentive, and loving with both of them. One of the things we appreciated most was how welcoming his entire family was. His three kids were so sweet with our dogs, and it was obvious that Bleu and Simon had an incredible time playing with them. It truly felt like they were part of the family instead of just being boarded. Throughout the weekend, John kept us updated with messages and photos, which gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. It was clear that our pups were getting plenty of attention, exercise, affection, and love. We couldn’t have asked for a better Rover sitter. If you’re looking for someone who will genuinely care for your pets like they’re his own, John is the one. We will absolutely be booking with him again the next time we need someone to watch Bleu and Simon. Thank you, John, for taking such great care of our babies!”

“Jennifer took great care of our Ginger! Being able to have a meet and greet before we decided to book was so important and we were thankful for. She sent pictures and videos while we were gone which helped relieve our worry of how she was handling our first long trip. Jennifer will be our first choice for our next trip!”

“Kylie took such good care of Mabel while she was there. She sent frequent updates and pictures, which I love. Mabel and I will be using Kylie when we need a sitter In the future!”

“I want to give you 5 stars Karrie. I want to thank you for all the care, spoiled, love and all the attention to my babies as if they were yours. Keep sending me pictures and videos every day. You made my mini vacation go smoothly and safely with my babies. I recommend you 100% and if I need a babysitter again it would be you. Thank you for everything, take care and continue your good work.”

“Odie seems to enjoy going to Linda‘s house every time. He especially liked the special treats and his new green ball. We will definitely continue to send Odie to this sitter.”

“Wonderful! My dogs are older and have old dog issues, so I'm always nervous to have to leave them with someone. But they seemed to have done great on their stay and they both seemed happy and relaxed, and my one guy had such a good time, he didn't seem in a particular rush to come home! It's a relief to know she is nearby in case my guys need another stayover.”

“I am very pleased with the care that Lindsey and her husband provided for my dog, Lola! I was gone for an extended vacation and she was well looked out for and I was sent the occasional pictures which I really appreciated! I will definitely be using them again for my next vacation!”

“Margarita is an amazing dog sitter. Sends pictures & updates as requested. My dog is always excited to see her. Appreciate all the love & attention her and her husband give to my fur baby. Highly recommend”

“Jennifer was great at letting the dogs warm up to her on their time. She kept us up to date our whole trip on how they were doing with our daily pupdates and pictures! Even when they got a little tummy trouble. She made our first time boarding outside our home a great experience”

“Jacey was super sweet and accommodating. Made my trip away from my pup so stress free. She kept updating me with pics of my pup. He looked so happy even when am away. Highly recommend her and will be leaving my pup with Jacey in future when needed. Thanks Jacey.”

“Jonathon & Aimee Such a beautiful experience letting our baby on your hands, we are very lucky to find you and be able to be away from him having the peace of mind of knowing he was totally fine. You guys were awesome from the day we contacted you, you were always available for us and keep us updated about Brownie the whole time, we know how comfortable he felt the whole time with you. Andrew was amazing. He's a great communicator & sent us continous updates. He was very understanding to our concerns & on how hard it was for us to leave our girls 🐾🐾. They seemed to have done well in his care & we will definitely have him take care of them again in the near future.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in FL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
