“Danny HATES getting boarded. He always comes home anxious, hungry, or injured. We decided to try Rover this time and it was our best decision yet! Kaitlyn was great and gave us a ton of pictures and videos with details about each visit. She even gave lot of attention to our cats when she was there. 10/10 and we’ll definitely be reaching out to Kaitlyn again.”

“Coming home to happy, healthy kitties only happens because of Tally! The confidence she gives us when we have to leave them, is such a good feeling. I’d give her 10/5 stars if I could!”

“After just coming off a very negative river experience, Kristin took AMAZING care of our cat Beau. She sent me tons of pictures and updates and made sure he was well cared for while we were away. Will definitely be booking again!!”

“Daisy was just perfect combination with my 2 fur babies, Hyphy and Boopy. Daisy took great care of the both of them to each of their specific needs, which wasn't much but still managed to do so. She displayed a lot of care and love for both of my puppies. Daisy offered that calming and comfort that my pups needed while my family and I were gone on vacation. Would definitely recommend Daisy for any services that your pet needs and will be rebooking her for any services that I need in the future. I dont trust many people to care for my pups, but Daisy has definitely made my decision worth it. A great "ROVER" in my book.”

About: I love animals and would love to help you watch yours if you're out or take them on walks for you! I had a German-Shorthaired Pointer/Labrador mix for 11 years, he passed away recently but brought years of joy and experience with a highly-energetic dog. I recently got my first cat, and I have lived with several other dogs and cats. I do not have any professional experience grooming or dealing with animals, but I am more than willing to help out with letting dogs out, taking them on walks, etc. I definitely have plenty of experience walking dogs because of my little guy. I look forward to hearing from you soon! I currently have quite open availability, almost any day and time should work with some notice, and I will try to make it work regardless. I have a fenced-in yard where a dog can go outside/play fetch. I have 1 cat, but he can be kept in a separate area of the house if preferred.
“Sylvia did an awesome job! We did not worry at all about our pet’s care while we were away! Sylvia sent pictures and let us know how she cared for Daisy daily! She is very prompt to respond to questions or concerns! We will definitely be using Sylvia’s services in the future!”

“I was urgently looking for another cat sitter after having a really disappointing experience with my previous one. Then I came across Yuridia's profile, and I'm SO glad I found her! She's a 10/10 cat sitter. I had quite a few tasks for each visit, and she managed to do everything perfectly! She's thoughtful, detail-oriented, communicative, and genuinely cares about the cats she looks after. I felt so relieved knowing my cats were finally in good hands. I would absolutely recommend Yuridia to any cat parent looking for a caring and trustworthy sitter!”

“Amanda did an amazing job taking care of our two dogs. She communicated excellently, and spent quality time with them during the drop-in visit. We will definitely book with Amanda again.”

About: I’m a dedicated dog lover with hands on experience caring for friends’ and family dogs, as well as my own, using positive reinforcement at home. On walks, I focus on gentle, calm structure, making sure gear fits comfortably, reinforcing polite leash manners, and (if you’d like) practicing simple cues like “sit,” “wait,” and “leave it.” I’m patient with excited dogs and extra gentle with nervous pups, always prioritizing safety and giving plenty of space from other dogs and people when needed. Dogs who need extra space on leash are welcome, I’m comfortable with mild–moderate reactivity and I work at the dog’s comfort level using distance, calm handling, and positive reinforcement. You’ll get photo updates + a quick walk recap each visit, and meet & greets are always welcome. I’m available for dog walks Monday through Saturday, with flexible time blocks from morning to evening (6am–10pm). Sundays are my off day. I’m happy to work with one-time walks, weekly routines, and recurring midday potty breaks—whatever keeps your pup happiest and most consistent. Safety comes first on every walk. I double-check harness/collar fit, use secure leash handling, and stay alert to surroundings. I avoid on-leash greetings unless you request them, give dogs space from triggers, and keep walks calm and positive. I’ll follow your routine closely and send photo updates each visit.
About: Animals have always been my passion! Ever since I was 13, I've taken care of many different kinds of animals, from scaley to furry; I've handled it all. I can dog walk, come to your home to pet or house sit, or stop by to let your dog out. You name it, I can do it! I live with 3 cats, and they all love attention! I also care for my dog and cat at my mother's as well when I can. I'll feed your pet, bathe your pet, take your pet to potty, play with your pet, and, of course, love on your pet! Animals are precious and always deserve love and attention.
“Alexus was so great. I was so nervous about leaving my babies in someone else's care but alexus was amazing. She did everything exactly how I asked. They were very comfortable with her. She kept me up to date on everything that was going on and her prices are reasonable. I am so grateful for her and I will most definitely be using her services for them again.”

About: I've taken care of dogs for 3 weeks at a time. I've trained dogs basic skills like sit, down, roll over, turn around, leave it, and sit and stay. I've had many dogs of my own and 2 cats I'm available to watch animals before and after work and I can also attend to them in between 12 and 1 on my lunch break. I work from 8:00 to 5:00. I'm early riser. I Love to keep them happy while their owners are away. When I'm caring for animals, I spend time with them I make sure they're well fed and have plenty of water. What makes me happy is having your baby happy while you are away. I love taking them for walks or even going to the park. I do like cuddling. I have no problem with your fur baby sleeping with me at night.
About: As a sitter/walker I combine reliability, hands-on experience, and a genuine commitment to each dog’s/cat’s individual needs. I have experience training puppies, including reinforcing basic commands, leash manners, crate training, and consistent routines that support positive behavior development. I have also worked with senior dogs and understand the additional patience, attentiveness, and comfort focused care they require. I am comfortable administering medication and following detailed care instructions to ensure pets stay healthy and safe. As a college student working part-time, I bring strong time management skills, responsibility, and dedication to every booking, treating each pet with the same level of care and consistency I would expect for my own. I am a student at Westmont College located in Montecito, CA but currently on summer break. I have a very flexible schedule and would love to fill that time enjoying time and taking care of your animals! My pets are very cared for, they are treated like family because they are. You can trust that I will give every and any animal on my care the utmost respect and love, and I will always let owners know if I notice anything out of the ordinary.
“Brittany took care of Patches as if she were her own fur baby! Brittany went above and beyond when Patches was struggling due to my extended trip. When I returned home, Patches was very calm and content as a direct result of Brittany's care!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Modesto
Daisy was phenomenal - she was perfectly on time to every one of her drop-in’s during our trip and provided detailed info about the dogs and how they were doing each day. It was such a relief to know they were in loving, capable, trustworthy hands and we cannot overstate the peace of mind that brought us while we were across the country. We’d absolutely use her again for future trips.

Sarah took care of my kitties and even my shy one warmed up to her charm. I received detailed updates on a daily basis and 10-15 pictures each day. I really felt like they were in good hands with Sarah. In addition to feeding, playing and caring for my kitties, Sarah was agreeable to take out my garbage cans and bring them back in. She gave extra water to new flowers I recently planted outside and brought in packages that were delivered. Sarah notified me of a pool problem and helped avert a big problem. I will definitely ask Sarah to do drop in visits again. She did more than just what I asked but used common sense in protecting my kitties’ home.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
